This guy should have won.. such clarity and definition, power and chops, technical skill, creativity, speed... everything points to this man as the winner
Marc won the drum off because of his techniques and the way he through the beat . Marc was way better although this performance his also good . How he combined speed with throwing beats he deserved to won.
@@akashgomes7322 Mark Papaco? I just went and watched it and I have NO IDEA how you can say he was "way better". No idea at all. This was better drumming to my ear and more interesting, though they are both pros.
I rate this guy over Fred and that winner guy.. his drum sound is very mature and it doesn’t sound like a spam bot. Fred to me sounds like drum spam. This guys touch his this solid feel .. and there’s a rhythm to follow
Some times I get intoi these drum slumps ...where I just dont feel creative and can not groove as well is I would like too..there are so many drum vids to watch and learn from..but something about this fantastic player really gave me a kick in the ass..thank you for the inspiration!!
OK, just watched the 5 finalists. Here's my ranking: 1. Fred Boswell Jr. T2. Kwesi Robinson T2. Mark Pacpaco 4. Anthony Burns 5. Hilario Bell Also, thank you GC for getting rid of the stupid octopad.
@@MichaelJohnson-kl7rf I totally thought he was Ghanaian from his playing, he plays just like the one Ghanaian drummer I know, Yao Dinizulu. Wow, its crazy, I could tell his origin from his drumming, and I know almost nothing about Africa. Music and culture are amazing things.
This is the 5th or 6th Drum Off video I've watched but it's the first one where he actually played the drums; no gimmicks, no electronics, no annoying backup band... Maybe I'm confused by what Drum Off means cuz I expected a lot more of this style and less "artsy" crap....... BTW, this guy is freakin' awesome!
I have no earthly idea how that other guy won after stealing Isiais' intro. Just wait until they release the Anthony Burns video. It was definitely between Kwesi and Anthony.
QUIT saying hate...we are giving our opinions...free country....hate is saying like Mark is trash and cant play the drums...he sucks....that stuff....not Kwesi has better beats and was more solid funk...
Dude, how the fuck did the winner beat this guy? I mean look at his stack! He's beating the crap out of it and the flow and execution is sooooo much better!
I saw kwesi at the quarterfinals in philly , the guy is a beast on the drums!! fun to watch!! after watching this and seeing the video of the winner, not even close kwesi was robbed!!!!!
This dude may not have won--but if he keeps doing what he's doing I can c him following the footsteps of a previous GC drum off winner by the name of Chris Coleman
He is simply over-qualified to be even a participant in this. He should just start playing for Stevie Wonder's band. This Drum-Off competition means nothing compared to his enormous talent.I went through the other videos as well and without a doubt, this seems to be the most soulful, dynamic yet punchy performance.
Best chops out of all the finalists and definitely the most technical but the performance feels a bit flat. Probably could have had it if he dailed it in that extra 1% (ie dragging a bit in this transition). 1:51-1:54)
Sorry but Kwesi def won!!! Wow!!! This guy is amazing!!! GC cheated him out of this win!! Keep going Kwesi come back even harder next time!!! I'm def a fan!!!
This guy should have won.. such clarity and definition, power and chops, technical skill, creativity, speed... everything points to this man as the winner
Jack Comoss agree 100 %

Yes... Me too brother..
Best groove and transitions.. he's should've won.
Josue Solano the winner copied 2010's winner.....
Who won?
Without a doubt one of the greatest drummers ever. I'm happy to say I have had the honor and privilege to play music with this man.
Do u mean it man...That's great!!! What do you play??
That cowbell groove is NASTY!!!!!! Hate to say it but I really like this guy better than the champion.
I agree with you
That Kit sounds Incredible. Great Job.
This guy has major chops and power. That china stack he had sounded sick too.
Look like a traditional China a traditional splash and maybe something else
Oh my God... THIS lost?? Nah. Kwesi is this years winner, I dont care what the judges thought.
TheItalianDrummer the winner copied 2010's winner
Dub _ he copied a section. no need to keep talking about it like that was what gave him his win
Ehhh...idk i think anthony was better. Kwesi was mostly just chops
@Peter Kim Music And the irony for Anthony, was that he lost to Isaias in 2010 only to lose to the dude that copied Isaias Gil in this event.
I truly congratulate this amazing drummer, so awesome🎼🎼🎵🎵🎶🎶, I feel motivated to keep on teaching music, God bless you guys all!!
He's a winner in our eyes...
This is just INSANE

What? Anthony is 1st or 2nd. Pacpaco is last.
Those Gopro shots made me feel Kwesi 😎
jimboishere11 that was a good one friend
One of the best this year!
This guy should have won

The guy has one of the most powerful hits I’ve ever heard
This solo is incredible
This is so clean!
Kwesi is such a cool name haha

Dang he bangs the skins with mind blowing transitions. Best way I can describe Kwesi is hes playing two drum sets at the same time 🤪

This guys should have been this year's winner! Damn!
Awesome!
Awesome solo!
Excellent well applied. Sounded awesome !
Awesome thanks
Great video.☺️ I just subscribed to ur RUclips channel.☺️ I watched a couple of his videos and he’s such a great drummer. Nice work Kwesi Robinson.☺️
Amazing!!!!!!!
i can't believe he's only a finalist, this a winning performance.
This dude's groove was superior
Greatness to this day
LOVE the sound of that china!!
How did he not win?
Sounds great to me :-) A "BIG" thumbs up :-) ROCK ON!!!!!!!
Agreed....especially the snare...
That was Kwesi!
I have no earthly idea how that other guy won after stealing Isiais' intro. Just wait until they release the Anthony Burns video. It was definitely between Kwesi and Anthony.
was the other guy White or Mexican
maybe they pulled a Steve Harvey
lol
LOL
The maximum number of "why didn't he win?" comments.. that says it all!
He should have won.tight grooves and superb stick control and dynamics.
My winner!!
GAH DAMN THAT SNARE
So crisp right
Preach homie
Great drummer in my book! Awesome power!
drums sound Immaculate
This guy won in my book!, David Curtis

INSANE11111111!!!!!!!!!!!
Dude is fuckin amazing.
Groovy!!
NO OCTOPAD. FINALLY.
Maybe this guy didn't win that day. But some time later after that day, he already rollin with the big guys in the industry
Man that snare🔥🔥
That fill with snare ghosts notes 1:09-1:14
How the hell did Kwesi not win
Yes..me too brother..
Yea Kwesi was a bit better to me - both outstanding skills. Everybody stop the hate, it's music and the coolest instrument on the planet, DRUMS!!!!!
QUIT saying hate...we are giving our opinions...free country....hate is saying like Mark is trash and cant play the drums...he sucks....that stuff....not Kwesi has better beats and was more solid funk...
that snare sounds amazing!
☆☆☆☆☆ Holy Mother of Pearl!
What a monster
give this man his signature cowbell...wtf
love to those ghost notes nice job
He is good
Dude, how the fuck did the winner beat this guy? I mean look at his stack! He's beating the crap out of it and the flow and execution is sooooo much better!
Literally every finalist was better than the winner
I love those chest cam shots! Arms look like rubber.
After they release all the vids, you´ll see that the winner was actually the worst one. Amateur sounds, stolen ideas. GC should be ashamed...
JulianFernandez so true
JulianFernandez That's how it is every year tbh.
The winner bit off of Isaias Gil's intro.. SMH
who was the winner?
Mark Pacpaco
them chops! dude!
holy sweet Jesus that stack was so mmmm mmmmmm crispy!!
Almost every drummer here always masters every rudiment but will they ever learn the headbanger?
GAT DAMN!
Cascara
I saw kwesi at the quarterfinals in philly , the guy is a beast on the drums!! fun to watch!! after watching this and seeing the video of the winner, not even close kwesi was robbed!!!!!
THE HAND .... @4 minutes is maddd funny......... Errrrrrrrr........ Times up son!!!!! lol
This dude may not have won--but if he keeps doing what he's doing I can c him following the footsteps of a previous GC drum off winner by the name of Chris Coleman
wow!!!!!!!!!
Yo this guy sounds really good tho
Higher ground -Stevie wonder
He is simply over-qualified to be even a participant in this. He should just start playing for Stevie Wonder's band. This Drum-Off competition means nothing compared to his enormous talent.I went through the other videos as well and without a doubt, this seems to be the most soulful, dynamic yet punchy performance.
Is Kwesi Ghanaian by any chance? Because his style reminds me a LOT of my boy Yao Dinizulu (originally from Ghana).
awesome \m/
He’s a Ghanaian
Not sure why the judges didn't go KWESI.
why don't they put a timer instead of a pat on the back
Maybe Kwesi was nothing but chops, but he really should have been the winner.
Fred guy was full of chops .. this guy actually chopped with a direction and groove
did they get rid of the octo pad?
no one used the octapad??🤔🤔🤔
Best chops out of all the finalists and definitely the most technical but the performance feels a bit flat. Probably could have had it if he dailed it in that extra 1% (ie dragging a bit in this transition). 1:51-1:54)
why was no one using a Roland Pad this year?!
dominikdrums Guitar Center removed it from the competition this year
Who won?
Sorry but Kwesi def won!!! Wow!!! This guy is amazing!!! GC cheated him out of this win!! Keep going Kwesi come back even harder next time!!! I'm def a fan!!!
CHOPS 5 MINS STRAIGHT!!
I thought the drums were gonna take off for a sec
That snare tho...
Can they not do something to keep that bass drum from moving?
KingCornWallis those assholes put that cat at a disadvantage the second that. kick started moving. I gotta say he killed it anyway. FUCK G.C.
Awesome job! Not a fan of all the octopad solos. Just drums! The way it should be
Any idea what stack he is using?
Callum Moodley it's a 18" meinl byzance traditional china with a 10" meinl byzance traditional splash on top of it
