That’s only partly correct. Edward could only become Duke of Edinburgh after his mother’s death, as that is when the title (held by Charles after the death of Prince Philip) merged with the Crown and if could be given out outside of the succession rules. During the interim between Philip’s death and the Queen’s, Camilla was the Duchess of Edinburgh, and the Queen the dowager Duchess
