For the second session of our webinar series on generative artificial intelligence (AI), we will be discussing AI in News: Impact, Ethics, and Governance. The session will be led by two seasoned experts in their respective fields - Dalia Hashim, program and research lead for AI and media integrity at Partnership on AI (PAI), and Nikita Roy, a data scientist, journalist and media entrepreneur.
Roy’s presentation will start with the impact of AI on the news industry. In addition to exploring the transformative effects of AI on news production, delivery and consumption, Roy will also provide guidance on the ethical use of generative AI tools in news workflows. We will take a dive into the practical applications of generative AI in newsrooms and learn how to use these tools responsibly.
Hashim will take it further, speaking about how to put guardrails on the use of AI in news. The presentation will be based off the recently released AI Adoption for News: 10-Step Guide, and will specifically focus on how to consider responsible adoption of AI tools, what you should think about when you're implementing AI governance and what retiring an AI tool entails.
