Whoever was in charge of the audio that day needs to be fired
YES! Lol I thought it was my cell phone 📱 trippin for a minute 😂
I thought it was just me
Could be they lost the main audio so they had to just take the cameras built in direct audio and use it. Sucks but otherwise you just scrap the episode.
BIG FACTZ 🎯🎯🎯
Waste Of A Dope Interview
The reason why i loved Rocafella back in the 2000's is because they had a particular 'sound'. I don't think its a bad thing. From NO ID, to Bink, Kanye, Just Blaze, Chad West Hamilton, Boola Got Beats, and even the Heatmakerz. I love that sound! It made albums cohesive.
"You get credit for coloring?!?!?". I literally laughed out loud. That was a clean way to end the clip. Great interview
I am in a toilet bowl underwater with a hose listening to this interview in the next door apt
😂😂😂😂😂 they got to fire the audio engineer.
We need just blaze up there next...
Definitely
Yup
Expeditiously
Bink is not lying about Just Blaze. If you look at Just's work before Rocafella (ie, Killah Priest's 2nd album in 1999), it sounded nothing like his Roc work. Yet, Bink had that Roc sound before Just and Kanye got to the Roc.
View from Masada
Lmfaooo this one was hilarious. I strongly believe they were actually getting Bink’s point the whole time. They can’t be that absent-minded to what he’s saying, especially AFTER he put it all in layman’s term.
Bink is like the 4th man that was there that said Just Blaze was making shit that sounded like Swizz initially... That's CRAZY!
It’s very clear if you listen to any beat Just Blaze produced around 98-99
Bink created that regal sound 💯 it’s no debating it

You mean he just found the records to chop.

Probably one of the most underrated interviews in Hip Hop and sounds like I'm listening underwater, we gotta do better Math!!
That being said both Bink! and Just Blaze are some of my favorite producers. There is an element of truth to this, Just Blaze definitely emulated Bink's drum programming, however Just Blaze flips soul samples completely differently to Bink!.
Regardless, I love Exhbit A and C
Listen to Mamma loves me off the Blueprint and it sounds like Just…but it’s Bink! I can see where they would get confused. A lot of Binks beats could be confused with Just Blaze. All these years I thought it was only Blaze

Yeah the audio is crazy lol

Bink is right. I think all of us who respect the art understand what he’s saying. For those who respect the money and fame think otherwise. Doesn’t mean you aren’t talented if you take someone’s sound and create your own original piece, same goes for rappers. But there’s something to be said about the person who’s the creator. Before them it didn’t exist. To act like they’re the same is crazy. All Bink is saying is if you’re gonna take my sound give me my credit. It’s about respect.
Exactly
Bink deserves his flowers. But Just Blaze made “U Don’t Know” “The Dynasty Intro” & “PSA” for Jay-Z alone. If he’s a biter then he’s a damn good one.
Right I don’t just blaze a biter ether maybe his copy the drum pattern
Yep he’s a great biter. Listen to just blaze pre rocafella you can hear the immediate influence.

It seems like Mecc & Math don’t want to agree that Just Blaze got caught with his hand in the cookie jar after all these years of taking credit to make it seem like he really created his own lane.

Bink needs more respect from people outside looking in, I was one of those fans in the early days of the ROC who thought those binks beats were just blaze beats... took me some digging to find out, then found out about the other beats he did for other artists, guy is talented...
Blueprint (Momma Loves Me) and Devil in a New Dress are two one of the best songs, ever.
Really wish the sound didn't get messed up for all the Bink clips
This man was the backbone for the The Blueprint with those high-pitched samples and that live percussion sounding drums (that Just Blaze later drew inspiration from) he blessed the game with it.
His absence was absolutely felt on The Blueprint 2, despite Just and Kanye being featuring heavily production wise, which should tell you something.
@Dewayne Junior They only did one more song than him individually, and Hov blessed him with the intro and outro. Give Bink his just dues-it cost nothing for you to do so. We all heard what BPII sounded like in his absence-Jay’s worst pre-retirement album by far!
Pharrel is more of an orchestrator or conductor of sorts. Chad Hugo made those beats... worked the board... turned the dials... and made Pharrels visions or ideas come to life at times via instruments. Mase Looking At Me was (in my opinion unless I am forgetting someone) the first big break for them other than some R&B shit. That was like 97/98. Why's Chad Hugo's name first as producer? Basically what happened is Hugo didn't and still doesn't want the spotlight. It's also why he would barely show up in videos. He ain't wanna be the DJ Khlad or P Diddy screaming or dancing on the records out front. Pharrell had plans as an artist anyway and was more marketable so they put him out front. Drives me nuts when people just straight up say Pharrell.... at least say NEPTUNES ffs. #BIGFACTS But at the same time VA stand up!!!! Neptunes and Timbo baby. You can't mistake their sounds for ANYONE else either. Plus I agree with the names Binks dropped but yall left them out tho huh? Its ok tho we used to gettin overlooked in VA.
And then of course came NORE in 99 that man controlled the ENTIRE summer and didn't quit until like mid 2000. It was a wrap after that. Super famous and the price went up on them beats son and Hugo fell back. I feel it tbfh not everyone wants to be famous. Hugo can go damn near anywhere only die hards gonna know who he is. Pharrel can't go nowhere. Fame isn't for everyone just ask Em... he thought he wanted it. He switched up fast. Again... I can dig it tho I'd be the same way. "Give the money fuck the fame I'm a simple man" TUPAC
Bruh. They have videos on this platform 10 plus years old with Pharrell producing complete songs with artists on a Korg, Yamaha or whatever it was. He was really doing it with No Chad Hugo in sight. I’m sure he’s talented. But if it’s because of Pharrell that he didn’t “blow up” that’s his story to tell.
@@marqueshunter695 You have very low reading comprehension huh? It's ok buddy most do.
While Chad Hugo doesn’t get enough credit, Pharrell proved himself for a decade, as a solo producer. Chad seemed to just fade into the background. So that debunks this notion Pharrell was the P Diddy of !Neptunes. Maybe Chad made his millions and just worked on niche underground projects after Neptunes. I do notice Neptunes used more 70s and 80s electro synths Kraftwerk, Art of Noise type sounds, that’s isn’t evident in Pharrell’s solo production. In my opinion Pharrell was more of a hitmaker and Chad was a musician, knob turner/sound guy. They complimented each other. That 2nd Clipse album is very underrated. Beats were 🔥 on that joint.

@Mathhoffa recommend you buying the audio technica pro44 with a tascam portastudio x8. Use that as your back up audio so that you can adjust the levels in post production. I also think that you should use lavalier microphones like the zoom f2 bt lavalier microphone or the wireless go2 and connect that to a portable sound recorder as a back up. THEN I think you should should use a boom and shotgun mic as your primary microphones and I would connect those to a portastudio x8 or Rodecaster Pro2 as my main audio recording device. This would ensure that your audio quality is always a1. I know it’s costly but you can do it! 100!! I appreciate what you do!!!

I dont really like to speculate but Bink isnt the only person to make these type of accusations.
it's true, Just was inspired by Bink but he was also inspired by Kanye as well. When I first heard a JB track I believe it was from the Harlem World movement album. Just also did some work with Half A Mill too. At that time he didn't have a signature sound. Listen to JB beats on the dynasty album then listen to his beats on the Blueprint album. It's like he shifted his sound to compete with Kanye and Bink in a way. JB is still one of the best to ever do it though.

Yea I thought that was Swizz too. Until I read the credits
Just Blaze also did work on Busta's Anarchy album that year (2000) that sounded alot like Swizz.
Just Blaze is a genius copier. Ye said he stole his style too. Same thing happened wit Lex Luger it's about $ & affiliation. Once Rozay found other ppl to imitate Lex, he could do his sound for the low
Just Blaze is the original Type Beat producer
@@reylopez8433 swizz took some of bink drum pattern also
Go back to Beanie Sigel’s first album, The Truth. Just Blaze has a track on there, “Who Want What”, one of his first for Rocafella and it sounds exactly like something Swizz Beatz would do. No one would recognize it as a Just Blaze beat today. The very next track is “Raw & Uncut” produced by Bink. It doesn’t have a vocal soul sample, but the drum patterns and feel of it are what ended up being Rocafella’s dominant sound on the Dynasty album. And Bink’s track on the Dynasty album “1-900 Hustler” is basically the blueprint for what Just did on The Blueprint itself. Now granted, Just took the influence and made magic. His best beats are in another league. But there’s facts in what Bink was saying.
Factual, good observation
So why did Just Blaze have 8 of 14 records one Freeway’s Philadelphia Freeway and Bink have only 2?

Just Blaze doesn’t have a signature sound. He makes all kinds of beats, so he can’t be biting other producers.
What am I paying for if the whole interview is not accessible but there are 50 clips released
In all fairness, Kanye’s first beats in the industry sounded like Puff, D-Dot, and Jermaine Dupri. Look who he was around tho…he eventually found his own style & sound and kept building at it.
He was producing beats FOR those three, a lot of it as a ghost under D-Dot who was 'mentoring' him. But yeah his mid to late 90s beats are definitely different than the 2000-onward where he got that soul sample style down pat with 'This Can't Be Life'
Bink is one of my all time favorite Producer’s it’s unfortunate this interview was ruined by the audio quality 😢
Math, can you re-upload this but put the audio in mono? Maybe it may help? It’s hard to make things out.
Loved the conversation during the interview. Bink raised many valid points about his production style and crossed referenced it with information provided with interviews from Ye, Roberson, and Jus Blaze himself, pointing to fact that he's a "chameleon". So in all fairness to Bink he was correct. He stands on a different level of integrity within this music business and you have to honor and respect that. It never hindered his contribution to the culture as a matter of fact it added to his importance in music. What blew me away was the Virginia HAND in all of these stages of HIP HOP. Jus Blaze was perceptive enough to see and tap into Bink's FORWARD vision in production and sound, thus making BINK foundational.
Sound quality is baaad Math . We need a sound crew. This is hip hop school and we all tuned in

Just get Bink & Just Blaze on the show at the same time and get them both to build a beat from scratch...They both have different sounds. I can tell them both apart and I am a major fan of both of them!
They do have different sounds and JB sound has grown over the years. Rocafella days JB was influenced by him. Not in a bad way. I think they were all feeding off each other to achieve a certain sound for the blueprint album.
Just is an all time great but he was still finding his sound when Kanye and Bink came with their own. Yeah he stole some from both but he did create his own signature sound along the way

Blueprint is one of the great albums of all time but it is very odd that Just Blaze/Kanye received so much praise for that album but Bink didnt. Even though he produced 3 songs.
Bink said it. He didn’t sign to the management company. There’s no incentive for Jay-Z to say his name. He said Just Blaze and Kanye. Why? Because if other people engage them to make music, he makes money because they’re signed to the management company. There’s an incentive for Jay to make them more visible. If he says Bink and helps make him popular, he steers people to him, which is an independent who he can’t eat off of. He took care of his house. Bink made his choice.
