I flew the Ft. Funston Ridge in 1976 with a Brasil II a glider from Austria - I am from Austria - and I still fly but I became old and so this year I changed to a Icaro Piuma L, a similar glider to the Malibu 2. This kind of gliders are perfect for the not so young ones. Light in weight and erasy to handle. It is just fun 🙂.
Very Cool - What pilots founded Ft. Funston? 1) Larry Greene (Seagull 3) 2) Jonathan Edwards (Dacron Sail Glider with keel 2' shorter than leading edges. Very advanced for its time) and 3) Fritz Braunberger in a stock Manta 18' leading edges and keel. It was when the site was still an active military site. We had to hike up from highway 1 to right about where the current launch point is. Larry was the first to try to launch. It was pretty windy like it gets. Larry launched and went straight up and back. Couldn't penetrate with all of that 245 square feet of sail. He got blown back and over the razor wire fence and landed on the other side near where the parking lot is now. The guards came out with a German Sheppard guard dog and guns and everything. They took Larry away. Jon and I launched without a hitch and had a miracle of a day. Those days it is easy to be the first.
I really love this video, this sport is for fearless people who are not afraid to die, joke! thanks for the time and effort for those who made this flying gadget a perfect design.. thanks for the video you made me feel flying also... God bless and more flying to do.. keep safe
Way cool, I received 2 wings early August, and haven't flown them yet, due to an aggressive fire session and property owners who shut down hang gliding in Eastern Washington. Now I'm about to commit acts of Trustpassing and go fly my Malibus.
What a beautiful wing! Are there any pilots in that area still flying from the old Rogallo days..or from the non-double surface era? They would likely be in their 70’s now.
That is a sweet looking wing. I own a Litesport and have flown both first gen RX and a current one. Moyes gliders are all great! I'm curious to try a friend's Gecko and maybe a Malibu when I get the chance to see one, but not many malibus in Brasil as we have good makers for single surfaces here.

Que hermosura de ala, y muy buen video gracias por compartir👍
I have one. It’s a lot of fun to fly. Especially on the coast instead of the topless I fly inland.

I have a Malibu 2 166 and I absolutely love it but since I got the S3 I don’t fly it much.

Great glider , Very versatile wing.
How does this glider compare to a WW Falcon 4 195 in your opinion?
Nice hang glider. How much is the weight without the pilot?

Hunh, ... looks a lot like a W/W Falcon.
One batten more, and bearings at the tips. Plus the sail cut is different
