    ℹ️About the episode:
After 10 days, it was time to leave Nashville. That's the longest we stayed anywhere, but with the arrival of Charlie last week, we needed some more time. Plus, we loved Nashville! We headed straight for Willett Distillery in Bardstown, KY and stayed at My Kentucky Home State Park. We mentioned in this episode that this is the third state park we've stayed at since getting the new enormous Grand Design Toy Hauler (Momentum 399TH). In fact, there hasn't been one place we've been turned away or didn't fit. Granted, we've been traveling through the Heartland and we mostly stay at RV parks, but so far so good being big. An RV Tour is coming soon and we'll share more pros and cons of these big rigs.

I completely agree on dream coming true when you least expect them. I am a huge country music fan.....have been my whole life. In fact, I was country when country wasn’t cool....LOL... Anyway, I have always wanted to go to the Ope. As luck would have it, I was in Nashville 8 years ago for the birth of my granddaughter. My daughter and I decided to go to the Ope before I had to head home to Colorado. I was blown away because I am a Loretta Lynn Super Mega Fan and she happened to be appearing while I was in Nashville. One of my biggest dream besides going to the Ope was to one day see Loretta Lynn. We had a great night and my daughter couldn’t stop laughing at me as I cried the entire time Loretta sang. What an AMAZING Night!! Thanks for sharing your date night with the KYD tribe and bring back great memories for me. Safe Travels

Driving those hills in Kentucky can be an adventure and i imagine more so hauling a 43 feet Toy Hauler. I spent summer of 1974 in Maysville, Ky selling books door to door. A tough summer but I learned a lot about life and hardships of people with limited means. Thew grow Burley Tobacco in Mason County (Maysville) and there are more millionaires in that county per capita than anywhere else in Kentucky or that was the case in 1974. I shared a room in a boarding house with my supervisor I was 18 he was 19. He had met this girl who was 14-15 and her family were tenant farmers for a large tobacco farmer. This girl had the hands of a 40 year old woman and there were 8-10 family members sharing a house that was probably 500-600 square feet. It made me grateful for the 1500 square house my family of 5 lived in.

With your leveler S put pads and bricks under each pad helps level without wheels in the air. Chopin' tobacki is an important experience (a reason not to smoke). Mr. Cleveland, the farmer and father of my sister's Smith College friend, suggested we follow his day dream to harvest and oust the harvest in the barn. That was tough work which I have treasured in memory during the 50 years since.

When we started training our 4 dachshunds one of the first things we did was train them to come to a whistle. Everytime we blow, they get a treat. A whistle can be heard from further away than a voice. Now we've never lost a dog, but it's nice to have the piece of mind that they will come back. Safety of our animals was our first priority & I can see that Trish feels the same way. Have fun with your new fur baby, training is my favorite part.

Something we do with our pets is put a small luggage tag on their collar with your current campsite location. Ideally, you keep the doors closed... but in those cases when that fails at least someone may have the ability to return your animal to you. When my wife first did this I laughed and teased her about it. But, when someone came a knocking with Sakiri in tow I had to admit she was a genius.

We learned the SAME lesson when leveling. The campsite we are on right now, our tires lifted off the ground 1st try. We had to re-hook up and lower the front jacks so they didn't have as much travel room. It's all trial and error going from a bumper pull to a 5th wheel. We are on the journey with you! Although you are a bit longer than our ARTY.

Get yourself some leveling blocks or cut a 2x12 into 12” squares. Get a rough assessment of your site level and distribute the blocks accordingly. Auto level will detect and adjust, your wheels will stay on the ground. One more thing, watch the extension on your jacks, you only have about 16-18” max extension, but if you stay in the max 9-12” range, the rig won’t wobble and your hydraulics will thank you.
Love the videos ... Charlie is a cutie!

Smiling and watching scenes with the dog and then the horse running along side brings me to share this: There are people who will disagree but I’ve always liked the phrase “a dog and its human(s).” When (my) Dog and I met, he was always excited and hard to control. He was a 1 year old who was just too much for a couple with a young child and newborn. Don’t get me wrong, treats and a leash are absolutely mandatory at times. However, I love being able to quickly “negotiate” with Dog when those things aren’t present (which for us is most of the time). While I am indeed his Alpha, I am also his most trusted friend and adventure buddy. I am not his Master or “Daddy.” When we are out hiking or biking, we often go right through small groups of people. Being half Golden retriever, when allowed, he really loves to meet people. We can be off-leash and there might be a slight moment of hesitation but we will pass without incident, every time. A little heart-felt praise and maybe a pat on the head is all that is required. He is always kind and gentle but he is most responsive to my wife and I. We have earned Dog’s respect. The teen-ager hasn’t taken the time to bond properly… then wonders why Dog isn’t very responsive. Yes, I’ve gotten this to work with various types of dogs, including ones who don’t own me. Bandit (dog) and I are friends/family not hunting partners, true. Remote control can be a bit more “relaxed." Still, we have fooled people who don’t know us (proud smile). Not expert opinion, just “ food for thought.”

We have a 2020 Grand Design 43' ToyHauler w/ auto level. Auto level on our past other two TH's as well.
Grand Design Auto Level so far has been the best operating. Fewer functions, but it runs really good. My advice is though it's 12V DC powered, if you're not plugged in, run the generator when using it. It draws a lot from the batteries and the charger will kick in if needed preventing an overload fault.

Kentucky is a beautiful state. I live in Ohio and we are a beautiful state as well. We are lucky to live in America, some much wonder in each state.
There is a old joke we Buckeyes have about Kentucky in good humor. ( a man fishing on the bank's of the Ohio river at night hears a man on the Kentucky side Yeal across and asked how's the fishing over there? Man on the Ohio side said great! Man on Kentucky side said ,it's horrible on this side! Man on Ohio side tells the man on Kentucky side [ hey swim over here ] Kentucky man said I don't know how to swim. Man Ohio side said no problem, I will shine my flashlight across the water and you walk across the beam. Kentucky man said, you promise not to turn the light off i can't swim! )😁

@@MastersLightHouseProductions it's just a joke just like ( a pickup truck with ten Buckeyes ran off a bridge over the Ohio river, two people in the cab survived. The eight people in the bed of the truck drowned. They couldn't get the tailgate down. )
Laugh more and don't take things to serious and life will be better.
      God bless.

We are originally from Lexington, Kentucky. The most beautiful distillery in the area is Maker’s Mark, you should check it out on your next visit through Kentucky. When we go back to visit our family and friends we always stay at the Kentucky Horse Park Campground, it’s a nice campground with the KY Horse Park just next door. I love the watching all the horses, they are beautiful! But Midway is a beautiful horse farm area as well. 😊 ~Jen

About setup and breakdown with a dog... When we pull in the dog has been trained to sit in the truck until we are ready. If it is to hot we have a 20' lead and hook it up to anything sturdy. When we are leaving we do the same. He just waits. It has been working out just fine.

Hey Marc and Trish; thought I'd share a super fantastic way to help route planning in Google Maps that I learned the other day. Put your route into GMaps, and instead of choosing the Car route, choose Bike and voila when you look at the route details you get your Elevation changes listed. If there are multiple routes available, you can click on each of them to help you find the most Rig Friendly route to your dream destination!

Those Mercedes class C have a collapsing hand brake that you can just push down without releasing the brakes so that you can have it out of the way for stuff like swivel seats. If you pull up and press the release button that then disengages the parking brake.

Just wanted to give you a compliment on how you bring up your new pup Charlie - You give him off leash time, take him with you on outings, but you also have structure and crate train him to be safe when you go off for your date night! Nice job

Caleb has a wonderful way with animals. It's good to see the family with a dog again. Marc needs to close the door though.
And for those who think it's mean, dogs usually enjoy their crates, it's their room, their space. They can sleep there feeling safe and protected. It's not a punishment.

We vicariously live our dreams through you every week. Although we hobby farm and drive tractors, the way you share your memories with us is breathtaking. The drone footage of the countryside and the emotional way you connect with your family is a model for all Americans. To the masses I will say, “Stop. Realize what how blessed you are. Get out and see the things close to you geographically. Share your experiences with those that are less fortunate and give them something of yourself. Anything.”
    Soak, soar, and share.

Caleb racing with the horse reminded me of how Lady ran along side of the fence while the kids rode their bikes along the road. Caleb did a really good job mowing the field like a natural. Sure didn't take much to wear Charlie out. Adorable! The Willett Family were wonderful folks, & seem to make you feel like you were family(ish). Enjoyed your video alot! The Opry was neat!
