Thanks both for a really interesting ‘on the road adventure’. You are the only RUclips bikers that are brave enough to go to Ukraine without a real plan….really enjoyed seeing everyday life in that part of the country. Great to see that your subscribers are steadily increasing. Ride safe!
Brave or stupid?! Either way we get it done! We just love it so much
@@neilurquhart8622 yes, agreed , BUT, for once I do wish he’d let her have her say uninterrupted . After all she IS European!
Love you bye 😎 how many videos have you made ? Keep em coming 👍
Thanks Darren! Hope you’re enjoying our tours…. We will have a new one coming soon 👍
Great video thought you might be stuck in Ukraine thank you for sharing keep up the great work
We were worried when we saw the question for the border! Luckily our motorcycles saved us!
Hopefully this goes a little way in keeping you going on the road. In what are difficult times for me, your videos give me the kick I need as it’s something to look forward to. Thanks both
Thank you so much for supporting us Tim, we cannot do it without you! Don’t worry, if you want anything bad enough you will get it… you’ll be back on your adventures in no time. Thank you, your friends, Rich & Ewa
That was very brave of you!
Thanks so much! You are Amazing! Brave or Stupid we not sure but we love adventure and some times you have to take a chance... We got lucky this time!
To be honest, I don't think I would have gone to Ukraine. And while watching the video I felt a strange mood. On one hand, it's nice to see that life there continues as normal, the supermarkets and restaurants are open as always, but somehow there was a tension in the air as if something could happen in the next moment. Just like in a movie when someone walks into a dark alley and you think to yourself "Yeah... that's it, he's done."
But it was good that you were able to show what it was like to live there despite the war. At least in that part of the country.
So... well done! Looking forward to the rest of the journey. Even if I don't understand every word Rich says, because of his accent. Took me a while to regocnize that "Whoah" means "Water".😂
This is exactly how it felt for us too, we were a little on edge here but all was fine.
Don’t worry even Ewa doesn’t understand everything I say either 🤣🤣
That looked like a bunch of fun…like going back in time riding in the Ukraine…surreal, but cool! One thing I’ve discovered in my travels is that language is no barrier to motorcyclists! Ride on and be safe, Rich and Ewa🙏🏻🏍️👏🍺🇿🇦
With phones now and translate apps, you can get by anywhere in the world
Thank you for sharing your impressions. You are really brave. Happy trails.
Thanks for watching! We wanted to experience this and bring it to you all.
Thanks for showing us a part of Ukraine not bomb damaged .well done for going into a country at war,!!.
My wife is always asking ,is there a new On The Road vid yet..we really enjoy
them,Safe travels,
We would love to go back and explore all of Ukraine when it’s safe to do so, thanks so much for joining us, say hi to the wife from us 👋
This is your best ever vlog.... You deserve many more subscribers, it's gonna be hard to top this one👍
Thank you so much 😀
That was an amazing episode. A nice reminder of how life has to go on for ordinary people while the politicians play their games. Poland and Ukraine look amazing! 🙏👍👍👍
We couldn’t put it better ourselves 🫡
Thanks
Dale! Thank you! You are a star to support us and the channel like this 🫡
37:33 what a stork nest! Fascinating to see it on top of that wooden pole
And at 9:12
@@hotdoug1000 Well spotted!
They are just soo cool! I love them
You’ll see allot of them in Poland
Guys. This vlog/episode of your journey has not only been bang on and up to scratch with all others but also so touching and inspiring to others around the globe.
Your editing is progressing so well and from my perspective, this video was well deserved for the longer content.
I would love longer vlogs like this if possible and more importantly informative content about your days travels. Love you guys. Thank you. Even the Mrs is now absolutely hooked and chasing me for information. ❤
Thats amazing, We here so often that wives and girlfriends are interested in watching even when not bikers, we love that we can give you something to do together and hopefully give you a smile along the way. THanks so much for being with us on the road. You dont think 50 mins is too long for a youtube episode?
definitely not too long. If the content warrants the length of the video then people are always interested. It’s a journey and others want to be involved and part of it with you both.
Thanks bud, we really appreciate your input and support
Amazing well done.
Thank you! Cheers!
Loving this trip Rich & Ewa !! You guys make me smile always in your videos 😁
We love that! Smiles for miles..Cheers
Rather than you than me in the Ukraine, but it's impressive to see that people are still moving on with their lives despite everything. I have to say I think the reason everybody's staring at your bikes is because in your video, I didn't see any bikes but yours . Stay safe guys!
Maybe your right I don’t recall seeing other bikes either 🤷♂️ We will go back to Ukraine when it’s safe and explore more
I will tell you a secret that in this region near the border with Ukraine there are the best turns in Poland for motorcyclists in the Słonne Mountains . As a Pole who had compulsory Russian language in school in the 80s, I have no problem reading the Russian alphabet. No one in Poland learned this language voluntarily, but since it was 8 years and there were homework assignments, something stayed in my head. Watching a Russian movie, for example, I understand about 70%, although I forgot how to speak. It started to remind me a little when I started talking to a neighbor from Kazakhstan.
We hope we can go back one day to explore properly
You can't beat bin bags and chips. Excellent video, as usual. Thank you.
Glad you like them!
This is the best one yet guys. You two have got some balls - not literally of course. Full of admiration for your sense of adventure, you put me to shame.
Cheers bud, it’s just a sense of adventure, we love it!
Great episode, that queue on the other side must have been one of those oh crap moments.
It really was, we took 2 hours to get through the customs bit itself having not lined up for miles before hand, people really are waiting 12 hours there to get through the border
I didn't think that was a good idea. But you both enjoyed yourselves. Glad you got back safely.
Thanks Graham, it was just too close to resist trying to go there
As a follow of your Chanel i wouldn't go there just now, enjoy your time around Europe stay safe take care my best wishes to you from the Philippines ❤️❤️💋💋🌹💪💪🙂😉😀😁🏁🛺🏍️🐑🇵🇭🏴
It was just too tempting for us, we just had to go into Ukraine
Fair play to you two, not many would ride their motorcycles into Ukraine like that just to see what’s there!! You know how to adventure 👍
THanks so much, We were so close its just to tempting! We loved our little ride into the Ukraine, a Very Memorable part of our Tour in Europe
After following you two all over Europe I'm firmly convinced you two should be on the stage, your banter to each other is hilarious, best of luck on that border
Thanks, we don’t half have a laugh together il tell ya
What a brilliant exciting video. Talk about becoming experts in the field of geography and bike riding. Absolutely makes my day when I watch one of the videos. The insight to Ukraine and how one part of the country lives even whilst at war was amazing. Thank you both
Thank you so much Tim, it’s great to have you with us
Wow that was such an interesting video seeing Ukraine like that that's the great thing about your videos it shows another side of countries, I did worry that you would be stuck there never to be seen again 😮 but you came back full of fun and chocolate 🍫 lol , well done both and omg the stork nest that was amazing
I so look forward to your next video ❤
Love you both 💓
We have always promised to show the raw unfiltered reality of our trips, we had no idea what to expect on this one so you found out at the same rate as us! Turns out Ukraine was quite nice!
As always I enjoyed watching, stay safe guys and thank you. 👊✌️
Thanks, you too!
Engines still being made the same way.. Says alot that!. Simple is best.
I like the ride bys, pain to set up though aren't they. 👍
Yes Simplicity will pass the Test of time Every time!
Great episode and great adventure. 👍👍 thoroughly enjoyable.
Glad you enjoyed it
Hi guys!! Many thanks for the mention, we absolutely love following you and its always very entertaining. Glad you bought sweets and chocolate😂😂😂.... We are currently in the Isle of Man for the Manx GP, watching you cos its proper raining! Take great care Andy & Lyn.
Thanks so much guys, we do the same when it’s raining we lay in our sleeping bags and watch a RUclips together. We got to go to the assen TT we have never seen anything like that before and loved it!
I'm really envious of your visit to Ukraine.
I had a trip to Odessa planned, before Pootin put a spanner in the works.
Let’s hope it all goes back to living peacefully soon
Wow you two are so brave going across into Ukraine. I love watching your videos and I'm currently in Hospital recovering from Open heart surgery zoned myself out with my noise cancelling headphones watching your latest vid. Keep up the good work guys I love it. Cheers Andy from Eccleston nr Preston
Hi Andy, thanks for watching, we are both wishing you a speedy recovery, we hope our videos will help pass the recovery time for you and give you a chuckle every now and then 🫡
I want to go visit Ukraine but those long lines in and out are holding me back. You guys seemed to be very lucky. 😁
But thank you for showing us this. 🙏🏻
You should go, Getting in is no problem but yes expect to que on the way out, but it is worthwhile
Wow, what a day trip. No plan, make it up as you go along, and worked out a treat. Excellent👍🏼. Loved the border queue swerve at end😂
Queuing just isn’t for bikers!
50 minute episode. Epic 🙏🏻😁😁
Cheers, that one took some time…
Keep doing what Your doing. It cheers my wife and I up. ❤
That’s awesome! We love that we give you guys both some entertainment 🫡😄
Hi Guys,
You are AWESOME 🤩!
Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
Hey, thanks! Glad your with us. We would love to ride in Australia some day, a amazing country you have
Sorry not commented. Been away. Looking forward to the Ukraine episode
Hi Bud, hope you had a good trip
Cheers. Ukraine border. I would definately do that if i was in poland. Good on you for going. And trying new food
cheers mate
another fab vid both thank you
Interesting place! We loved all the old cars and that they are still running
Love the storks nesting on that telegraph pole.
Such amazing animals, they fly back to the same next from Africa each year
Great vid as usual. Reminds me of the time I went into Mexico from the USA, just a turnstyle to get into Mexico but a 4 hour queue to get back into the USA. Have fun on your travels.
How was Mexico? did you feel safe there?
Was really interesting seeing you venture into Ukraine it’s so nice to see parts of this country still not bomb damaged so sat hope the unrest in the country stops soon for these poor people
In this area of Ukraine its business as usual or at least thats how it feltt in our short trip
Now that was some adventure a hard day in the saddle but going where not a lot go now was something to be proud about.
You both looked so comfortable in the caravan makes a change from living in a tent for so long.
Thanks, we thought hard on this one but we decided it was so close that we had to try to ride into Ukraine for the experience and we are so glad we did it! The Caravan was luxurious compared to our home on the road!
What a great adventure ! Another brilliant video :)
Glad you enjoyed it, we had allot of fun and loved the experience
I remember sitting in an RAF base with rich and a few friends waiting for what felt like hours in blistering heat. I can confirm rich does not like to queue and wait lol.
It’s just not the bikers way Chris 🤣🤣
So were you in the RAF with Rich then?
No it was a Motorcycle Event, Ride to the Wall i think it was?
@@neilurquhart8622 no we did a ride of remembrance in the heat of summer. And we were sat waiting forever
Bloody funny as an Australian watching an Englishman bork and turn your nose up at a warm beer. What a hoot you guys are. Happy travels. Take care.
Is beer warm in Australia then? Surely not?!
@ontheroadadventure now I know your taking the piss! Icy cold, I mean icy cold, winter and particularly summers. Ur summers over 40c.Only the Brits drink warm beer. Ha ha. ATB
@@dazzaoutandabout4870 I think what you call beer we call lager. They were served 'lager". Lager is always served cold. Ale is generally served at room (cellar) temperature. 👍
Warm beer or Lager of any sort is unacceptable to me lol
Its gotta be cold for me...
Excellent vid. A brave real adventure this one .Luv you, stay safe.
Thanks Dave, some times you have to roll the dice and just go for it and see what happens
Absalute brilliant vid.at least you have achieved your goal.nice to see inside like you say to what whats going on at mo.glad your safe.cant believe youve gone so far.👍🤜🤛🏍
Thanks Kelvin, told you we were going all in!
Hi the key to a great adventure is getting lost . But the key to a happy live is a happy wife . ❤ kept smiling you know that life is better when your riding . 😊.
Rolley
All so very true!
Fantastic video, loved every minute you must do another visit. Thanks for sharing. I liked commented, & subscribed 👍
Thanks so much, we would be interested to go back to Ukraine and explore properly
@@ontheroadadventure Thanks again 👍Currently halfway through the recent Wales trip
What an absolutely fascinating day, plus you must have given a few Ukrainians a real buzz to know that people from the UK were visiting their country. On chain cleaning. Diesel blagged from what is left in the pump hoses, into an empty drinks can and with an old tooth brush will clean the chain just fine and EP90 gear oil will lube it perfectly well.
I was thinking about using some diesel but I got the job done, not ideal but some times you have to do what’s necessary
Love it, totally winging it 😅 blagging the shortcut out of Ukraine was a stroke of genius or good fortune 🤔
A bit of both!
You guys are awesome! True motorbike adventure riders. Love it. Enjoy the sweets mates.
Thanks bud, we are just two kids with motorcycles and passports 🤣
Love the storks at 36:47 🐦🔥
Aren’t they amazing!
I'm still watching and very interesting.
But. Something occurred to me.
When I had planned my first visit to Morocco/Algeria it was just after the terrible terrorist attack at the hotel. The Foreign Office advised against travel. We wouldn't be insured and they wouldn't extract us if we got into trouble. In a war zone? Worth checking. Bike insurance?
But respect.
I have a Tutoro for my chain, but if caught out, I'd clean it with my wd40 like you ( mini can ) and I carry a small 3 in 1 with engine oil in it for locks and general luring. I'd use it on the chain.
Really interesting watch team.
Well done.
Ride safe 👍
Yes we realised there were risks involved on this one but some times you have to take a chance in life and we really wanted to go and see a little of Ukraine being that we were so close
@@ontheroadadventure Hats off to you. Bravo!
Thanks bud
Co'r, did I ever love that vid. I laughed and laughed. Wifey kept asking why am I laughing, will you be quieter? In a little town in France, a local old guy(not as old as i am now!!) started talking in French. The onlty words I understood, where resiistaannce,De Gaul an Churcheel!!. My mate was behind him laughing his head off. Couldn't get away from him either. How bloody great you got into Ukraine. You lucky bloody pair
Cheers Jim! Glad you enjoyed it, nothing makes us happier than thinking of other people at home having a laugh with us for a bit and sharing in the joys of travel
Excellent as usual well done guys x
Glad you enjoyed it
Here is your Dutch fan again 😍 I'm not quite sure where to start. First of all, I'm glad you got out of the Ukraine alive and without a Russian missile up your arse. You have to come up with something to attract viewers to your RUclips channel, but turning it into a suicide mission I think is pretty extreme. On the other hand, traffic in the Netherlands is more deadly than a trip to the Ukraine these days. Well Rich, if you hate queuing, then you were definitely born in the wrong country. Maybe you have Dutch ancestors somewhere. No neat queues, but enormous chaos is 'normal' in that little country across the North Sea. That's it for now. Still love you both, bye! And as always: looking forward to the next vid.
lol thanks bud, stay tuned and perhaps we will travel through your lands too very soon 😉
@@ontheroadadventure Good luck riding across the Netherlands. 😇 Should anyone on a blue BMW R1200RT wave at you, it might have been me. Ride safe!
Cheers bud
Well done , another entertaining episode..
Thanks bud
some times i wake up grumpy , other times i let her have a lie in 😂😂
keep up the good work guy , just loving it 👌
Thanks bud 👍🤣
Wow impressive well done.i enjoyed watching that.
Thanks for joining us 🫡
Soooo guys great trip so far ! However you seem to have been distracted Rich from the proposal you made a while ago ??? No mention of that being booked ? I am sure your followers including myself would love an update .... ride safe guys ! Keep up the good vlogs !
Honest answer bud is we poured all our pennies into this tour, We will get it done though 👍
@@ontheroadadventure hey no worries i understand ... my long suffering bike partner and myself got married 2 weeks ago after 6 years so theres time for you yet ! 🤣
Keep entertaining us with your vlogs guys and ride safe ! 🙏
Reality is we put all we have into what we love to do... Motorcycle riding, We love it! See you in the next one
Hi love your videos
Thank you! Glad to have you with us on the road
Hats off to you two for going into a war zone it just shows you that us small people are the same world wide good people anyway the food blogs are best am not eating that anyway safe journey and carry on
Ukraine looks to be a interesting place to explore we will go back when it’s safe and see what’s there
Great stuff guys, really enjoying your channel 😊😊👍👍
Thanks so much!
That was an awesome episode of your journey. I was like a sponge taking in what you were saying. It actually looked quite nice that town you stopped in. Did you ever work out what the cost of fuel was in our money or even the meal you had.
It was an interesting place, Ukraine has allot going for it and I hope it all recovers well soon. We would like to go back and explore properly. No idea what we paid we will have to look at bank statements and try and figure it out
Yet another great video guys. Who needs Itchy Bits when you can watch Ewa and Rich...Fascinating glimpse into life inside Ukraine. You have to admire their fortitude...
Such a interesting place, we wish could go and explore the Ukraine properly
Itchy Boobs, meh
Fantastic day trip
Yes! Fascinating there we would love explore it more
Certainly better watching your videos than the rubbish on television, thanks for entertaining us guys!
Thanks so much bud, really appreciate it
👍
Thanks for watching
Fair play to you guys for doing that trip…..but for me not a chance
How come you wouldn’t go into Ukraine?
@@ontheroadadventure well am shit at languages plus most people don’t understand Broad Scottish. Plus the Cyrillic alphabet just means nothing to me
Im from Devon, Its amazing how many people understand Ewa's English but not me!
He who dares Rodney, he who dares! 👍
This time next year…
Loving the Storks and the nests
Amazing aren’t they!
Can not believe they crash down the ditch when in Wales we overtake on the twisties lol 😜
The roads are often very dodgy though and I think people just get careless because it is straight?
Keep up the good work XX Dale
Thanks, will do!
"We have none of this no idea money" - genius!
Not important I’m sure 🤷♂️🤣
Not sure I am as brave as you two. Drivers in the Ukraine are mad ,the motorway from Kyiv to Poltava is a white knuckle experience! English is spoken widely in the larger towns and cities (all the younger folk I came across have a pretty good level of English) the people are very friendly. Shame the war drags on because it is a beautiful area of Europe to explore.
We would love so much to go back to Ukraine and explore properly
Atomic clock or as named a radio controlled clock that gives a signal from Greenwich and or France
I have no idea how this works but I’m curious now to learn
Brilliant 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks! ☺️
Another great video , i wonder what those birds were with the big nests on the telegraph poles ?
Those are storks, amazing animals they migrate to Africa and in the winter and fly back to their same nest each year
That sky is straight out of The Simpsons!
Top job, if a little barking. I'm not sure I'd cross the border with a woman who lets my airbed down at night 😊
I’d cross universes with this girl 😉
@@ontheroadadventure I'm expecting you will at some point 😜.
Maybe! Although our wonderful planet is challenge enough right now
Great trip guys very impressed with you
Thanks so much! We love to do this
You can write going to Ukrain off your list. Coming back out of Ukrain wasn’t so much as planning it was more like luck coming in ahead of all those cars. I’m not sure if motorcycle theft is a problem there but it would have me uneasy to.
I don’t think we would go back until the current situation is resolved, you are right, getting out again could have been a real problem for us!
I visited Ukraine 4 months before the war kicked off, visited kiev and I did a tour of Chernobyl nuclear power plant, I loved the place and I’d go back at the drop of a hat, great video guys
Wow now that’s an adventure we would love to do!
Hi to you both. I’ve been following your epic adventures for months.
Great viewing, I can only imagine how much work it must be preparing all your videos.
Your Africa Twins , whilst touring, how often do you have to adjust the final drive chains ?
I’m an ex GS guy so not familiar with chain drive bikes.
Keep up the great work.
Safe riding
Neil 👍🏻
Thanks Neil, yes allot of work to do the videos as we are currently but we love to do it. I check the chains every couple days they need cleaning and lubing every 1000m or so I guess
Man that was a trip 🤯
There are some amazing places on this planet and we would love to see as much of it as possible
@37:00 the storks nest on the telegraph pole.
Yes, amazing animals
Well done both, just like travelling from South Wales to North Wales!😂
Yeah same thing really
Love your channel here in New Zealand, you don't mention those massive birds nests on the top of the poles in Poland and Ukraine. We don't have them over here
They are storks and they are all over Eastern Europe.
Those are storks, very impressive birds, they migrate all the way to Africa and then return the next year to the same nest in the same village having flew thousands of miles with no GPS! Amazing animals
Tyre lever🏍️💨💨💨😸👍
For the caravan door?
@@ontheroadadventure yup...that's why so many motorhome snowbirds fit big obvious Fiamma locks to put off thieves because the standard doors and locks are flimsy.... 🏍️💨💨👍🍻
Its crazy you can still go Ukraine its a shame because such nice people and placeas to eat enjoy ride safe
Really fascinating place to visit
Rich they were rochtis 👋🤠👍
Well, I would have been quietly s£$%^&g myself if I had done that. Great vlog. didn't even notice the length.
We were lol, we had no idea if we were being stupid or going to get ourselves into trouble but we wanted to go in badly… Curiously hungry 🤣
That’s it, now I’m having to load up my bike and head off over to Ukraine for lunch, my missus is not going to be happy 🙈
Go for it bud! Its an adventure
(20:33) awe, you never seen trucks like that?. you're going to freak-out, when you see the trucks here. triple 53' trailer on 1 truck
We would love to see that one day
Florida USA awaits you, you have a beautiful home to come to. The allowance of a car with an unlimited gas card. And I would love to show you guys the area of Florida including the Florida Keys, the NASA space Center and airboat ride to go check out the alligators and the fine dining you’ve ever had, all included
I love your sensory overload. Once you crack the alphabet, life is easier. Such welcoming people, adore the place. We’re in Kyiv, which is such a cool city, but the western Ukraine is glorious.
PS - scrap ‘the Ukraine’ it’s ‘Ukraine’ and the first version is Soviet slur..
We would love to come back and explore more here, it was fascinating and different to anything we have seen before
That bit of Ukraine is probably safer than parts of the uk right now.
Definitely don’t clean the chains with wd40 it can get past the seals in the chain and fetch the grease out
lol you could well be right there! We enjoyed the visit to Ukraine and maybe one day we can go back to explore properly
I’m guessing Rich has no panniers on this trip because of your exhaust??
No because on the 2020 model it does not come with the figments for the boxes, we tried to get it and fit to my bike too but it wasn’t possible without spending more and more money replacing the rear rack, top box Honda hand rails etc, I’m hoping to have some soft panniers for the next one. For now Ewa carries the lighter items in there that take room like pillows and sleeping bags
Ewa must probably be different generation from me - we used to learn Russian in the school, that included aphabet. So no issue with reading cyrilic (however Ukrainian is not Russian but the same alphabet - the words in Ukrainian are very similar to Polish - I am surprised you had issues in the shops that are 20km from Polish border - everybody there speaks Polish as well).
Also, when we were in Ukraine (2005-2010) we have experienced queues on the Ukraine side up to 20 hours! So you were really lucky today.
One more thing: Ukraine - like probably other countries - have "poor" and "rich" part - unfortunatelly you have visited the poorest one - the west of Ukraine is the least developed, with little money etc. On positive side: this sh..t war touched the west part the least as well - so they are the lucky ones.
Food in Ukraine is... AMAZING - you just need to know what to order.
We would love to go back and spend more time there when it’s safe to travel there properly
