  • Here we have the beautiful "Maria Cristina Falls" and the sound here is quite deafening with the sheer power of these water falls.. I love going to places like this, and if it was not for the fact that i have a 2 year old child to take care of i would be out all day in places like this.. Here in Iligan City we have about 24 of these waterfalls, and most are in quite remote areas, but as nice as they are one must always remember you are in Mindanao here, as i have been told that out of the 7641 islands we have here in the Philippines, Mindanao is the most dangerous to be on if you are a foreigner, as it's in these remote areas one is more likely to be taken hostage, but i must add this waterfalls is a very safe place to visit, and we sure did have a good time here...

      Hello Bella, yeah we have lots of waterfalls here in Iligan City, and they are so beautiful, but some are quite hard to get to, especially if you have young kids with you, but my Tilly is fast becoming a very fit little girl. and she already has shown her love for the outdoors just like me, so am sure when she's a bit older she will be coming with me on many adventures.. Thanks for watching...

      Hello Derek, no there are not that many Brits here, i have come across a few of them and they all seem like nice people, do you live in Mindanao then? it's a great Island despite the bad press it gets, and i did not know until i got here that Mindanao is actually about the same size as Ireland back in the UK, but Ireland only has a population of about 6 million i believe, but here in Mindanao we have something like 21 million, cheers mate, thanks for your comment...

    Wow, That looked amazing! I love to go to places like this also. I have three children, so I know the difficulties you have when wanting to go out. I would be out everyday as well if it were not for having to take care of them. They have yet to see the beauty in these things and want only to play in the water itself!
    Keep safe there and always keep your head on your shoulders!

    • @ABritInThePhilippines
      @ABritInThePhilippines  8 лет назад +1

      Hiya mate, oh it can be a nightmare taking little kids out here in the Philippines, they get tired so easy and the heat here is also another major factor, and us fair skin people cant stay out in the sun for too long lol, but having said that i have heard more Filipino people moaning about the heat here than i do, and that's saying something ha ha, but being serious now, i think the answer to my problems is to get a car, and i am seriously thinking about it now, thanks my friend, have a good day there...

      Have you not been to Iligan City yet Sean? it's a great city with many places one can visit.. The only downside for me here is the climate, it's way too hot for me, but i cope with it just about lol.. The people are really nice here and don't believe all the bad things you may here about Ilgan, if it was not safe here i would take my daughter and leave.. Thanks for watching...

    Mesmerising! Those giant twin falls and the strong current down the rapids from the rugged mountain terrains with the rumbling sound of the drifting waters are simply magical. It a shame this clip got short-lived. Nevertheless, I find this video fascinating. Keep it up Carl!

    • @ABritInThePhilippines
      @ABritInThePhilippines  4 года назад

      Yeah this video was a bit shorter than my usual ones from the waterfalls, but when you are actually at this waterfall there is not really anywhere one can roam around, once you are sitting down and having a bite to eat you sort of just get stuck down there if you know what i mean, and that's why i did not film so much, but there is a nature park close by and part of this place, which we also went to, and i filmed that place for some time.. Thanks for watching...

    • @ABritInThePhilippines
      @ABritInThePhilippines  8 лет назад +1

      Yeah it can a bit worrying at times MS, but i never let nothing stop me from living my life, because if you did that then the bad guys would be winning me thinks, a lot of people say Iligan is a dangerous place, but i find it quite tame compared to where i was born and bred, and i really like it here, the people of Iligan are some of the nicest people you could meet, and i'm not just saying that as they really are, cheers mate, pleased you liked the video...

    • @sitonatree1
      @sitonatree1 8 лет назад +1

      ***** You are so right .. no where is safe from bad people who want to harm you as recent events around the world have shown , and just today one of our MP's has just been shot or stabbed in a outside London ..we had the IRA bombing us and taking hostages back in the 60s and70s and 80s and our grannies and parents had Hitler bombing so its pot luck .. lol . enjoy a great evening Carl :) ms

    • @ABritInThePhilippines
      @ABritInThePhilippines  8 лет назад +1

      Yeah well said MS, if we were to stay in the house hiding every time something bad was going on in this world we would never go out would we lol, but being serious now, i heard about that politician "Joe Cox" i am listening to it now on 5 live radio, what a tragedy and such sad news, my thoughts go out to her young family, but life is for living mate, be happy many thanks for coming back, have a good one and keep safe...

    • @ABritInThePhilippines
      @ABritInThePhilippines  8 лет назад

      Hiya Lisa, it's lovely to see you here, and pleased you found this channel, yeah i added a playlist on one of my music channels as lots of my friends over there seemed to think this was some sort of a secret channel lol, but it's not, i just don't push my channels down my friends throats if you know what i mean, so i added that playlist so they can casually come over for a look if they want, but since i put that playlist on there my views and subs have gone right up. I've been going off my music channels a bit as i am enjoying this channel more these days, but i do still love my music.. Hey thanks for your comment, and i hope you have a good day at work my friend...

      Oh OK Derek, i am hoping to go to Davao City myself in time, but it's two coach rides from here in Iligan, i could fly there but i don't actually like flying that much, and if i could get back to England without flying then i would, but it's rather a long walk from the Philippines lol, cheers mate...

  • @WyeExplorer
    @WyeExplorer 8 лет назад +1

    Hey Carl...them waterfalls are something else. The amount of water flowing down that river after its fallen and they have a swing bridge also. If you want a thrill be there and walk that bridge. Cool place bro. Mark.

    • @ABritInThePhilippines
      @ABritInThePhilippines  8 лет назад +1

      Hiya Mark, so good to see you here mate, hey we were not allowed on that bridge as i tried to go on it lol, this is a great place, and just in this city alone we have another 23 waterfalls, but they are not all as big as this one, but i think my favourite of the ones i have seen is Tinago Falls, but it's a bit of a trek with a 2 year old with ya, but i am hoping to go back to there soon with just Yvonne, and i tell ya Mark you would love the hike to get to Tinago Falls, it's awesome around there, thanks my friend, have a good day...

    • @WyeExplorer
      @WyeExplorer 8 лет назад +1

      ***** Morning Carl. I am looking at it now the Tinago Falls. It means 'Hidden' in Filipino. So I guess it is a bit of a place to get to. It would be amazing to visit the remote areas of that part of the world one day and if I were there you would be one of the first calls. Any way, Carl take great care of you and all. Mark.

    • @ABritInThePhilippines
      @ABritInThePhilippines  8 лет назад

      I thought you would look it up Mark lol, you are like me, an adventurer through and through, it is a bit remote, and me and my partner was talking about going back there only last night, but it would be too much for my daughter with the heat, but physically she is very fit and strong for her age, but the heat always wears ya down.. Yeah that would be something you and me on a trek over here, you would make some good videos over here mate (smile) cheers my friend...

      @ABritInThePhilippines  3 года назад

      Oh that is strange, i have been here a few times now and they have never asked me for anything like that, in fact the last time i went here they were closed due to Martial law etc, well the security actually opened up for me, and i was on my Trike at the time, and i got a driven escort down to the waterfalls just so i could take a few pics etc, and i thought how nice that was of them, but i gave the guard, my escort a few peso to thank him for his kindness.. Thanks for watching...

      Well if i truly thought me or my family were in danger here i would move immediately as i could live anywhere in the Philippines, but i feel very safe here, and i am always out and about, am not an expat who hides behind his front door, i go everywhere around here, i travel by jeepney, by taxi, by coach and ferry, but more importantly on foot, so am sure you will be fine and so will your family if you ever come here, thanks for coming back...

      We have had quite a bit of rain down here Jim, we are mainly getting it down here at night which is always better. i filmed this on Saturday, i had a really nice time over there, but it was very hot and my little girl started to get a bit stressed out so we did not stay as long as i wanted too, but she comes first every time, cheers mate...

    No I haven't yet, my work commitments at the time only aloud me one week in the Philippines, which my girlfriend meet me in Cebu, now I'm trying to save money to get her here to Australia for 3 months, but work is very quite, Iligan is definitely on the to do list

    • @ABritInThePhilippines
      @ABritInThePhilippines  4 года назад +1

      Yeah that's how i started off, well my first visit here was for 10 days, but i was in the process at the time of starting up my own little business venture, i got quite a big house back in the UK and i decided to turn the upstairs into long let rooms, so that's how my stay here is funded, otherwise i would still be back in the UK working, but i have family there who help run things for me like collecting the rent money and paying it into my bank, and i have been here 8 years now so my little business venture has kept it all going, just about lol, but if you have your own property there in Australia you could always rent it out which would fund a longer stay for yourself here.. Thanks for coming back mate and good luck with raising the funds...

      @ABritInThePhilippines  8 лет назад

      Hi Cheril, hmm am not very good at the names of areas around here, but from Iligan City center, follow the main road past "Tomas Cabili" and i think i have spelled that right, and you will find it on your left, as you get nearer to it i think you will see a direction sign, it's very nice and relaxing at these waterfalls and a nice day out, thanks for stopping by...

They also use a type of shuttle vehicle to transfer you from the waterfalls to the park, hey when you go have a fun time...

      It's actually the hydro power station when we get all our electric from, and it's this waterfall that creates the electric, but yeah i agree with you it's not a pretty site, and i have been saying for a long time now that i can't see why the Philippines don't use more solar power to generate the electric, as sunshine is one thing they have in abundance here, cheers Dan...
