IMPORTANT:
-The gear is sinking into the ground because of changes to the aircraft.cfg. THIS IS NOT QUALITY WINGS FAULT!! I'm still testing out the best values for softening the shock absorbers.
This is a REPLAY!! THE INSTRUMENTS DON'T WORK CORRECTLY.
-The high fps-rate is the result of a special recording method.
-I'm flying in real-time. Some mistakenly think I'm flying in slow-motion. Only the replay is slowed down to 1/2, 1/3 or 1/5 speed while recording the screen. The resulting video file is then sped up accordingly (*2, *3 or *5) to get the original time while having 60+ fps.
-I won't provide any settings or files. Most tweaks are easy to find on the internet and they should be applied carefully depending on each individual system.

Kristoffer Thorsheim I love FSX. IDK why people think it's dead. Your comment is true and I wonder that aswell.
I think biggest reason is that it is quite old and runs on 32bit. Memory issues are quite high with today standards and we P3D and X-Plane both run on 64bit which is standard on today software. Also optimization is quite bad.
Still tbh this is maybe the best looking FSX video I've ever seen. I am honestly amazed!

Honestly one of the most beautiful FSX videos I’ve ever seen. I recently picked up Steve’s DX10 Fixer + Shadows plugin for my FSX Steam Edition and have been enjoying the improved graphics and performance (even for an almost 13-year-old simulator). The skies look even more inviting now.

The cloud shadows have many drawbacks but I've never thought this could be remotely possible in FSX!
Yea if I remember correctly there are some settings that need to be adjusted in order for them to work correctly, plus they only work after a certain altitude but nonetheless it looks awesome.

I have one doubt about your recording proccess: do you record the default of FSX replay system or use another method/program to record all those scenes and flights? I wish to start record my flights just like your videos but I have this doubt. Hope you can answer and help me!

The default replay system is crap. Unusable for that kind of video. This also applies to P3D. You need FSRecorder for FSX. FSFX Packages are currently working on a recorder for Prepar3D.

Brilliant as always, never cease to be amazed what you still manage to squeeze out of FSX! I'm sure you probably know, but FSFX are developing an in-sim recorder for their amazing Chaseplane camera product, which will work in P3D. Maybe what you have been waiting for?

Just asking, what frame rate do you get? Great video!
Hard to say, it depends on the scenery and cloud coverage...I'd say around 25-30fps at big airports with the 787 and no autogen + normal scenery settings.
No problems with VAS limitations? Amazing. I am plagued by those right now. Thinking of moving to P3dv4.
There is no FSX without VAS problems. You should move to P3Dv4. There is no real reason to stay on the ancient FSX.
Looks great, but wondering why tug changed type between 1:04 and 2:24.
Good eyes! That's because I restart the sim several times for the different views and GSX randomly selects one of the available pushback trucks for each pushback request.

was denkst du über den FSLabs A320? Lohnt er sich oder nicht?
Naja...der Preis ist eine ziemliche Frechheit. Die Systeme sind zwar super umgesetzt, aber alles andere (von Grafik über Performance bis zum Sound und Fahrverhalten am Boden) finde ich bei diesen A320 schrecklich, ist aber Geschmackssache. Er wird eigentlich überall in den höchsten Tönen gelobt, dem kann ich mich so nicht anschließen. Hab ihn vor einiger Zeit in den Hangar verbannt. Lies aber lieber mal ein paar Reviews oder sieh dir Videos an, ich will dich nicht vom Kauf abhalten. Ist nur meine persönliche Meinung.

Don't switch to FSX! It is very old and dying, you should switch to Prepar3Dv4 instead. System requirements can be found on the Prepar3D website.

How you like the 787? I have had heard mix reviews.
I love it. It's now my favourite aircraft addon. There are some small bugs and problems that will be fixed soon. The aircraft has some problems following the LNAV and tends to overshoot turns. Also the ILS seems to fail at some airports. QualityWings has confirmed these problems and they are working on hotfixes and a service pack. This is pretty normal but some people are way too impatient.

How is Reshade installed in FSX? Are you using DX10 Fixer and FSX SE? I've tried installing it but always get a CTD...

Naja, P3D läuft ja auch auf DX11...kann also nicht funktionieren und ist auch sinnlos. DX10 Scenery Fixer ist dafür da, die Grafikfehler im FSX zu beseitigen, die beim "DX10 Preview Mode" entstehen. Die Schattenauflösung kann man in den P3D-Grafikeinstellungen ändern.

Ich kann nur von P3Dv4 sprechen und da gibt es im Grafikmenü bei "Beleuchtung/Lighting" einen Schieberegler "Schattenqualität/Shadow quality". Je weiter rechts, desto besser die Auflösung und desto mehr Einfluss auf die Bildwiederholungsrate.

How did you get ENVTEX and REX Soft clouds to work together?
Very realistic looking, great work! I'm surprised that you can get that out of FSX since I run out of memory before I can get much of a high quality flight like that. Hoping P3Dv4 will fix it, but I'm having issues getting that running to the level it should. This inspires me to keep tweaking it though, great job.

If you like a sim for video production, then yes. You can't fly with all the graphics settings at maximum. This is just for my videos and requires a special recording method. I'm using low-medium settings for the original flight. Since I'm constantly changing settings, a video wouldn't be very helpful. What you see is basically every graphics option set to maximum.
So in your sim you dont see it as good as that right or you sort of do?
Sort of...it still looks very good but I usually turn off autogen (trees and houses) and set the scenery details to normal. I prefer maximum performance for the instruments and flight dynamics.

Kann ich nicht mehr genau sagen, weil das Video jetzt schon einige Monate alt ist und ich FSX nicht mehr benutze. Ich hatte aber meistens so 25-30 fps bei größeren Flughäfen und oft über 80fps im Reiseflug

Question, how do you deal with virtual memory crashes on fsx? U have an even more powerful computer, hense better settings, so you are probably more prone to get this error. Thanks.
PC specs have nothing to do with OOM errors. It doesn't matter if there's 8GB, 16GB or 32GB RAM available, FSX can only use 4. When I made these videos in FSX I restarted the sim for every view (wing, cockpit, external ect.). Most of the time I didn't have OOMs during the video production. The original flights were all done without autogen. I don't have that problem anymore since I'm now using P3Dv4 (which is 64bit, so no memory restriction).

I don't use FSX anymore but I never had problems with Orbx lights and DX10

This is the original boxed version (which came on DVDs). FSX is dying or already partially dead so I highly recommend the new version of Prepar3D (v4) instead!
