Was quite an interesting discussion!!Im 60 And they are 30 years younger!Summed up my opinion by saying only Jessie j can sing a Whitney Houston’s song as good as Whitney could sing it!!!
I feel compelled to say that Jessie not only did this justice, but didn't overdo it. Her runs, stylistic choices, and overall performance can, at times, be too much; this is definitely not the case here. Each note was plucked from the harmonious heavens above and delivered with emotion, love, and dedication to her craft as an absolutely riveting vocalist. Until now, I've heard many covers and thought I knew which was my favorite. Now I know, without a doubt, that this is my favorite cover of Purple Rain. Prince would be so proud!
