What a great tune up procedure. The key instead of just "increasing the pump rack" is the combination of the total integration process. Great idea. I'm an old retired driver that always tuned the racks on my Cummins 444. Love the tire coloring on the big rig. Keep up the good vids.
While working at Arnold’s Equip in 1974, my two cousins, brother and I were walking past the tire shop after lunch. Two men had a tall tractor tire in a tire cage. Hitting the tire trying to set the bead. The pressure was 97 psi when we stopped. They hit it with a sledge hammer a several times while I was watching. That was enough for me. I went to the next building and started back to work. About 20 minutes later we heard a LOUD explosion and thinking the shop was gone we ran back. The tire shop was still there and the pressure gauge read 103psi. It was the loudest noise I’ve ever heard. Pounding on steel tank very sketchy. Glad Y’all survived.
I have JD 8270R from 2010 fully tuned to 380hp, no issues have occured in 9 years, and i love the power with powershift 16speed transmission, on asphalt it spins the rear wheels if the awd is not turned on.
I have heard horror stories about people Turning up the power on tractors with chips. What you did is the better option for your machine and the budget. We run a johndeere 8420 that we had tuned to be able to pull our chisel plow. We purchased a 500 quadtrac last week for pulling our 40 foot digger and brillion packer . We are runing a case 1245 planter for beans and a kinze 3600 central fill interplant planter for both corn and soybeans. . We planted 60 acres of soybeans as a test on tues. Nice video stay safe and farm on my friends!
When I worked offshore we had a lot of crushed tanks and one of the engineers from the office told me that as long as you didn't go much over 5 PSI that you were pretty safe.
Yeah, 5 psi does not sound like very much but applied over that large surface... that is a lot of force looking to find a weak spot... like a sharp fold that Dougo was pounding on lol.
SAFER WAY TO PRESSUIZE THE FUEL TANK. Fill it with water, so the amount of potentially explosive energy is much, much less. If it is filled with water, there is only a very small amount of compressed air in the tank, and it's the uncontrolled release of compressed air that can cause untold damage. With the hydrostatic method (using water) if the tank is over pressurized and does 'explode', instead of the tank ripping wide open and flying across the yard possibly causing a lot of damage to the shed and other things, it will only rip open right where it stands. Doing it this way could save a life.
Overclocking tractors! So cool. I've overclocked my CPU and graphics card on my computers. It is amazing how much more performance you can safely get from stock mode.
Hey Chet this tank kinda reminds me of just the opposite, I was hauling liquid cow manure and I was transferring from a tanker to a field injector which held 6800 gallons on we could fill that in about 3 minutes and I forgot to open the vent, we were standing there talking and in a split second we collapsed that tanker like a beer can it collapsed the front and rear of the trailer..I bet the stupid look on Mike and myself face was priceless needless to say trailer was junk.
We put a Steinbauer on our 600 made a difference pulling our tile plow and our chisel plow set up for anhydrous. We do have to watch it so we dont turn the nob too far!
Try adding heat, grain dust, air pressure, ear plugs, eye protection simultaneously and a wind sock so you’ll know which direction it will be departing
Yeah I just can't get enough of that 8520/ 8.1L "bark". They just sound awesome! You think there's any chance you guys could post an uncut version of that Dyno pull? Just for the nerds like me😀
I would have used water and an electric pressure washer to expand that tank. If the tank ruptured it would be a lot less explosive because of the hydraulic properties of water vs the compression factor of air. 🤔
Yeah low pressure/high volume can be very deadly. I have seen safety films where they take both trucks out into the desert pressure them up to about 15-20 PSI then shoot them with a 306. It's an impressive BOOM ! which is a nice way of saying that what those guys were doing with that fuel tank is more dangerous than I'm sure they realized.
@@theredheadramblertakeii5622 I dunno if it was more dangerous then they realize, they were scared to put more then 2 psi in it and they ran pretty dang fast for older guys once they turned it on, they knew it was dangerous
Fuel tanks are designed to accommodate 3-5psi pressure. The fuel cap will vent at 3-5 also... which was still installed on the tank. Hydro forming the tank would have worked better though. Didn’t scare me! 😂
Ingénieux système de réparation du réservoir à carburant et tout le monde y va de sa participation👍😉 Préparation moteur sur le tracteur, juste le top😍 C'est sur un tracteur neuf?
These Eastern European farmers have been hacking their own machinery for years. As soon as you couldn't fix it with just tools. I hope their programming reset is real good as the manufacturers can tell if it hasn't been done well and good warranty. There's a big "Rite to repair" movement for people to fix their own property without being beholden to the company's.Great vid as always.ThankQ.TkEZ>UK
Hey brother that will make a big big difference for sure on getting them turned up and I think it's great because your machine gets to work the way it was really meant to be a little more Hustle and a lot more muscle 10-4 my good brother... hey man that was cool pressure with the tank I wonder if you heated that big dent up pretty good and through a few pounds in it Maybe stretch it back out either way hell yeah man you guys are freaking awesome bro I'm glad to be on your Channel you be seeing a lot of me✊✊👍👍👍👍👊👊
Curious on what happened to the tank to get crushed? You guys seem to be always having fun. The way it should be. Also run good JD equipment. Can never go wrong there. God Bless and Happy Easter
I know a guy that did that on a aluminum fuel tank on a semi , blew the end off shattered his hip ! Walked with cane and a shoe with a 4in sole til he died ! P.S. he was beyond a clean freak and a extreme tightass !
Did Dougo rip the steering wheel out of the terra gator as well? 😂🤣 You guys need about a half mile of air line and set it in the middle of the field and let her have it until you got it back to a complete cylinder.
@@markjay662 I might be mistaken . I am working in Eastern Europe and Scandinavia and I thought that the tuning software was coming from the Netherlands or from Czechia .
Dougo need to go to the hospital n get his head examined after that tank deal.if that blew that little door n metal building would never have protected them.i seen a little air tank go threw a garage roof.liked the tune ups.
Just a guess middle Europe, it can be hard to tell exactly what his native language is. But most likely middle...just listened again. Czech maybe so technically eastern. But he's been speaking English for along time
Do you think if you were to fill the tank with water and let it freeze it would push the tank out by expansion?? ....I think you'd just have to immediately bring it indoors to warm up and melt the ice so it didn't over expand...
Hi there. Really enjoying your vids and your farming journey. I only recently discovered them so I'm not sure who us who. You are Chet Larson, that I know. How are the others related to you?
How about a powertune on the floor-scrubber ? 🔥
this man is a SALESMAN. took over the intro for chet and put the full description of everything he did. LOL. Nice vid!
Ha ha, I love Dougos comment "Can't everything stay clean". I wish all farmers would have that attitude.
I was glad to see at least one beer involved in the pressurized tank dent repair...
Funny, around here we judge jobs around the house by # of beers.
Sweet video. Chet and Dougo together, omg what a pair. Sure brightens my day. Thank you
Chet is so genuinely interested and Dogo has all the experience ... a natural
This man gave a full commercial speech without even being asked.
that's the elevator pitch. everyone wanting to make money should have one - 30 seconds or less....
Dude's crazy tapping on a pressurized tank like that
Dougo is one good teacher of farm equipment repair. I get smarter after each video!! Thanks .
Hahahah, still laughing at Dougo going to hit the tank with the sledge, but backing away when the tank crinkled

Was Dugo in the Terra gater and awesome job on the tank I'd use it for fuel again 👍🍻
Hey guys. Just wanted to say thank you so much for producing the amazing videos that you do. You have inspired me to start creating my own videos.
Zero-Till Farmer just checked out your first video. Great job!
Great to see Larson Farms helping to get other folks going
I just seen the informants kits on a 8 203 interrogator and a John Deere tractor that's really something nice
I have JD 8270R from 2010 fully tuned to 380hp, no issues have occured in 9 years, and i love the power with powershift 16speed transmission, on asphalt it spins the rear wheels if the awd is not turned on.
Loved the inside out tank portion.
Great video thanks
Even better when reading the captions!
Chet was great to learn a little more about you guys on the podcast , your a old school sole !
Larson farms is really doin it

I never seen that before with big gas tank blowing air in to it. It was interesting and funny 😄
Expanding that tank was insane no way I would’ve tried that
...air pressure we take it for granted ... yet so powerful
Entertaining, yes. The PTO into the van is super cool. Your northern accent is , as always, refreshing to listen to. full speed ahead !!!
Looking forward to see if the tuneup make things go the way you expect

Straightening the fuel tank..... What could possibly go wrong? Captain Al from Tampa😎
Larsons playing with a bomb! Yeeee!! 😁
The look on Chet's face is priceless ! HA HA . How he didn't piss his pants laughing is besides me !
Happy Easter Larson Family....Nicole, thanks for the Easter Upload! Chet, it would be a good day to build something nice for your gal!!

Expanding that tank wasnt even a little sketchy ! Lol
Fill the tank with water and use the pressure washer.👍
Chet- "Let her buck!!"- hoping for a great RUclips video when it blows... 😂
8520 looking mint! The biggest tractor I have is a 8430.
You should have use a garden hose water works like a charm much safer 👍
Wonder how many people have tried driving forward over a pit with a terragator
Really cool software !!

I assume Dugo wrecked the steering wheel in the terra gator also 😂😂
and that shattered windshield sitting beside it might mean something happened that caused all the collateral damage???

Ok, Dougo, "Don't try that at home!" Good video Chet. Interesting how that Dyno process works.
Great video content 👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Are you tuning Nicole’s tools? and don’t forget that Dodge with the rotary shifter maybe they can tune the loose knut behind the wheel 😉
Awesome!!!!
very interesting video learned a lot great job
très belle exploitation agricole vous avez du materiel magnifique et un atelier digne d'un garage un petit bonjour de la france
Can you do a complete farm equipment tour of everything implements tractors etc..
At least Chet's curiosity didn't get the better of him to see the inside of the tank.!!!
Great video
Cool video. 💪👍🏼
I don't think you could find a easier guy to interview.
Great video awesome info on the tune of the tractor!
Has Dougo been at the steering wheel on the Terra gator also!! Lol
Prayer works!
Happy Easter
Without changing it.! How do you SINK IN an injector, and other 'physical' items.?🤔?.
So when the EPA asks this tractor will only be used for racing or tractor pulling from now on. wink wink

hope the 8.1 handles the extra power, they had some issues delaminating pistons
Happy Easter 🐣 great video
I guess it's safe to say , Dougo strikes again. This time on the terra gator.
Interesting

probably forgot the vent when pumping it out.
14:58 that must be stressful in a 3 wheeler! 😂
One fire cracker about the time Duggo hit that tank with the sledge and you would of had a $100,000 home video . Let r buck!!!!
Happy Easter, to Larson Family!
Love 8520s, run 2 of them. Better than any R series!
Well that make the 8520 pull the planter like a breeze
No idea. It’s going to help.
I run a S680 combine and a 8360R John Deere tractor and combine

Wow that was daring what you did on the gas tank. Lol
So did you notice measurable fuel savings after this tune ?
Here...let me just tap this with the BFH....
(Whisper....tank goes ping)
Whoa....nevermind....I am going back in the shop. 🤣😂
The gas tank was the best
Did Dougo get a hold of the steering wheel in the territory also?
