i remember my 4s was DOG SLOW, completely unusable. If you compare a xs with a 16 pro is night and day compared with how we had to suffer in the past 😂
iPhone XS is still usable on iOS18 and is decently fast(from my experience, I've owned 13 pro and XS at the same time, of course XS is slower but they do everything the same and there is no night and day for me though)
Crazy how 4s to xs is similar length of time from xs to 16 pro

What’s interesting is I have a mint 4s on iOS 6 and it performs so much better than iOS 9. Same with an iPhone X I have one running iOS 12 and while it can’t download much apps anymore it’s much faster than on iOS 16. I think these older devices did get bogged down with updates. It’s funny how we have the same amount of RAM on iPhones now as storage back then.
I agree, i got my iphone 7 plus and it’s on ios 12, it’s much faster, apps are okay, jailbreak helps a lot and it doesn’t overheat at all unlike iphone 7 on ios 15

I still have my iPhone 4s from high school. Still turns on and running iOS 6
I think it’s best you left it on iOS 6 cause iOS 7 really made it quite slow but it was still usable. It was iOS 8 and iOS 9 that really killed the 4S.
@@Adamtendo_player_1 yeah i never plan to update it or even connect it to wifi again because i don’t want any apps to refresh. I like to leave it stuck in time. I can still scroll down twitter, facebook, mail etc from its last refresh over 10 years ago.
the iphone 4 style is still beautiful especially on the sides. ios 9 is a pain on that s though. the phones that aged well are the 6s & first SE.
The phone design is kinda similar just way bigger n more lens
Still have my 4S in white. Couldn't bear to sell it because it's probably my favourite iPhone design aside from the size. It's just a beautiful piece of hardware.

Just upgraded to iPhone 16 pro max from the original iPhone SE (2016) model which was an upgrade from the iPhone 4S. I am blown away by 16 pro max as it simply beats the SE in every single respect apart from pocket ability! I see a lot of negative stuff said about the iPhone 16 as I think expectations have become far too high. I feel there are less and less big jumps in new design/technology to be had year to year but the current 16 pro max is a stunning device in its own right. It will be interesting to see where Apple will go in the next few years but I may wait another 8 years to upgrade and get that big wow factor again in 2031!😀

I never had a 4S but I had the 4 as my first smartphone (my first 3 phones were from Verizon, basic phones before I switched to Straight Talk) and it was one my dad gave me that he was no longer using as he upgraded to the 5. The one I had was on its last legs as the battery life was so bad that I would be easily at 10-20% even under light usage after a 12 hour shift on the first job I had. The sounds wouldn’t work unless it was calls and the alarms alongside the Wifi never connecting so I had to be on data all the time. I remember having to be so careful with how much I was even on the Internet and looking through my emails, not doing it too often or else my high speed data would run out and slow down to 2G.
It is definitely a steal 😅😂

The iPhone has come a long way! The iPhone 4s was my first iPhone. I really enjoyed it but when I started upgrading each new phone would purchase was better than the previous generation. I usually upgrade two or three years.

I'm still using my 4S, I kept it as i cracked one of the corners a little bit. But I use it as an iPod, it works perfectly fine.

The pricing there is totally off, that had to be the price with the carrier deal. I remember at the time, iPhones were still exclusive to certain carriers and couldn't just be bought in any random tech store unless they were second hand.
My sister had an iPhone 4s, I went with her to buy it. She bought it outright on the o2 network, and it was €499 in the 8GB variant. Absolutely silly money for a phone at the time, given that android alternatives were half the price.
Now, €1000+ phones have almost become standard.
I have a 16 pro max and I can totally see a difference between it and the 15 pro max with the bezels.

13 Mini is also a physically larger phone apart from just having drastically thinner bezels, 4s makes 13 Mini not a mini phone lol

I've always been an Android guy but when I met my girl 10yrs ago she was still rocking a 4s then she got a 6s plus then 12 and now she's still rocking a 13
My first smartphone was an iPhone 4 and the other ones I’ve owned have been the 5S and 6 before having my current 8 Plus the past four years. I’m about to upgrade to a 15 so I’m preparing for major changes. I bet she probably felt the same way going from a 6S all the way up to a 12

while is true that is significantly slower you must take into account that this phone was well known as purposely slowed down by apple on ios 9 even back at the time people was complaining
The 4S was supported for way too long and the complaints about Apple slowing down older iPhones started with the iPhone 5 and 5s.
