My father attened a church in Texas ( mostly Caribbean people) where all the members names where written down on a board for everyone to see. They will collect money every Sunday for three years, then when the time is right, they will buy a house for the person who's name is next on the list. I was so shocked! Of course these were modest homes, but a home non the less.

I have been in Canadian church since 2018 and never regret it . Their love was so much for me . We have a storehouse for anything for those who in need like the one you share. They paid my house rent when I don’t have a job here in Canada . Imagine that ..!!!. I am happy when I paid my tithe and offering because I knew they got my back ❤

I am a Jamaican living in New York. I cannot attend any other church but Nigerian...well not that I can't but for me it is Nigerian sha. WORSHIP AH! Where else? If you know tell me. Even if you miss the word (not that you should) know that your life is blessed through praise worship and this may sound crazy but it is also the reason why I would live in Nigeria-
Fresh meat from the market and PRAISE WORSHIP.

The parameters for choosing a church to attend is not just ONLY humanitarian. The focus should be on spiritual growth, the words of God shaping, nurturing and preparing you for eternal life. In California, we do have some African churches that have access to the food bank and provide all sorts for living to their members and nonmembers. I understand that some of our churches are culturalized but we still have good ones. We can’t compare them as the Canadian churches may even have access to government fund which Nigerian churches may not explore. Remember it’s their land. Attending two-year school of ministry in white church opened me up to the truth that God is for all regardless of your color. We are the one carrying our Nigeria mentality to Nigeria churches causing drama. We behave ourselves in white churches and follow their norms. Yes, we are to live in love; absolutely. However, your focus should be: Is the Lord leading my family there? Do they preach undiluted words of God there? What are the area for me to impact the kingdom? May the Lord help us!

I have lived in Canada for 28 years and have attended both Canadian and Nigerian Churches. I ended up settling with the one where the full unadulterated word of God is preached. By the way the Church does not buy all that groceries, they are freely donated by the grocery stores. The stores are mandated to throw away expired and soon to expire foods. But some individuals and charitable organizations can request to be given the soon to expire food items with the promise that it will be consumed in a few days before they expire. This organizations collect these foods at their own risk, and they make every effort to ensure they give them all out before they expire. So if you carry so much and they end up expiring in your house and cause food poisoning to anyone in your family, they will not be held responsible.

Wow this is love in action. This is faith in practice. Their faith is not dead but very much alive.
I hope our African churches will learn from this and stop demanding. There will be no need for Alter calla. This will do the alter calls and eventually to soul winning.

@@elizabethgilman5575Your info is a bit distorted. The food items come from manufacturing companies that produce them and they are donated to America's food banks as a way of social responsibility, and churches that are fully registered are the best avenue for distributing them to the public. That is why the churches give them out regularly so they do not go bad. They are not necessarily left overs from grocery stores although that cannot be ruled out completely

Neze, nice to watch you and your happy family again. Since you are familiar with Nigerian churches already back home, my candid advice for you will be to try the Nigerian Canadian church at least for a change. Secondly, the comparisons are there for all to see and for you to make up your mind. Having lived in abroad for over 30 years and witnessed their modus operandi the Nigerian churches operate, please refrain from their churches, I mean this with all due respect. Most Nigerian churches, both at home and abroad are there for their own selfish gains. As far as they are concerned, churches are a business, may I say a "family business." They don't practice love, there is no such thing as love, they do not worship God or Jesus Christ as their saviour, they rather worship their so called pastors, they can only see you for what they can get from you or out of you. Neze, you are a very clever, wise, sensible and INTELLIGENT young lady. Please take your family to a church where you will feel more COMFORTABLE and LESS STRESSFUL, BIKO, NWANNEM.

It was also a full church, very full actually and I sensed a bit of competition amongst the Nigerians (couldn't understand It though). I later found an American church 4 mins away from my house and attended, it was full but not as full as the Nigerian church but the difference for me was the level of warmth and reception we got. There was no sharing of food like yours but there were snacks and drinks for the children and the word was preached with such simplicity and honesty, I felt like I belonged here and so this is me typing one and a half years later and still with the American church😃

Religion is about , living a Godly life every second of your life, the fear of God and .love your neighbour .We do the opposite in Nigeria, very ungodly life and no fear of punishment and God . Thank you MazeP for this informative video snd hope our people are watching 🙏🙏

When I got my first house in UK, I didn’t have money to furnish it, I told my nija church pastor, church I’ve been attending for over 3 years then, he kept saying tell welfare bla bla bla, a friend introduced me to an Anglican church, they referred me to an organisation who came to my house, looked round, we worked through a list of things I need, and within a week this big truck came with, beds, sofas, chairs just name it, mostly were new and good quality house hold items, I even have to give some away, Nigerian churches both home and abroad are after your money they are business centres, I’m talking from experience. Since then I stick with my Catholic.

    Interesting observations & inferences.
The Canadian Church just showed why Churches are classified as Charity Organizations.
I totally subscribe to the feeding culture of the Oyinbo Church because there should be some psychology in theology afterall even our Lord JESUS Christ fed people with loaves of 🍞 and 🐟.
There is nothing bad in the follow up by the Nigerian Church if it was genuine, man cannot live by bread alone, there could be other areas where you can really feel the impact of our African communal lifestyles which i prefer to the alienating ways of living of the Oyinbos.
If the feeding culture is done by any church here in Nigeria, i can assure you that it will be abused by privileged members & people will desert other churches for the one that offers food, bcos there is pervasive, palpable poverty in Nigeria;, if the Nigerian Churches can't feed people, they should incukcate moral values love in their members.
Above all, i will advise you to chose the church that strikes a spiritual Chord with you, i see Church as a place for spiritual growth
African ways of praising & worshipping GOD is second to none

What are they following up for? You can check on someone who you’ve not seen for weeks or months but following up immediately after service is wrong, they just want to know were they live and size them up, for me pls don’t come to my house to do follow up.

Members will abuse feeding hungry people but using church money to buy private jets and building schools members can’t afford is not abuse, tell me more

    • @user-mb1mk1ku5d
      @user-mb1mk1ku5d 5 месяцев назад

@@Kutie500 you missed the issue of members abusing issue of food, my emphasis is on *privileged members" which you referred to as those buying jets in your own opinion
Privileged members in this context are not the targeted congregation but the elite members.
I don't subscribe to your other opinion of following up in order to size them up.
I don't think that primitive culture is prevalent in a developed society like Canada, Most Nigerians in Canada are too busy for such idle gossip and no productive person is a leech .

I am 100% Oyinbo Church fan😅

My family and I attend a Catholic church here in the US. We have every country you can think about in our church; Phillipines, Elsavador. Colobia, Ireland, Indians, Africans, Americans, Eastern Europeans, you name it. Almost every country is represented, and our priest is a humble, kind Indian. Every visiting priest has commended the spirit of family and prayer life that exists at our church. We have a Saint Vincent dePaul ministry that caters to the needs of families. We love our parish and parishioners.

Wonderful experience. I am fully satisfied with the inter denominational Church that we settled for in Canada, They displayed the flags of all nations, the message is down to earth, they call for fresh Believers and they are offered gifts of hand bills and books on how to grow in the Lord in a bag, You pay your one offering either online or physically, and this offering is basically for evangelical purposes, the head pastor ,an elderly man is mostly in the fields in Africa, sharing and spreading the good news, helping the less privilege. After the service you can sit down to have tea, coffee and all types of snacks, They follow you up and there is so much love spread around .Yesterday was healing day, some people received instant healing . Serving the Lord is not all about physical food, but hearing, receiving and sharing the words of God. Jesus is Lord.
