I’m late but the vcm was in stock at summit and I knew a guy in the Dallas Fort Worth area that was selling it brand new in box. He bought it for no reason
That's a beautiful G8! Man that black looks really nice! I don't know if I would change the color. I do recommend you do away with the DoD fuel management. When you remove it, perhaps a new cam, bigger injectors and a Magnuson 2300 Supercharger. A little dyno time and you will have 650 to 700 horsepower. Enjoy that G8!
650+ hp OK. So tell me do you as a American know what HP the stock transmission can handle? As a Aussie I can assure you that 650 hp is too much. When are people going to learn that a transmission upgrade to Billet parts and heavy duty clutches etc does more for acceleration than a lot of engine upgrades. First thing on any car should be your transmission.
@@dcr1545 Hi Damien, in my Pontiac G8 GT I run the 6L80 model 6 speed automatic transmission. It is a three mode transmission, I can run it in (D) Drive, (S) Sport or (M) Manual. I use this car as a daily driver. I had the car modified in November 2019. It is tuned to run on either 93 Octane or E85 with methanol. The E85 generally yields around 102 to 104 Octane as the ethanol content generally varies here in the states between 60% and 85% depending on the time of year and outside temperatures. In addition to the mods to the engine I had major mods to the suspension and drive shaft. The car sits about 1 inch lower than stock. The car was dyno tuned in 2019 and I recently had it ran on the dyno again to make sure it was still putting down 650 horsepower. While I do not track the car, I've had it up to 154 mph on the local interstate. With the stock 2.92 rear the car should easily hit between 185 and 190 mph. Initially I ran it a few times at a local drag strip. My biggest limitation is the Michelin Pilot street tires, as they don't lock up like good drag tires. My best 1/4 mile was 11.62 and 0 to 60 at 3.92. Good tires would shave off a few 1/10 th's off those times. In the past two years, I have not had a single problem with the car. The transmission in Drive is very smooth although it shifts harder and quicker in sport mode. I bought this car new in 2009 since it was the last branded Pontiac. I wish GM/Holden would keep making this sporty 4 door sedan. It seems here in the states everyone wants SUVs instead of raw performance. Drop me note if you change your transmission. Enjoy your G8!
Just got my vms wheels in stock for my drag pack! Hopefully run low 1.70 60 foots. I ran 1.99 with Cam Stall 3.27’s Headers Headwork And that was without the pack on 20’s. Spinning to the 330’ on a 1/4 mile track. Hopefully get some good numbers!
I might keep the 3.45s on for now and see what will happen all motor w them. Also saving the 3.27s for when I boost it. But if I ever consider selling them, I’ll have you in mind!
Great to see Aussie V8 muscle getting the love in the States.
Yes sir!!
