This reminds me of a HEMTT that got stuck on a regular Polish road after stopping with one side on the shoulder that later resulted with the rescue HEMTT wrecker flipping on small embankment when trying to turn around. Those things are super heavy and bad at weight distribution, they sink into soft ground like a stone.
This may be shown in one or more videos on RUclips channels such as PressTV, which soon as you bring it up, up pops a disclaimer that it's funded by the government of Iran.
I had a 5 ton and it didn’t have lockers , I thought they all did but after I bought it I found out most do not, the Marines mostly had them on theirs and that was about it,had central tire inflation though, it was a beast anyway, 8.3L turbo Cummins with Alison trans, it would do 70mph all day
I could never get my HEMTT wrecker stuck even when we tried for a recovery class, this just shows how inexperienced the driver is.I loved the testosterone loaded beast!
These tires are basically turned to slicks once filled with anything like mud or ground up grass. Goodyears were crap on these trucks and Michelins were better for the traction.
Don't you guys army truck have centre front&rear maybe at lease seperate locker or you have it all but just didn't tell them what situation to use it. In the end if you go somewhere that you know you will need more traction you should let your air down to give you more gripping surface and traction right?
This vid should be titled " army driver fail" . Can't fault the truck here. Wonder what is cost to repair the driveline which he engaged while spinning.....
Doesn't look like this wrecker operator was ever sent to Hotel 8 Recovery School. Before he entered the muddy area he should have locked his differentials. That is dangerous to have a so called M984 Wrecker Operator operating a very large military vehicle like this if he's not adequately trained. Not only is it dangerous, he could easily have killed someone in future operations!
TrEv- daWG their is no button to do that on this vehicle. You want less air you are getting out and dropping psi on each tire yourself. He could have locked the diffs and put it in 8x8 though
HILARIOUS! Embarrassing too. The truck drivers of the Siberia tiaga must get a good laugh out of this! Fine example of engineered obsolescence. Both in the truck and the driver.
Once you see how soft it is...GET OUT OF THERE. Making multiple passes just softens everything even more. Get to a solid spot close enough to winch it.
Toter Rockstar it would if someone was trying to get it stuck. This guy is running 4 tires unlocked on a heavy ass vehicle. I guarantee it could happen
when i was in, i drove a 984 and never got mine stuck. This guy has no clue.

These were such a blast to drive. Never got mine stuck, pulled out mlrs, hummers and 4x4
the biggest reason i can think of him getting stuck may be the tire pressure being incorrect for the conditions
that's why it's a training exercise

Lock in 8x8 and set the transfer case to low
Does the driver know what is traction control and 8WD
This is a driver fail, unless he was trying to get it stuck for training. The diffs aren’t even locked.

Turn the lockers on for all 8 to spin!
Once you cut through the crust and fill the treads it's game over :o)

I hate it when I get stuck in two inchs of wet grass and slime. Got another 8 in of ground and just sitting here spinning for tires.... Winch time..

I know these wreckers are equipped with heavy duty winch, why not stay in solid ground and winch the truck that's stuck to the wrecker.
alvaradotowing23 .... Army guys hate rigging a winch, to the extent that they forget how to do it.
Could he not lock the diffs.
HOW THE F*** CAN YOU GET AN 8X8 STUCK ?????
It's not fun until you're stuck!
How are you gonna get a damned 8x8 stuck in shallow mud...WTF?!
one the biggest issues here is this person can’t drive U don’t drive slow through mud. U look at where u wana go then u floor it through it
Why didn't he reverse near too broken vehicle on firm ground and use his winch cable too recover vehicle.
Must inform that 2 channels, Daily Military Defense and The soldier, posted this same video.

where was his ground guide?
No lockers or CTIS, no bueno...

assumptions about someones qualifications is just as dangerous....
People no Muppets just stand around talking shit and offer no assistance or advice watching the situation get worse
it need the tire pressure low
why didmt he put it in low transfer?
if you had a m88 driver in that rig....that would of never happened
shame on the driver, that is 984a4, a beast, beast don't get stuck!
all he needed to do was hit the button to lower the tire pressure
TrEv- daWG their is no button to do that on this vehicle. You want less air you are getting out and dropping psi on each tire yourself. He could have locked the diffs and put it in 8x8 though
CTIS ? No?

had that happen in Iraq buried the wrecker to the axle in an instant took four Humvee's to get it out!
Well Boys,..It;s 'bout time we get out the winch,...and find us 'fellers a big'ol tree in these them woods.
Wow that was easy
God bless all yours😉😉
Shame, in war time you would have to abandon this (blow it up) because of this. No reason for this.
Great driving been there a few times es
Thing is way to heavy, and someone driving who has probably never been offroading judging by how he's trying to get unstuck.
Tja, mit einem MAN Kat wäre dies nicht passiert, dieser hat alle Sperrdifferenziale ;-)

He should of aired down for snow and sand it would of came out

this would not happen with a russian truck, sorry guys.
