Love the twists to the lyrics “I get it you hate this city” instead of “You made me hate this city” and “just like a kid” instead of “cuz I was a kid”. They really show Kelly’s emotions as a woman that has transcended above the adolescent angst phase.

I meant that her singing style is often times softer and more quiet. That doesn't mean it's ALWAYS like that. ... This is a comment forum. I didn't say anything bad. I expressed an opinion which is what is done here. Yes, I compared two artists but I wasn't putting one down to build the other up. I also meant on this particular song, I've listened to both versions, that Kelly's version while it may start out quieter, it gets louder and louder which is what I'm sure she intended to bring this song to life in 3D color! Billie let's the lyrics speak for themselves and doesn't belt as much as Kelly does. It has a sleepy 1940's feel which I like. She tells him off too, it's just not as loud. If you are, awesome! While I admire your passion for Billie Eilish, you need to learn that it's rude to jump to conclusions and tell someone else what opinion they should have. The term "whisper" is technically inaccurate from a singing perspective. You literally cannot whisper and hold a melody. Try it yourself. I am not trying to be critical. Most commentators on these sites are not experts on the mechanics of breath control. What Billie does vocally is more difficult than most people realize. She uses her almost perfect pitch and breathy intonation to create a very subtle but powerful emotional pallette. I viewed the great Alicia Keyes cover of the Billie song 'Everything I Wanted', and she really struggled. What is true is that Billie's style would not be easy to achieve without microphone amplification. But this is true of many singers, although not perhaps of the great Kelly C.

To be honest, I hadn't heard the original by Billie Eilish yet. Since I liked what I heard so much, I decided I wanted to hear the original. So after hearing them both I let that resonate. Later, I came back to KC then made this comment on here because I was moved again. I was simply commenting on Kelly Clarkson's amazing cover of this song. I truly like both versions, but each one gives you something different. I mainly meant that Billie's style is often softer, Kelly is more in your face. I meant for this song, to me Kelly brought the song to life in 3D color, but that doesn't take away how amazing Billie Eilish is. I don't know how else to explain this. I know I didn't have to but I felt compelled to try to explain what I truly meant. I really thought the song by the title was going to be a happy cheerful song, but was I wrong!

I love Billie, but I did't care much for this song (as much as some her other songs), BUT when I heard Kelly's cover, it became one of my favorites. The other songs on this EP are spectacular as well. Kelly is by far my favorite vocalist of all time. She sings every note without any sense of difficulty. She's incredibly gifted with her abilities, and she's an amazing human to boot! I hope she knows how much she is appreciated and respected.
It's being sang the same way Billie Eilish sang it (she wrote the song) Kelly has a great voice no doubt and I love her music and this version of the song, but make no mistake, Billie Eilish's performance and vocial style was perfect for the song. I'm certain Kelly Clarkson is well aware of how incredable talented she is without the need to bash other singers to make herself feel superior. These are 2 different artist with 2 different incredable vocals and style. We should celebrate them both.
