Thanks Dad. There's only one Bob and that's you ✌🏻
Your vids are structured and edited so well. Keep it up Jesus.
*moist critical*
I think he rocks the Messiah look.
I’ve been watching Bob for 5 years, I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard at a comment 😂
RUclips already has a Jesus. He likes anime, penguins, anime penguins, anime, dildos, anime dildos, and Pokémon cards. Maybe Bob can be Jesus before he went version 2.0, before he ascended to level 4 Super Saiyan, before he evolved into his ultra mega moist uber critical form.
His name's Bob not jesus
Thanks for covering the steam deck! I've been loving mine, but I wish there was more content with it! It's like "I love this thing, and I want everyone else to too"
Man, I'm so glad you've discovered the joys of PC gaming. I want a Steam Deck soooo bad but it's impossible for me right now.
Honestly indie games carry my love for games nowadays
Honestly most of the time same (in terms of single player) but when a big AAA release hits just right, it's incomparable. Like Spider-Man Remastered and Guardians of the Galaxy for me recently. Half-Life Alyx before that.
@@BonJoviBeatlesLedZep I get that, for me it was Elden Ring, but indie games just can't be beat since they're usually cheaper too
@@arvilsdead Honestly same I just got a whole heap load of indie games during one of the latest Steam sales and that's basically all I been getting this year aside from a few older AAA games that been on my list for awhile like Ni No Kuni 1 and 2, the Elder Scrolls series, a Plague Tale Innocence, and Dying Light 1 and honestly the AAA games have gone unplayed so far while I been playing Indivisible and Bloodstained (still need to get Eastward though cause that game looks awesome and very Earthbound like).
Finally Bab is converted to the Steam Deck. I admire the balls to be objective and change mind 👍🏻 nice video
I'm at a point in my life where a game really has to impress me to earn a spot on my backlog.
Same.
Most games suck nowadays.
Remasters impress me more huh
Same, time has become precious having a family.
It sounds like you are liking your Steam Deck more and more.
When I preordered Steam Deck, I thought I'll be mostly playing old AAAs on it. But now that I finally got it, I've been playing a lot more indie titles. They just feel really great to play on hand
This is why I ordered an Aya Neo Air and sold my Deck. I'm not going to play Spider-man handheld. I'm going to play it on a large screen OLED in all its ray traced glory...and if I don't need the horsepower on my deck I'd much rather not have to suffer through its truly crappy screen.
@@Eric-zx2wk This was what I was going to ask about. I have a PS5.... Which to be fair sits dormant a lot. I actually play a lot more indies than anything and wanted a handheld. Thought about switch oled but the hardware is getting old and frame rates take a hit. So thought about the deck but heard the screen is terrible. Bit of a problem at 500 quid. Is it really that bad?
@@markrobinson7975 It covers about 2/3rds of the sRGB spectrum. The impact is that it looks washed out. There's a plugin you can use that increases the saturation of the image to try to hide the missing colors but it doesn't solve the problem, just masks it behind an oversaturated picture.
I'd advise you to take a good, long look at what exactly you want to play. If it's popular indie titles such as Hollow Knight or Cuphead or Cult of the Lamb or Dead Cells then the deck won't help you. It runs those games at the same graphics and frames as a Switch OLED with a far worse screen.
If it's less popular indie titles that aren't available on the Switch I'd take a look at the Aya Neo Air. It has better build quality than the Deck, is Windows based, and sports a gorgeous 5.5 OLED screen at 1080p. This is the option I chose and sold my deck for.
Lastly, if you can wait, this is a budding technology and newer, better handhelds should be on the horizon within the next 6-12 months. Sometime within that period you'll be able to get a handheld with the deck's power with a better screen....albeit probably not as cheaply as Valve priced the base deck.
@@Eric-zx2wk Thanks for that. It does seem like a little bit of a waiting game. I had heard about the screen and that was putting me off considering the price for the upper tier model, albeit impressive internals for a hand held. I like the variety on Steam with regards to indies and having the option to play a few bigger titles is a bonus. Plus I just like the store front and simplicity of the deck, close to using PSN etc. Like you said I'm sure a revised model won't be too far off in the future or maybe a Switch 2 announcement. I've been pretty underwhelmed with PS5 so far and was thinking the deck might be a single platform solution going forward as it suits the way I play and enjoy games more these days. Thanks for the detailed response I'll keep an eye out for what's lurking around the corner.
If you're primarily playing indie games why not just stick with a Switch? It's much lighter weight, can run most indies fine, and the Switch OLED has a much nicer screen than the SD.
Splatoon 3 is definitely worth it, having played the first 2 games.
All the social systems have been overhauled to make for a much better way to just play with any number of friends in any activity and have fun.
It's so damn quick to get strait into a game, unlike the first two.
Absolutely. I'm a casual player but will be playing way more for the improvements. I was pretty surprised by how much has been updated.
Love the set. Great use of b roll. "Pokemon's coming out" and nothing else killed me 😂
Yep same. Barely touch my switch now. Will only touch it again for the new breath of the wild.
Thats sad. Still so much to enjoy

@@senorsnipey1595 There are definitely a good number of exclusives, but outside of those there’s just no reason to use it if you have a Steam Deck
@@CaptainEffort not imo peraonally. I have bought a lot of great indie games and even some 3rd party is good enough for me like Doom Eternal Doom 2016 and Wolfenstein 2. All competent ports and I get to have access to my Nintendo games so it works for me
@@senorsnipey1595 My point is that for those of us with Steam Decks there’s no reason to use those ports. They’re competent, yes, but they’re cheaper and better performance-wise on the Deck.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my Switch. And for those that love portability but don’t own a Steam Deck the Switch ports are clearly the way to go. But for myself and many others it just doesn’t make sense to buy third party titles on it anymore.
Shovel Knight Dig looks pretty cool. The style for that game never gets old. Heard about that game, but now might check it out since it looks pretty good with what gameplay was shown. Good video Bob.
"Local Multiplayer Only" at this point means the online can be done through Steam Remote Play. Which, again, only possible on PC or Steam Deck.
Not on switch ;)
That's why I love Ninty
You can do it on PlayStation also, played The Skywalker Saga coop online using it, even though it's only local.
I just got my steam deck this week and quickly see my switch as being for dedicated Nintendo exclusives only. The steam account system, cloud saves, earlier release dates and the uncertainty on wether or not Nintendo is going to fuck me and not let my game library transfer over to their next console are all pretty good reasons to want to focus on steam deck where I can and use the PS5 and Switch for their respective exclusives.
I still can't do all digital. Steam can still screw you and take games away.
@@abelperez1434 and developers abandoning their games is a big problem too. Valve has zero control over it.
Its a fair point. I will say that Nintendo has worked on their account system a lot recently and I feel that's because the next switch will transfer over. We will have to see
@@abelperez1434 IF anyone can do digital correctly it's Steam. They have been doing it since 2003. They have never discontinued games (looking at you nintendo with SNES/NES on my other platforms...Switch/3DS cough). Could they go out of business? Sure they could but they have also stated multiple times that if that were to happen they would find a way to make your games stay playable. So based on a 19 year track record (My half life 2 purchase from 2003 works just fine 19 years later) I would put more confidence in them than any other digital platform. But the best solution is agreed best of both worlds...I use my switch rarely just for exclusives as well, the rest of my time is PC.
@@abelperez1434 Except.... they haven't. Every delisted game is still available for download if you already bought it. And if anything becomes unable to be downloaded, you can sail the seas, which you can't do on most Switch models (and even on the ones that you can, you have to do a whole process to mod the Switch whereas on the Steam Deck you literally just install the game and play it).
Totally get what you mean by being a little sick of rogue-likes. Shovel Knight is one of my favorite games of all time, specifically the Specter Knight expansion, and the level design is a big part of the reason for me. I'm excited for Dig, but I'm still a bit apprehensive of how the rogue-like elements will play out. I can't wait for Mina though, I'm sure that will be fantastic.
I really liked this video. Getting to see you go around pax and try out stuff is really cool. It’s just what you said, you do it since I can’t! Love seeing videos where you just enjoy yourself and talk about what you really think. Thanks for the content!
Love it! Continue talking more about indie games! :)
OLED model is still the best handheld on the market for indie games because the screen and battery. You want the Deck for everything else.
Portability and accessory support are also better with the switch OLED. I'd rather play PC games maxed out on my PC, and I'd rather play simple indies on my OLED with the pretty screen (and ease of use).
@@kieran.grant_ idk there are so many games on the deck that i never get to get to play on the switch.
For example the transformer games which i have on my deck.
The Steam Deck has a BETTER battery than the Switch. When you play games that aren't graphically intensive like those indie games that can run on Switch you can get more time out of it.
Last year or so I’ve followed your channel and caught up on old videos and all the comic content Will posted, love it. Favourite channel, favourite podcast(s). Thanks man 🙏🏻
I am loving my steam deck as much as you.
Thanks, I would love more videos about the steam deck! I've been absolutely loving mine since I got it and it's so awesome to be able to play games on Steam but I can't get on my switch. I basically haven't been playing my switch at all since I got my steam deck.
Awesome video Bahb. That keyboard is STUNNING
I love my steam deck and been using it almost exclusively lately. It’s such a great console.
Great Video Bahb! Hope your time off was restful!
I haven’t gotten a Steamdeck yet, myself and I too like having everything all in one place, on a Switch or similar. It’s pretty painful that 30XX isn’t out on Switch right now, but there is that spiritual successor to Mega Man X or Zero on the Switch. Shovel Knight Dig looks super rad and that colorful pixel game is right up my alley! Thanks for the heads up! These are the kinds of games I’d love to download for my Switch! Great Stuff, as always!
Steam deck took me away from my switch oled. So many games that I can play on steam without having to wait or hope for a switch release. The humble games and steam deals are awesome! From choosing the button mapping on each game to the framerates and resolution, steam deck gives power to the players!!
They need your slogan for their marketing "Power to the Players" I love it.
@@YoreHistory Yeah but then you might irritate PC gamers who've been used to having all the power since like over 30 years ago. It feels a bit like "...I better have all the power, it's a PC"
@@Thornskade Lol good point. My main gaming rig is still more powerful. IT would need to be something like "Choice" or along those lines.
@@YoreHistory No, I do mean the same thing as you, choice. PC gamers expect to have it with a PC, otherwise it isn't one. It's self-evident, as if you were to sell grass and put "It's green!" as a slogan
@@Thornskade I get you :) Can't disagree!
The editing is so nice 🤟
First off, great video as always. Secondly, regarding your description of your channel as being like a tech channel for games? Pretty much spot on, I think.
Great video Bob! Definitely worth the extra wait!
Still loving my Switch. Just got Splatoon 3 and it is absolutely gorgeous! It definitely has better graphics than 2 and the gameplay tweaks are amazing. The single player is much better than 2 and the octo expansion. The game is incredible so I hope your opinion changed after playing more
I find it hard to believe the approval process is so difficult when there is so much straight up garbage released on the eshop.
I mean, you can just play the exclusives and then play everything else on the deck
@@TheNameIsSR this is true... But bc of the Nintendo and 3rd party exclusives I personally prefer hauling my switch around. It is definitely more portable than the steamdeck and weighs less. Bc I prefer carrying it around I tend to buy a lot of the indies and 3rd party ports on the switch so I have one device full of stuff
@@senorsnipey1595 the switch is definitely a little more convenient to carry around with it being a little lighter and smaller. But I generally use my portable consoles at home (sometimes it's just more comfy than sitting in front of a computer/tv idk), so that becomes a non-issue
@@TheNameIsSR fair point. I tend to take my Switch on the go. To friends houses, on the commute, on trips. I'm a huge fan of Nintendo games so that also tips the scale for me.
@@TheNameIsSR Deck is too big IMHO, especially for business travel which was my main intended use. I liked it at first but now I haven't touched it in weeks. If anything else it made me play my Switch in portable mode more.
I have a killer desktop PC at home for PC games and the Switch is better for playing on the couch and on the road. I love the idea of the Deck but I'm looking forward to another OEM to make a smaller and faster one with an OLED. SteamOS is really cool though, good first attempt by Valve
I have my switch just pilling dust atm... since your mod 3ds video I moded mine and I've been enjoying old games I played and never played before on the system and I'm having a blast, I might get the new shovel knight game and probably pokemon when launches... cool vid.
Good vid man!
Love how you give a little insight on the "behind the scenes". I thought maybe a lot of developers didn't want to publish their games for switch because they didn't like nintendo or the way the switch is also targeting casual gamers as well. *Interesting* that it might be the other way around. 🙃
Playing 30XX on Hitbox is literally everything. Its noticed. Keep up the really good job on these.
I love your aggressive voice while you talk about a game console. You got yourself a new viewer!
I Won’t lie bob, loving your work, AND I’d be interested to see a Monitor based video
Great video! Which steam deck did you get? I want to pre order mine soon. I need to get one to kill my backlog. Definitely do another monitor video!
Imma watch and comment accordingly lmao
I absolutely love your cold opens into the intro and amazing ad read. But I have to say "waiting on a line" is one of my biggest pet peeves. You wait *IN* a line, not "on" a line.
I'm okay with Splatoon 3 being it's own game, I think having the single player mode and the new maps and weapons it is justifiable in being a sequel.
I believe the reason devs haven't brought more games to the switch, and the main drawback of the switch in general, is the underwhelming specs of the switch itself. Some less intense games I completely agree with you that it is "behind red tape" so to say, but the switch got Crysis so idek.
As someone who loves all sorts of tech, 240Hz is something I like, but I can deal with much lower refresh rates.
I'm not a fight pad kinda guy, but I can respect a nice clicky button, and once I made the change to mechanical. Every other keyboard doesn't feel right.
Goat Sim 3 is an enigma, but I'm starting to wonder where the switch content is in this switch video. Oh there it is lmao. Oh, playing with people irl, sadness.
Oh steam deck...
Oooh new shovel knight? I played it on 3DS back in the day, such a polished 16bit styled game.
Should've named it something about PAX, but it's whatevs. You do you boo boo.
Great video. Would definitely be interested in more tech peripheral coverage too.
Love your monitor videos! More of that is always welcome
Love Bob's content but I've never found his coverage of monitors satisfying because it lacks technical analysis. Hardware Unboxed, Linus Tech Tips, and Techtesters are who you should go to whenever you're thinking of a monitor to buy
@@BonJoviBeatlesLedZep Haha funny, cause I was thinking the complete opposite. I do like those channels and watch them pretty regularly but sometimes it's just nice to have a more casual video about the way he uses his equipment. When I need the response time graphs I know I can get that elsewhere.
@@harrydsgn Got it! Just informing you about the technical aspects in case you didn't know
That is a killer outfit you got this vid. Love it!
Ooh, Gunbrella and Mina look good, have added to the Steam wishlist, what a great video! That keyboard looks ace too, although probably a bit out of my price range I bet! Maybe one day! Cheers 🥂
I look everyday, just to see if you dropped a video. You’re just super enjoyable to watch, not to mentioned the great content you delivered. I never post anything but I felt you deserve to know how Fking cool you are, keep it up mate!!
I was able to get a media pass for for pax east even with my smaller channel, shout out pax for being cool af.
Love the surf shark dog!
Yes I would like another video on gaming monitors on your gaming tech channel
Yeah, I'd definitely watch another video about monitors from you.
Yeah, do the monitor videos - I’d watch them 👍🏻
The entire Persona Trilogy is coming to Switch as well, thats something to look forward to :)
We live _vicariously_ through you. A cellular Steam Deck is _what I need!_ The Vita has a cellular model! Let’s go!!!!
Great Stuff, as always!
I’m also looking forward to WrestleQuest, Akurra, and SeaFrog. All great games I got to play there. Gunbrella was awesome, and Astro Duel 2 was so fun then a major let down once I realized it was local multiplayer only. Top 10 anime betrayals!
Thanks! Switch steam crossover is useful. There lots of indies out there for both! I hope you can carve out a niche for both.
Great video love the way you are relatable and just say what's up.
I love how there’s now a wulff den ad cinematic universe
Local multiplay only is better because you can just use the steam play together update to well play together.
If I was in the market for a VPN, that doggo bit is the best ad I've seen for it and would've definitely won me over
Cursed to Golf is awesome love that game. Not terribly hard but a good challenge.
Love me some indie games, just never really know which ones are actually good. Thanks for the vid.
I love you Bahb. Welcome back
I'm extra excited for Shovel Knight Dig. I hope the IOS is good. I didn't know that so I'm excited to put it on my iPad air. I have it with me constantly so it's ideal for me
Supporting some good content here.
Feeling pretty good living in Seattle. We get a lot of stuff here
Please do a gaming monitor video! I've never gotten into the real legit monitors and I'd love to learn more 😍
This was a fun one
Oh god, yes please do another gaming monitor video!!
am also playing my steam deck more, though I just got mine so it still has new toy glow.
Id love to see more monitor videos
Was that the tower of Barad-dur I saw riding on the goat's back? That's enough of a reason to buy it, lol.
(11:09) GMMK Pro?!?! Cool!!
I'm reminded of my FEKER IK75, which I went with as I wanted a wireless GMMK Pro I could use with my paper tablet on my dedicated writing desk for reduced distraction writing. Whenever I go for my annual holiday to visit some family members, my bedroom at their house has a much smaller desk due to the layout and size of the room, so the modified Cooler Master keyboard I use with my workstation left me not a lot of desk space, so I'm looking to bring this along with a wireless mouse and wireless macro pad! The desk at that house is roughly ⅓rd of the desk I have here where I live.
For the curious keyboard enthusiasts, I went with the smoke shell, default metal plate, Kailh Box Navy, Drop MT3 white on black, and mine currently has the stock FEKER stabilisers but I plan to replace those.
Edit: The IK75 v3 will fit in the official GMMK Pro carrying case, and GMMK Pro knobs do fit as long as I keep the backlight off or cover up the leftover space that would've been taken up by the larger FEKER knob.
"Are you living vicariously through me?"
I've never been so blatantly called out in my entire life
I’d like to see some more coverage on monitors
Cursed to Golf looks amazing but I'm not touching it with a ten-foot pole. I enjoy playing Mario Golf Super Rush, but dude, nothing makes me rage more than a Golf game lol XD
We need some custom keyboard build videos
Astro duel 2 and 30XX look great... Indie games are best nowadays
Please do a video on the Xscreen upspec gaming attachment for the Xbox Series S 🤠
Mina the Hollower is my number one most anticipated game.
I'd have to say I'm living vicariously thru u lol
I'm considering a Steam Deck as well. Really tired of Switch being left out.
Bob+Coffee = Love
It is a little bit of a downer, that vids like this dont get more attention.
You did a great Job.
Video is well made and very informative. And i like the grounded ton of it very much. Thumbs up.
Hey will you try and check out the gpd winmax 2?
Instant click every video, love your channel man
The next deck or one of these aya neo devices will one day have the best of both worlds.
I am so excited for shovel knight dig. I live rougelikes
Liked the video Bob. Also left a comment.
Do it! Do monitor reviews!!!!
Love the crossover with the Steam Deck. I also have both. With the dock out now. I will only play Nintendo Exclusives on the Switch.
Nintendo really should have made a pro version...
We like liking to help you out Bob!!!
You should have checked out Ghost Song. It was at the Humble booth
I’d love a monitor vid. I’ve been looking around but can’t seem to find the right one for me.
another gaming monitor videos would be really cool
I mostly play indie games and first party Nintendo games so the switch is like the perfect console for me. Though I do have a jealous eye for the steam library and the potential of better performance on my indie games if I had a computer that could play those games. I'm only interested in laptops but not really any high end stuff because I don't think that is necessary. But I would love some advice on buying a laptop that can fulfill those witches without breaking the bank
Loved the other episode on the gaming monitors. Are you not excited for the new Pokémon?
13:00
even if it only supports local co-op. steam remote play lets you play local co-op games with people remotely. just a bit of a bandwidth hog tho. like 10mbps per person of upload needed.
i like that the new dog got the sponsor money this time.
oh yeah video games too eshop tax weeee
I'd imagine if I had the money for a steamdeck it would take me away from my switch.
I don't know if you're not aware yet , but you can play local multiplayer games like Astro Duel 2 online through the Steam remote play together feature, I checked on the store page and it says it supports it, all you have to do is invite someone from your friends list in-game
Bobby boy has the best ad spots on RUclips
My OLED Switch is just Nintendo Exclusive Console now. Zelda/Mario is the only games worth buying. I've picked up games on Switch that I instantly regret and play on Steam Deck instead. The Switch is just too outdated in hardware now.
