These are the 2 coolest death animations that I have ever seen in a video game. Thanks for making this, I never would have seen them otherwise. Game devs really put a lot of creative work into them, they look great and so chilling!
I had no idea that this game was so kid friendly... I thought gore was present in resident evil games? But here they just cut it off so you can't see anything.
Isn’t there some weird ratings thing about if human characters die with gore? The monster got sliced into pieces here, so I’m thinking it’s a similar thing with Star Wars where only if it’s nonhuman can it be mutilated.
More like they didn’t want to bother making a chunked Ada for a single cutscene. Animating gore isn’t as easy as it used to be. Also technically the original game’s laser room just kills Leon without any gore at all.
Pretty sure its more as a reference to the first RE film, where the exact same thing happens to the leader of the soldiers, he gets hit by the lasers, wait a couple seconds, and he slowly starts to fall apart.
The amount of effort that would have to go into this death if they had to show more would be insane, the creature death already looks very basic and without much pieces to show either. That's not counting in the censorship that Japan is so hard on for, it's a miracle that they've been able to add already so many decapitations on the characters thus far. It's funny to see that many haven't seen how Ada gets it just as bad as Leon.
They've censored deaths for the Japanese version before. Nor do I personally care about the effort a AAA game developer has to go through for a couple death animations. This is just lazy.
@@ericwilliams8420 Please do show everyone how easy it would be to take the mesh, cut it accurately in small cubes with convincing detail for a 5 second death scene to never use the sequence again after.
@@ShaoZapomnit You cover the screen largely in blood as she falls apart and don't necessarily care as much as Netherrealm about the accuracy of the gore to the point you force your devs to watch snuff. They don't even bother having any of her hair fall off, c'mon dude. People aren't asking for RDR2-style decomposition, they're asking to see a character model get chopped up, something videogames can generally pull off pretty fine for a good long while now.
@@Rad-Dude63andathird Again, to split, cut and animate for specific cutscenes is not something you "just" do like you mention it to be. If it was "that" easy, ganados would have many ways to fall apart from the very start. Just splitting that hair off the model is already you having to open whatever you're using to manage 3d meshes and add the point of action at that part for the specific scene. There are 2 ways the devs intended for the mesh of playable characters to be sliced and only 1 of them is used in those cutscenes. I am disappointed there's no more in that scene as well but it's also something I can sympathize with because depending on how many people you have working on it, it would be a lot of time that they probably can't afford. It's clear they didn't have the means to do it and to be fair it's also funny how those cutscenes have quicktime events which you can count on one hand for the entire game, they probably didn't think far enough to meet the idea of having more put into it. What MGR did is just something else that took a lot of effort to achieve which the devs didn't do.
@@ShaoZapomnitThey're a AAA company, a very large one at that. They have more than enough people to not half-ass it. Even when they split their main team workforce massively to other projects they have B and even C teams they can borrow a few people from for something like this. Also, separating or cutting meshes isn't as hard as people try to make it out to be. More complicated with these high quality characters, of course. Incredibly difficult? No. Especially not when it is just for one or two scenes instead of all possible angles like in MGR. It's even easier for them in this occassion since they dont have to do the cuts fully accurately to the lasers, since you dont see where the lasers pass from her front, just where they exit from her back, which is in an entirely different camera angle than the one you're going to see. Meaning they can cut up the model in the most optimized and cinematic way without breaking immersion & "waah cuts didn't line up with lasers", since you dont see them cutting her body and face from the front anyway. Not to mention they dont even need to cut her body in a crazy amount of places either, just seven cuts if I counted correctly. Most likely less considering they would likely not show the full body for a scene like that anyway. They have it laid out relatively easy honestly, considering how the laser could've looked.

Just curious how is it the monster gets dismembermed easily while Ada is slowly even if it is slow motion the lasers after they cut her was still going normal speed seems a little inconsistent
The player rigs aren't meant to be diced. They went for what they could. I thought it might have been movement based but the monster stops just before getting diced. You'll see it in that, though. New model rigged for just that. Either it was an effort thing (one death, new rig, not worth the resources) or they went for something a little more tasteful and less goofy? I imagine it's not easy to show that without it looking strange. Fits the monster because we don't care as much.
Just showing part of her head bones and meat while part of her head is about to fall on the floor should be enough....or showing her face when her head falls ... But no. Japan se are tied up to censorship so it's hard for them to do it.
those lasers are referraced from the RE movie that had Millia Jonavich become the lead role of Alice (who was a non canon RE character and would later do another lead role in Monster Hunter after she'd get her cameo spoofed title event in MHW's expansion of IB back in 2019 to hype up her being announced in that said movie & before it's release) where they single handedly *took out an entire squad of vets w/o spilling a single drop of blood from em* in the process.
Im still angry they took this away from Leon. Another blatant example of how they nerfed Leon in the remake for absolutely no reason. Not only does Ada have the same death scenes as other characters (your Wesker example included), but she has new brutal ones. Are you trying to find a problem that doesn't exist?
It’s crazy how desensitized people are to death scenes now that they need a mortal kombat finisher for it to even be remotely acceptable.
Hell yeah dude that's why where here
It looks Very lazy.
These are the 2 coolest death animations that I have ever seen in a video game. Thanks for making this, I never would have seen them otherwise. Game devs really put a lot of creative work into them, they look great and so chilling!
Honestly the fact that it doesn't show the full dismemberment makes it even better.
The timer is crazy generous tho. Can sit there for like 30 seconds before you fail.
I had no idea that this game was so kid friendly... I thought gore was present in resident evil games? But here they just cut it off so you can't see anything.
Sure
Compare it to Leon deaths in the Remake, and you can see a difference. They are more than happy to show gorey deaths with him.
@@nhagan001 just brought back memories of that funny seal noise leon makes when he dies
OoooooooOOOOUUUUHHHhhh
Isn’t there some weird ratings thing about if human characters die with gore? The monster got sliced into pieces here, so I’m thinking it’s a similar thing with Star Wars where only if it’s nonhuman can it be mutilated.
More like they didn’t want to bother making a chunked Ada for a single cutscene. Animating gore isn’t as easy as it used to be.
Also technically the original game’s laser room just kills Leon without any gore at all.
Ada's Hair: I'm a Survivor!!
It would be awesome if they actually showed the lazers doing what it did to the zombie at the end. Otherwise, too me, it just looks kinda censored
They'd have to make censored and uncensored animations after RE4, too much work.
@@ShaoZapomnit
You cover the screen largely in blood as she falls apart and don't necessarily care as much as Netherrealm about the accuracy of the gore to the point you force your devs to watch snuff.
Metal Gear Rising let you chop every enemy into fucking teensy tiny pieces like a decade ago dude, this isn't the impossible task you think it is lol.

@PBJA89its the 13 in 1 shampoo effect.
Gore has really stepped down since the original trilogy. I remember on the N64 version of RE2 you can even make it MORE bloody and gorey.
Damn bro did you not play the rest of the game? Also, both versions of re4 are have more gore than both versions of re2 so that is a poor example.

I was talking about Separate Ways.
she died clean, but the monster went "chili con carne" style
There should have been waaay more squares/ cuts than that. I still love the silent call back to one of those Resident Evil movies though.
"The Cube"
Anyone? :D
Agree. First time when I see blue lazer death animation, I think it is reference to The Cube...
Definitely!
Came here to say this lol this is def a reference to Cube
it's like no one watched the first RE movie or something, this is literally scene for scene
Ada's last thought as she gets eviscerated by the lasers, shit.
Or if she had a little of Deadpool's personality, You pressed the wrong button!
@@jorgebellidolavado6382 makes sense
I like how her hair stays even after being filleted 💀
Ah yes, monster is the chonky piece of meat after this, and Ada just elegentaly bleed + head fall
those lasers are referraced from the RE movie that had Millia Jonavich become the lead role of Alice (who was a non canon RE character and would later do another lead role in Monster Hunter after she'd get her cameo spoofed title event in MHW's expansion of IB back in 2019 to hype up her being announced in that said movie & before it's release) where they single handedly *took out an entire squad of vets w/o spilling a single drop of blood from em* in the process.
keep in mind they were used *twice* in 2 seperate follow ups.
Milla Jovovich* ("It's JOVOVICH!" if you've listened to the film commentary you'll get it.)
Lasers, the only thing that can cut through Lily Gao’s wooden acting. 😂
Imagine Kristen Kreuk or Maggie Q as Ada.
Kate Beckinsale was my other choice...
I agree, though I have to admit that her motion capture work was great for a first-timer!
@@maisiethecat8196 I’ll give her 100% credit for that!
When you are tested by your Pull Out Game while you’ve been mounting Ada.
Love how close this is to the movie sense
@@cementao really is crazy so many people forget how much of a impact the first movie had on OG RE4
Im still angry they took this away from Leon. Another blatant example of how they nerfed Leon in the remake for absolutely no reason. The man was infinitely far more capable and badass in the original true version of RE4 and the laser level was a big part in showing just how much Leon progressed in his skills, ending with him sitting on the throne.
It's honestly more cool when it doesn't show how she gets dismembered and it just cuts out IMO.

This Laser Room now give a Nostalgic Vibes of RE1 Old Movies
Once you notice it you cant unsee it but in the first one her hair doesnt fall after the lazer passes through
Wish they didn't hold back with the brutal visuals like og RE4 didn't.
In the original Leon just gets pushed away by the lasers. The only thing gore about the original was the decapitation.
the remake didnt hold back either, there are much more brutal death scenes in re4 remake than the original. nkt to mention that in the original re4 the lasers just knock you away with the default "death by explosion/rolling boulder" sound
Those lasers never made any sense, but we still like how they slice people
The sudden cuts are nice. And we can def make a meme out of the first death with Ada's face before we see signs of damage xD
I’m glad her bodies didn’t slide out in the first one.

Wow. Resident Evil went from showing completely chunked humans and children being eaten by dogs to cut aways whenever the gore is about to happen.

Say what you will about that first Live Action Resident Evil movie but what you can't deny is that the hallways scene sent ripples through the series.

With the first death I noticed Ada still had a chance at surviving if she went completely flat on the ground considering there was a gap in the middle at ground level, which obviously wouldnt happen if the lasers had a checkered pattern like it does when slicing the beast, I wonder why that happened, an overlook perhaps?

Believe it or not, when you grow up, you'll be able to judge something and still like it, amazing right.
it's lame that capcom has shied away from showing graphic main character deaths since RE5. like in the original RE4 is shows in gory detail leon getting a chainsaw run through his body before having his head lopped off, now it cuts away. that's one thing other horror games like dead space and callisto protocol and even action games like gears of war did better.
