They have the same book of excuses that they use here in the UK. Large, apparently complicated bridge on a dead end road project (apparently the other end will be complete in the 2030's) for vehicles costing millions - can be done and worth the money. Small footbridge over a busy section of road where they are adding extra lanes to the roundabouts - too complicated and too expensive. Absolutely ridiculous. They have even written articles about how complex the vehicle bridge has been to complete, patting themselves on the back.
They have already started the formwork for the gutters. Once you pass the lights (downhill) it's going to be the shortest merge from 2 lanes to one lane. They will have just moved the accidents from the intersection to 100m down the road.
Principle cycling network, really? That's some serious lip service. Yep, time to vote these suckers out and get some actual forward thinkers involved in the planning of our city.
Add Gladstone Road's "Bike Lanes" to your next video. Look at it past Dornoch Terrace. Both ways has on-street parking. There is no real bike lane there, but they have signage saying "Bike Lane."
I can't wait for this to be finished and BCC lies will be laid bare. I'd be happy to help call them out, but they will double down with more made up facts.
They don't learn from their mistakes. Lytton Road is a classic example, but there are plenty of others across Brisbane. Multi-millions of taxpayer funds thrown into road-widening projects, when blind Freddie knows they only server to increase congestion.

Yep, most pointless extra lane ever built to be honest.
I think you nailed it on the head with your letter interpretation
Hope you feel better soon. Keep up the good work 👏

Silly Chris. You broke Betteridge's law.
Being positive is tricky, when it comes to the Brisbane City Council, mate...

Vote them out!
2024 elections coming up, another greenslide? We'll hopefully start seeing Brisbane become a bit better with urban planning.
We certainly need a change in the make-up of the council, and really, after 20 years of an LNP Lord Mayor, a change at the top.
BCC= PAM, Poor Asset Management.
