One of the most comprehensive videos I've seen on RUclips for industrial engineering. My school didn't offer industrial engineering, so I went with mechanical, but I always wondered if they were the same thing. Your explanation was clear-cut and to the point👍
I needs your help concerning program selection between mechanical and industrial. I have got interests in both programs, however, only one program should be taken between them
You are so close to 1k subs and definitely deserve more. Your content is lit and high school/1st year university students considering engineering need to watch this 🔥
Famous people who have MBAs: Melinda Gates, George W Bush, Ivanka Trump, Mick Jagger Famous people who don't have MBAs: Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Steve Jobs, Larry Ellison I think that tells me all I need to know about MBAs.
Here in Spain Mechanical engineering is a branch of the very broad industrial engineering. Our equivalent to the industrial engineering you talk about is organization industrial eng.
hi.. I'm from Turkey. Can I get information about the status of industrial engineering in Spain? I know that the name of industrial engineering varies from country to country, but they do the same job in general terms. There is a department called industrial engineering in Turkey, graduates from there graduate as industrial engineers. Industrial engineering is one of the most popular engineering fields in Turkey, I wonder if this is the same in Spain?
If I understood your message correctly, industrial engineering in Spain is divided into branches. People choose one of those small branches and graduate from that department. In Turkey, there are no such small branches, you generally graduate from industrial engineering. If you want to specialize in a specific field, you can do a master's degree. I am very curious about how the industrial engineering system in Spain works because I have a dream to work there, I would be very happy if you could inform me.
@@ludovico-291hzu Yes! No problem. Here in Spain there was really one type of engineering that was a mixture of mechanical, electrical, chemical...: industrial engineering; in which you studied machines, materials, electricity, thermodynamics, manufacturing technology... However, with Bolonia plan, bachelors where now 4 years (instead of 6), so people after finishing the BSc did a master in a certain branch to specialize. Indeed, you can specialize really the last year of the BSc, since you can pick all electives of mechanical, electrical, automation... As people wanted a system more similar to the USA and jobs started being more specialized, new BSc of mechanical, electrical, electronics and automation engineering appeared. But in reality doing these Bachelors is basically the same as doing the industrial engineering one but specializing in the 4th year.
@@ludovico-291hzu Yes, industrial engineering in Spain is prestigious of being great. However, salaries are not that great as in other countries (not only industrial but all branches of engineering). Thats why a lot of people from Spain emigrates to get engineering positions in other countries. What I have yo admit is that industrial engineering Bsc IS one of the most challenging Bachelors, getting a big scope of everything, and having the oportunity to then specialize.
Iam in Faculty of engineering alex university in egypt and iam in production department which in we study indstrial engineering and mechanical subjects such as matrial, fluid, thermo, machining process ,forming ,metrology ,control and many beutiful subjects i saw indstrial engineering is a huge department in egypt and dont forget that many great people study industrial like CEO of Apple Tim Cook
I'm not an industrial engineering (IE) major, but I respect the work of IEs. We need IEs for quality control, production planning, ergonomics, workplace safety, and all sorts of other stuff. I hope most of the world's future IEs genuinely care about quality and safety, and not just making money or producing stuff quickly.
After watching this video I feel like my major is a combination of both IE and ME because it's either I've done or am yet to do All! the courses mentioned here
In india there is no much preference for production engineering all are going to mechanical so many companies also doesn't recruit production engineers
ME is the way to go if you want to become a traditional aerospace engineer who designs and analyzes aircraft/spacecraft! If you simply want to work in the aerospace industry, either ME or IE would work : )

Yea that does seem to be the case at least in North America and they are quite distinct. Thanks for watching!

Wonderful video, this really helps a lot as I try to decide which path to choose. Thank you so much!!
im an ongoing industrial engineer with a focus on mechanical engineering , great vid
I'm considering getting a degree in both. I'm currently in my second year in IE and after finishing, I'm getting into ME.
did you finish the IE program. how was it soo far if you compared it to ME
An Industrial Engineering Degree + an MBA is a killer combo and you're almost guaranteed to become rich
Are you talking about double major or 2 year mba after bs in industrial engineering
Are you talking from experience? Can you tell me more about this?
😂😂😂😂 so a business engineering degree and a masters in business sure

I have bachelor in mechanical engineering and masters at industrial engineering. Now Im car mechanic.
Can you maybe elaborate on that? Did lack of job opportunities force you into that direction or was it was it a personal choice?
Oh....
There's a true alpha male if I ever saw one.

Interesting to hear how different parts of the world classify engineering disciplines. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for making this video
So in terms of versatility would you say a mechanical engineering degree can get you a job in the industrial engineering field?
Yes I know many people who work as industrial / manufacturing / process engineers with a ME degree🙂
Thanks for the feedback 💪🏾
Love your vids! Keep it up!
Thank you for sharing your interesting video. Kind regards and Happy Sunday, Peter and Alex from Petes Wildlife
I have Bachelor in MECHANICAL. Should I pursue MS in Industrial ? ll i be able to cope up with syllabus ? or ll it be hard ?
