It reminds me how bad I am about telling the truth sometimes. Like I know I didn't steal a cookie from the cookie jar but when my mom asks me if I did I turn 10 years old and blurt out 'it wasn't me' right away! I'm so bad at just being calm about it!

I know in America if you are rear ended and that pushes you into the car in front (like in Rhett's story) you'll be held responsible for hitting the car in front. just a tip!!

I gotta say that it's really sad to me how intimidating the police seems to be in some other countries! I live in Finland and here you can always trust the police to do their job right, be polite etc. They are here to protect and serve, not to evoke fear or give people hard time. It seems that in the states they are there to prove their authority over people and that's both scary and sad :(

My sister got hit by a Chevy Tahoe while we were on a crosswalk Sunday in Gatlinburg, TN. She is okay! She has a broken foot, and some bruising, but the Tahoe would have rolled over her if my dad hadn't punched the hood of the vehicle to wake the driver from his stupor. Everyone will live!

I believe when officers do that it is called a "Traffic Break" which they usually do during accidents or when there is a dangerous incident ahead. Highway Patrol actually train pretty in depth to properly slow traffic on a highway.
These are my favorite types of GMMores, the ones where they just tell a story or talk about nothing in particular. 10/10 👍

We were in an accident last year, and what you learn is no matter how small an accident you never say your ok because months later you can have health issues. It wasn't our fault and no air bags came out, but our van has a wheelchair ramp for my son and we were hit so hard the ramp bent and since they no longer make that kind they had to total our van. A year later I still am dealing with vertigo and some other serious issues.
Our case still isn't closed. So please never say your ok because if a year later your let's say blind it will come out of your pocket instead of theirs.

check the doors for any bending on the body line. I got rearended the same way, ended up having my bumper repainted, clips replaced, and they realigned the hatch since it pushed it up a small bit and caused the paint to rub/wear off.

So sorry to hear that! Locals that live in big bear often forget or don't realize the hassle of coming up there on a weekend. That's happened to me. It wasn't really a crash though, I was backing up out of the garage and hit my grandma's car behind me, and the only damage was a little tiny hole in my car from her licence plate bolt.

My car got rear ended at a stop sign waiting to turn right (on the way to my grandmothers burial). The BMW that hit me took at least 4-5 times the damage that my Subaru did. Fortunately no one was hurt & we made it to the burial on time.

I forget my nieces and nephews birthdays all the time. I have actually been standing at a counter to buy something, and I had to call my sister to confirm my nieces age. I thought for sure the lady was gonna be like "I'm sorry sir, we can't sell you this. Also, we called CPS because you clearly stole this child."
The Endicott my dad is the same way. There are three kids total, all girls, and we’re all born in November. So picking up meds at the pharmacy or checking in at the doctors office is a nightmare for him. He actually looks at us for confirmation sometimes.

I get the paranoid feeling as well. Especially with my last accident where I actually friggin hit a cop car! He was stopped in the right lane on the highway, I was in the left & got cut off. The person who cut me off stopped short as soon as he got in my lane, & I couldn’t stop in Time I instinctively tried to “thread the needle” so I missed the car who caused the accident, but clipped the drivers side rear of a friggin cop car before going into the ditch!🙄 thankfully the cops were all nice about it, but I was losing my mind the entire time!

I went to California once (I live in Alabama) and the traffic was TERRIBLE. The week I went a bad storm came through and after it passed we went outside and everything look completely different than the day prior to the storm. There were palm trees fallen over and one building even caught on FIRE!
