i would strongly consider getting an "agreed upon value" insurance policy. if that car goes missing or it totaled you're going to be out on your ass for a metric shit ton of money.
@@naratouzumaki when people modify their cars, insurance companies don't take into consideration the money they put into it, if it goes missing or gets in a wreck. This insurance costs more but covers the money, or at least a good portion of the money you put into the car. Hope that makes sense

I almost went through the same. I was going to build my car and customize it but I knew it was going to cost a lot past stage 2. I ended up just buying another platform to start on(GTR) and already 30k in mods
I've been going down this hole as well, but it's worth it. Makes me happy. HOPE mine doesn't blow up, but I'm not pushing crazy boost. Next step is wheels and CF trunk.

Just bought a 2020 WRX. Love the car so far. No regrets. I only plan on doing coilovers, wheels, exhaust, intake, and AP. Anything fast that isn’t really worth it, especially for a daily driver.
I am into high end audio gear so i get it. The audio stuff goes down too but levels off and doesn't tank as much after it drops 25-35% depending on your gear and the discount you get! Unfortunately car parts aren't always discounted much and the relationship with the company is transactional not as long term.
Just paid $13,000 cash for my stage 4 full STi swap 2011 WRX world rally blue 112,000 miles on chassis with 2,200 miles on brand new stage 4 IAG closed deck, forged internals, stage 4 clutch, speed density flex fuel, FP green, fmic, 1300cc injectors, Braum red leather race seats with harnesses and harness bar, black RPF1 17” wheels with new tires, Invidia N1, Sony in dash. Still on the break in tune, but luckily our local Subaru specialist is a family friend of mine and he said we can get some good power out of it once I’m ready. I asked him if I go rotated on E85 what could it make while still being able to daily drive it, he said in the 600’s. He built the whole car for the guy I bought it from, and he said the dude spent over $14,000 on the motor alone, and had around $48,000 in the car because he bought it bone stock and bought all the upgrades for it himself. My IAG closed deck block was $5,500 alone
Damn dude, the AVCS gears were $1800???? You don't even have to replace those when you blow a motor. You buy a $40 socket and disassemble and clean them. The cleaning and reassembly isn't hard at all and takes like 30 mins...

sometimes spending money like this isn't "financially smart" but if it makes you as happy as they TRULY do then it's TOTALLY worth it in my eyes as happiness is a very important thing. (if you can actually afford it and/or know exactly how to manage such a purchase)
I’d say it’s worth it. I ended up trading my mustang in for my wrx, just because it fits my family a lot better (2 car seats in the back of a mustang when you’re tall is horrible). Plan on building my wrx and keeping it for as long as I can, and though it’s an expensive way to go. The smiles that my son gives me now when I get on it is well worth it, and he enjoys having a big window of his own to look out. Overall it’ll only get funner, sadly probably break my bank, but my son’s reactions will be well worth it all.

I agree with the sleeper look, more like oem RA look. Keep it looking stock but increase power, braking ,suspension and everything else under the hood. Also the interior would be nice too
Dam, I bought mine for 37g in 2021, but with interest final will be 41 something. But I did my hw and got their offers emailed go me to negotiate and turn sales people against each other. But I also put 12g down so yeah that's why I was able to get them against each other bcuz sales people are not your friends.
From what I’ve seen from my own cars and other peoples cars, it’s not just how much you’ve invested, but it’s what has that money gone towards. Most people will admit that their built jdm is a lot less reliable and a lot more of a headache than ppl think.
Dude there are things money can't buy like time along with the wonderful moments and experience, as long as if it makes you happy and will not burden you just do it while you are young😊 lots of people makes mistakes in choosing and buying cars, but they learned from that and I think it also made them happy too(not it long terms).
To me your car looks better than any Lamborghini or Ferrari and definitely more unique than any mass produced car(and yes, Lamborghini and ferraris are mass produced). Keep doing what makes you happy with your money.
At the end of the day it’s your car and your happiness. You spent money on something that has lead you up to this point in life. I’m sure you have some $$ tucked away and probably investing in yourself so it’s a win. Do what’s best for you bro, you have time to make money.
