Giga Chad move of Pariah for INTENTIONALLY forgetting that Knuckles is supposed to Guard the Master Emerald on Angel Island. He’s truly staying true to The source, and I mean that genuinely.
Knuckles doesn't even have a reason to not be doing his job in the Riders games. He's just hanging around with Sonic and Tails before the plot kicks in XD
@@felipe_drawmania1604Whaddya talking about? Knuckles always hangs with Sonic & Tails because his existence revolves around Sonic because The “Mega Sega Brand Power” has controlled his Will of choice and fate in life.
We would not have this establishment crisis, If they'd just made Knuckles keep the master emerald shrunk and kept with him for the entirety of the series.
I gotta say, the moment where each of the New Rogues got a chance to work together with their Sonic counterpart gave me a huge smile. It just feels so perfect, especially considering how their relationship started in the First Riders. It also feels perfect using extreme weather as the basis of the story as the Rogues are inspired by Japanese Tengu, which are youkai that can control whirlwinds. I kinda wished you had mentioned that in the actual video.
@@attackboss6 Sonic the Hedgehog (ソニック・ザ・ヘッジホッグ Sonikku za Hejjihoggu?) is the titular main protagonist of the Sonic the Hedgehog series and Sega's mascot. He is an anthropomorphic hedgehog known for his ability to run faster than the speed of sound, hence his name. As his species implies, Sonic can also roll up into a concussive ball, primarily to attack enemies. Born on Christmas Island, Sonic abandoned his home at an early age to pursue a life of adventures. He has spent most of his life traveling around the world and beyond, usually accompanied by his best friend, Tails. In his journeys, he has defended his world and others from various threats, especially his arch-nemesis, Dr. Eggman. During his many adventures, Sonic has traveled from the ends of the world to the far reaches of space and time, earning many titles, allies, and foes. Known for his attitude and somewhat short temper, yet strong sense of justice and love for freedom, Sonic's victories have made him a celebrated hero. However, he remains indifferent to his fame, preferring to live on his own terms.
As a die-hard Riders fan and amateur metaphor writer myself, I need this as a real game yesterday. This was exceptionally entertaining to listen to. If it were up to me, I would've personally called the game Sonic Riders: Gale Force for a multitude of reasons, but I'm willing to bet you already thought of that ahaha. I cannot wait to hear what other ideas you're brewing up, especially as someone who is largely influenced by Japanese Sonic in my own modern projects.
Admittedly as awesome as this story is, for early 2000s Sonic, it verbalizes emotion a lot more than usual. Typically this era relied on body language or implications to do the heavy lifting through subtlety.
this video is more so a verbal storyboard rather than a finished product. he’s actively explaining things to us that would probably go unsaid had it been fully animated.
Really like the detail that both Mute and Talon have a very washed out color pallete, meanwhile Gale has that really contrasting orange. It goes to show that he is the main deal of that team, while the other 2 characters don't matter much compared to him. (I don't mean this as a bad thing, both of their designs really rock, especially Talon imo) Needless to say the story was fantastic. I especially really liked the thing with the comet, like as soon as I realized what that scene with Amy and Jet was setting up, I couldn't help but smile.
you genuinely have a great grasp on what made these characters so appealing to those of us who became fans in the 2000s. I could picture so many of these scenes in my head and all the setups and payoffs were really satisfying. by the end with the comet I couldn’t help but smile lol. you should seriously pursue writing for the series in some way officially
The story is sooo engaging to where the story makes you want to picture them so badly It’s soo good to where it makes it feel easy to picture in your head
Pariah, youre starting to really impress me. Sonic games and their stories have been reviewed and talked about thousands of times at this point, and nobody really brings anything new or unique to the table. Youve obviously done the same but as an opportunity to showcase your skills as a writer, which seems to be your main skill and one of your main passions. Now thats youve reviewd every game and dissected every story, you come out with this, and its all coming together now. Youve now showed your hand, and youre "showing us what youre made of." I am thoroughly impressed and entertained. This shows us what youve really got. You really GET story telling, especially sonic story telling. I have no doubt your books youve previously written are probably as good as this fan work, and you defintiely deserve to make more fan stories...and this will be a gateway to potentially new original stories, maybe even ones that can become... quite large. Youre really skilled, that thing with Amy and the comet, and the payoff of that at the end of the story....i nearly cried. Just listening to your broken summary of your story. I was smiling the whole time in the 2nd half of the video. Everything came together perfectly. You keep this kind of work up and get involved in more projects, i see GREAT things for you ahead, and quite a fruitful career. And for that, you got my support. I await to see what youve truly got in store for us. P.S. 10,000 extra points for a perfectly executed "long time no see" in there.
Pariah, I just want to thank you for making the sonic story videos. I used to dream about writing good stories, but I didn't know how to write them. I didn't know about the core point of making a good story. But thanks to you, I understand now what makes a good story and what doesn't. I have the ability to say what's on my heart and mind through a new medium, thanks to your videos. I'll probably never become a proper writer, but I'll surely make a plenty of little stories for my short animations till I or the animation industry will die. Thank you, Pariah ❤
@@DLGanimator one thing I would recommend is to not to be afraid of bimg cringe. Cause tbh, at ur first couple of tries u prbably will be, but thats how we learn. I remember being so dissatisfied with the Marvels Spider Man 2 story that i learned a bit of writing and wrote mx own spidey story. Its super cringe now, but I had a lot of fun making it. Just make sure you have fun while you're at it.
To anyone who thinks this is somehow connected or related to the recent IDW Sonic arc you should read all the details in the description, just to warn you about this and get it out of the way
You did a fantastic job with this story, it’s so true to everything sonic was at the time, and is also a great story, I got really invested in everything that was going on and got so hyped at the last chapter, I appreciate you giving Amy her own chapter and moments to shine, if this was a real game I’m sure people would be surprised at that. Also I’ve seen some people comment on how Sonic doesn’t really do much in this story, but I have to argue that that is kinda staying true to other stories at the time, where the focus was more on the new characters than him but he was still doing his thing and being Sonic, like how in ZG he was just like ok we’re done here that was fun see ya later, here he’s not really getting involved in Jet and his father’s conflict, he’s here to get things going and in a very him way, he rejects the horn and then destroys it, very in line with what he was at the time, just a way for other characters to have their own stories and grow, it ain’t always about him.
Your method of storytelling is pretty cool, the way Jet says "Wait" but Gale takes off anyway, shows their relationship, and Amy's superstitious nonsense with the comet thing also kinda serves as foreshadowing. I love the scene with Wave and Tails working together, and Amy telling Jet and Gale to be more honest instead of arguing. Though Sonic kinda doesn't really do anything in this story, and he's kinda impulsive, it's in character for him to not want the wind artifact, but it's dangerous, so you'd think he'd wanna get rid of it instead of leaving it to people like Jet and Gale. And when he does smash it, it's kinda cool, but also kinda stupid like that could've been very dangerous, it could've triggered a crazy cyclone or something. Mute is crazy op, he's stronger than Knuckles, and much faster than him too, so he's gotta be almost as fast as Sonic, while being the strongest character in the series. This story's themes are kinda insane with how heavy they are, having a deadbeat father, then having him die, these could use more fleshing out, maybe. Though this simple optimistic outlook on it is pretty fitting for the Sonic franchise, and kinda nice. It also seems like Gale got everybody killed by telling Talon to not turn off the security, so all this happened because of his arrogance, and once he comes back for a day he's still as arrogant as ever. I feel like he could've had a character arc about overcoming that arrogance and accepting his mistakes.
Going forward Jet's development can be that he doesn't care about comparing himself to others like being the fastest or faster than Sonic, and instead just wants to do his best for his own sake
I had such a big smile on my face while listening to this. It's so 2000s Sonic, and I love it! I really wish this could be the story of a new Riders game. Also, I would love to see more of your writing in the future, whether it's Sonic-related or not.
Okay wow I did NOT expect it to feel like a Sonic story this MUCH, but I would say it actually fits perfectly for a Sonic Riders story. Got some of that humor in it but for a change it added some character arcs for Jet and Wave. I don't remember if they had ones in riders and zero gravity but I am pretty sure they did not. But anyways that was amazing. I could totally see this as an official story because it just feels like something that can come out of a Sonic story. Great job Pariah❤
You know, if it's YOU writing OC's into a story you yourself make, then I have full confidence you know what you're doing. There's no way you would be writing Coldsteel The Hedgehog 2.0, with all the same issues. Despite popular opinion, not all fan characters are cheesy and stupid, nor are they all just Mary/Gary Sues. I would like to make special mention to some fan-made villains like Nazo, Seelkadoom, and Aeon. I think those OC's are perfectly fine, or even better, they're well done. Although, Aeon is more so part-Mega Man/part-Sonic fan character. I think that is what makes him so iconic. He is the twisted mirror to the whole crossover-concept of SFF. I do hope we get to see more of Aeon in the future though, if BlackDevilDX ever considers continuing the series. I see a lot of potential for that character!
I just wanna say thank you for all the efforts you put in your videos and writing. Your content, passion and enthusiasm towards this series helps me alot and i can't express my genuine appreciation for it, and even if you're close to be done with this series, im happy it will be a great, most enjoyable end to it
I really like this. It manages to hit all the emotional moments properly and handles the absent parent plot in a mature manner. Plus, it progresses Jet’s rivalry with Sonic to something he can genuinely enjoy. I also really like Mute. He’s the kind of guy that has one gimmick to his character but it’s entertaining.
i noticed that there's some clunkiness to some stuff characters say,but that was probably a byproduct of how you kinda did the bits of dialogue like the actual sonic game dubs of the 2000s,which feels very authentic.
This was awesome. If Sonic games are going to keep getting loaded with cutscenes and voice acting, I'd love if they had, y'know, actual stories to tell.
@@joaquindiaz3621 Sonic Colors is a game loaded with cutscenes and it’s not an actual story. It’s an office job with puppets that stands around, doing nothing But flapping their lips and making their “clever” jokes.
Pretty good story! Just 2 problems: 1. Sonic doesn't really do anything of note. He's just kinda there. I would like him to engage in the rival banter with Jet as well, would make their dynamic more interesting. 2. Tails and Wave don't really interact at all until the final moment, which kinda comes out of nowhere. Tails and Wave are rivals in the Riders games so I would like to see them bicker about. It would also make the moment where Tails helps Wave more interesting. But overall, I'm really impressed with the result here. I like that you gave Amy her own little chapter, since she's not a part of any team in the Riders games and ends up feeling disconnected. Really good stuff.
To be fair for point 1, that isn't exactly inaccurate to some of the stories that were in Sonic games in this era he's trying to emulate (06 for example), Sonic sometimes was just kinda...there while the story focused more on the other characters.
@@legoboy7107 This story is meant to be a sequel to Zero Gravity however, around 2009 or so. By then we already have the storybook games that really utilize Sonic's character very well. I understand what you're saying here but personally the direction they took Sonic's character in 06 is something I really dislike as he comes across as extremely boring in that game. So even if this was an intentional choice by Pariah, I would still prefer if Sonic had more energy to him instead of being a bland protagonist like he's in 06.
1. This point doesn’t really stand because we have sonic shattering the wind gizmo and sonic stories aren’t typically revolved around sonic, this story is more focused on Jet (ergo him being the final character you play) I think it’s a nice change of pace away from sonic to make jets character grow more. 2. This point also doesn’t really stand because this story is written off the assumption that you played zero gravity and riders. It’s supposed to be an ending to their dynamic from the previous games. I will admit that I had some of these criticisms when getting into the story but after it was done I was left feeling fulfilled most of your criticism doesn’t exist simply because of the past riders games.
Honestly, point 1 is not really true, most 2000s games don't focus a lot on Sonic, in SA1 they focus on the other character, Sonic barely affects their stories, in SA2 he does get a bit more attention, but still, the story focusses on Shadow more than anyone else, and this story is not about Sonic, is about Jet and his Father, and Sonic does serve a purpose, he is the reason Jet has this problem. and for point 2 this is supposed to be a follow up to the previous riders games, so unless you haven't watched those or paid much attention then what he did here is fine.
Pariah, you slayed with this fan story! This was so well written that I really can't think of any criticism. The emotional pay off at the end was really good. I usually don't say this but when a story is so good that I can visualize everything play out in my head, it means to me thatt you've done a great job with your storytelling. I really look forward to you finishing up Shadow Apocalypse and any stories you got brainstorming.
I am THOROUGHLY impressed by this! This is everything I could want out of a fan story, especially how you came up with plausible gameplay gimmicks, and went into how the story would actually tie in with the gameplay. I really don't see that when it comes to rewrites of sonic stories, so it's really appreciated here!
This is loads of fun, and makes me nostalgic for the first Riders game. I like how you've (perhaps unintentionally) done the thing that lots of movie trilogies do where the third episode walks back the not-so-successful experiments of the second episode and tries to recapture the magic of the popular first episode by refocusing on the story elements that were present there. My only significant criticism is that the main conflict with Eggman/Gale looking for the Breath of Terra and the Comet plot supporting the twist ending don't seem to connect together very well. As you explained, the opening cutscene ought to lay out the premise of this game and the gimmick - and you've gone for the apocalyptic weather-manipulation technology, not the mystical temporary-resurrection comet which turns out to be all-important. It kinda seems like a contrived coincidence that the Comet arrives just as Eggman's Breath of Terra plan is ready to be executed. This flaw can be fixed by making it clearer that Eggman's scheme only got off the ground because Gale appeared and provided the missing clues, which he discovered during the quest that killed him. That way the Eggman/Breath plotline is directly subordinated into the Comet/Gale plot - Gale came back to life with the mission of reconnecting with Jet, and Eggman was his tool for creating a high-stakes adventure.
Maybe instead of Sonic Extreme Riders, i think there could be an alternate title like Sonic Riders: Unnatural Disaster or Sonic Riders: Havoc something short, effective and weather-focused
What the hell... This actually impressed me. Lately, I've been very stingy about Sonic fans trying so hard to have any kind of official control of the series (either that or I've let Sonic Twitter corrupt me too much). But here, you've basically covered every focal point that I would have to expect from a 2000s Sonic game, make it all into a new tangible story for a hypothetical game, and even add some new tangible twists to it, too. Well done, Pariah! I actually liked this, especially with how you've implemented Jet's father.
I recently watched the nazo unleashed fan work that you reccomended, and also the start of SMBZ, and after hearing about your story, i start to realize the many sides of a sonic story, while the fan series lean towards shonen action, your story leans more into the emotional and deep. Also reminds me about how sonic is seen as that mysterious good force of nature spoken in legends. And now i wonder if a spin-off game sonic story could empathize this "whimsical sonic" side. Maybe in a paper mario counterpart ? Sorry, was going offroad lol, either way i adored the way the story was done, i'm taking it as a lesson on how to set up things to climax a story better ! Also i love how official the old babylon rogues look and feel ! Maybe would've loved for Amy to get a bit more spotlight and the natural disasters gimmick to be a bit more worked on, but that might be more personal taste ! Overral, i think the story's awesome and i'm sure i'm gonna mistake it as a real game when i'll think about it. Congrats man !!
I gotta say that that ending was such a perfect sonic like story ending. The story on its own was very good but the dialogue at times felt like an actual movie and not like a sonic game and I don't know if that is necessarily bad? Also I love that you focused this story of Jet more than any of the riders games but for me personally, my favorite sonic stories are ones that the problem is fixed by sonic's example. Sonic did the environmentalist thing but the plot line with Jets dad was nearly detached from him. This felt more like a spin off game like Shadow The Hedgehog instead of a Sonic game which again isn't bad but with what you were trying to accomplish, probably not the best thing.
I'm not half way through the video, yet I can confidently say this is so much better than IDW's own Sonic Riders story (Phantom Rider). Despite Gale being an OC, I instantly believed his relationship with Jet. The OCs feel like a natural extension of the original cast and world, and not just OCs awkwardly inserted in already existing conflicts. The bit of Eggman explaining about the Earth being alive and the artifact that produces wind is straight up a cutscene from a 2000's Sonic game.
I love the thought that went into your OC's. Jet's father surfer motif, His soap opera with His son and their farewell at the end Is beautiful (also at the end I got an AD for a song called "Pa que te fuiste" by Elena Rose and it's ironically funny how the lyrics fit...) Mute's gag doing what owls do Is morbidly funny, and oddly enough I had my own Babylon Rouge Croe design with purple clothing idea, so I love Talon too jsjsjs.
Potential other name “Sonic Wind Riders” because all the wind related stuff (Gale, the breath of Tera, extreme gear, wind storms, and obviously riding the wind as in going fast)
It definitely was the right thing for you to end this off with Jet getting his character arc's conclusion, rather than simply adhering to tradition with Sonic being the character you play as for the final boss and taking away from that.
I got immense joy from just seeing the title alone and I am not disappointment. Ever since first finding your channel, you have been my favorite when it comes to Sonic content from the deep understanding you have of the franchise, and for the longest time I've been wanting an all-original story from you. Needless to say, I loved it all through and through. This hypothetical game will forever be canon for me now, it's so close to the official stuff I'm half suspecting you just stole secret story concepts from Mr. SEGA himself. It's got it all. The unique gameplay gimmick, the wacky Eggman plan, the occasional gag for comic relief, the introduction of more mystical elements of this world, Amy being the voice of reason, a satisfying conclusion with a deeper narrative theme. The Babylon Rogues are favorite villains in the franchise, and what the new characters do to expand them is just amazing. Speaking of: GAAAAAAHHHHH I LOVE THE LATE ROGUES!!! I'VE KNOWN THEM FOR ONLY AN HOUR OR TWO AND I SO WISH THIS GAME WAS REAL SO WE'D GET 10+ YEARS OF CONTENT FEATURING THEM. I WANT THEM IN SPIN-OFFS, I WANT THEM IN THE MOBILE GAMES, I WANT THEM IN THE COMICS, I WANT FANART OF THEM (which I'll make sure to contribute myself) JUST ANYTHING MORE OF THE LATE ROGUES!!! But seriously, Gale, Talon and Mute are unnironically my favorite Sonic characters period now. The only thing I dislike about them is how they're ultimately a one-and-done deal, which I'm aware saves us from future mishandling of these characters, but I couldn't help but get teary-eyed at the reveal of their fate. I JUST WANT MORE OF THEM!!! There's so much care put into their design you could actually pass them off as official, their personalities are effective and unique, and their designs just look cool as all heck. I was a bit down today, but this video just put a big smile on my face for not only introducing me to my new favorite characters but just being a spectacular story overall, AND a great inspiration for writing projects of my own. I will preach the word of the Late Babylon Rogues for years to come.
I just finished watching this video and holy crap. This was super good. This is much better than either of the Sonic Riders games before it. The OCs fit right in alongside the main cast, and their characterization is superb. One thing that I don't really like is that Eggman is treated like much more of a joke in this story than I'd like for him to be. That's a small thing, though. This was clearly a very inspired idea, and it was executed very well. I liked Jet's relationship with his father and how that was handled, and I like Sonic's mentality reguarding the Breath of Tera and the wind. I'm a sucker for a good father-and-son story, and this is GOOD. I have just two suggestions, and they're pretty small. First of all, during the final boss, maybe you could switch characters every time you hit the boss, like SA2. Jet would still get the final hit, though, because this is basically his story. My second suggestion is that when Jet and Gale start racing eachother at the end, maybe Sonic would see this, go to grab his extreme gear to join them, but then he'd stop. He'd look at them, see how much fun they're having with each other, and simply smile. Maybe Amy could be the one to stop him as well. I just think that'd be a small thing for Sonic's character. To summarize this "Kissing up to Pariah695 Session", I just have one thing to say: "Sega, hire this man."
I smiled at the ending there. I think the story you've laid out is very good and rather entertaining, not to mention I think the way you wrote the characters is really well done. For some reason, I particularly like the idea that Sonic gets the prize at the end and is like "screw that" and smashes the object of importance. If you ever wrote this in a proper book format, or maybe like a light novel with the occasional illustrations, I'd probably pick that up.
Holy crap this is such a solid plot I really like the whole amy comet thing and the plot of how the original rogues are actually dead that was insane I wish Sonic had more to do in the plot but I understand that this is a Jet focused story I also really like that you focused on a parental figure and dad-son dynamics which is something sonic doesnt do that much gayle reminds me of characters like ging from hunter x hunter Good stuff right here you cooked. Good stuff ri
this is awesome! I like the new characters and story, you should totally do more of these, I would watch more of these fan story videos from you pariah! (maybe if could become one of you series like sonic was always good/the story of sonic)
Im tapped into this channel way too much because i found this 30 seconds after it was posted, with no notifications 😂 this one should be good though, Pariah fanfic lets goo!!
watching movie 3(ik u have no interest in those "hollywood" movies but I figured to bring up since I felt alot from that movie) your rider's story and then watching telekineticman's review on Shadow Gens all that after finishing final's week is such a week that I won't forget
@themissingbits6375 people all over the sonic fandon says he's super pretentious. but I feel like if anyone should be talking about sonic then it's him. on top of him being an amuter writer he also knows a lot about the symbolisms and meta elements about sonics character. Just because be could've stated his argument better about American sonic, that dosent mean he should be universaly hated
Just finished watching this, and man, was that amazing. It feels like something straight out of the late 2000s. The Ocs fit very well with the main cast, and I loved the themes of environmentalism and the story about Jets' father. It really helps with building on top of what was already established in previous games. I think some more original game stories and concepts would be sick in the future.
This was a fantastic story I love it so much I’m genuinely impressed! I think a sequel to the story should actually involve different characters this time. Mainly team rose and team chaotix and team dark. It can be sort of a spinoff of the spinoff of the riders series. It can be like a tournament with an all-star cast that’s in the realm of racing and it’s over some thing important enough that all these different teams want a piece of it. It can play like a traditional anime shonen tournament arc where every character in the story faces off against each other 1v1. And maybe trios and duos facing off against each other. Team sonic and team Babylon will also be there as well as team Eggman with metal sonic playable. And the moveset could be expanded to have more combat capabilities.
I just gotta say i love that design for jet's dad it's amazing, and i could totally see it. And this story is really good too i would love to see it or something similar in a game, or hell the fact that we have official and you have fan designs of the characters you could make a whole fan comic with this.
Thank you for sharing your Sonic Riders fanfiction with us and maintaining integrity with the spin-off series But seriously this is fun, thank you for sharing your ideas
i think my biggest compliment to this story is that i have nothing to say it's just a real sonic story to me, the characters added feel excellent - i love everything going on here, i'd love to play this game and i love the theme you got going for these tracks it's a third sonic riders story
This was a GREAT story. U addin the extra Amy story before the last was incredibly smart & was jus a great utilization of her the entire way through wit the right amount of payoff for her own groth in this series & how she helps others. kinda genius move ngl. This was very authentic to me(even wit the jp phrases) & it'd be cool if a fan game used this story. That'd be awesome. I was interested since u 1st mentioned makin this & it was better than I expected. Everyone jus FEELS like themselves so effortlessly. Especially sonic. He didn't play too much part but wut lil he did do or say was all so sonic & ties perfectly wit themes in the game as a whole. Even the old babylon rogues gen were used really well & there's a good amount of proper focus. Feels like u could start a whole new saga after this or leave it. I don't have anythin to critique tbh. So I'll say u should make a 2nd name for this story that ties more thematically to the whole thing. Like the jp title of the game the west never got(I'm thinkin of 0grav which is called shooting star story in jp kinda like wit unleashed & how it's world adv in jp). I really enjoyed this
I think Tails lacked more standout scenes. I would give more prominence to Jet; in my opinion, he is the main character of the Riders franchise. Other than that, it was perfect. Congratulations on the work! ❤️
I’m really mad. Not because this is bad or anything. I’m mad because this is such a cool story for a Sonic Riders game and I love Sonic Riders so so so much… but we will never ever get a game like this. EDIT: I was at work so I couldn’t give my whole thoughts on this so I’m back to do that! I hate that the term OCs has such an immediate negative connotation to it, because the older generation of Babylon Rouges that you have come up with are awesome. Genuinely, if this was a real Sonic Riders game in 2009 instead of Free Riders, then I think Gale, Mute, and Talon would be some of my favorite characters in the series. The ending got me in my feels, which is something I have never felt about Jet the Hawk of all characters. And the idea of natural disasters breaking up the tracks and causing each lap to be unique or whatever sounds like a super fun idea for a racing game! Man all of this is just quintessential Sonic to me and I love it. My one critique is that it kinda feels like Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles don’t really have much to do until the end, it’s sorta back loaded in that way, and some of the chapters feel much less significant than others, but overall I’d say you nailed this. As an amateur game dev, I’d love to make this a fan game and turn it into a straight up true Sonic Riders 3. If anybody else is down with this idea, I’d love to pursue it!
The story is peak!! I Love the through, the ideas and the expantion on the riders games and the sending almost made me cry with Gale's development. Can you please make more sonic stories like this or new that aren't made for video games? Very please.
Pariah isn't really an official author yet, so for now it's very unlikely. Maybe if he finally publishes a work via a publisher SEGA will keep an eye on him.
Given the constraints your had, I think you did pretty well. Restrictions breed creativity, after all. I've always wanted to see a Sonic story where the Rogue's ancestors had a prominant role, especially Jet's dad. There's so much potential left untouched by Sonic Team here, it's incredibly frustrating. I also like the girlfriend running gag here, it's cute. If I really had to point out some flaws in your fanfic here, it would be that first, Sonic himself doesn't have a prominant role in the story. He's not a goal for Jet to reach, nor an actor in his character arc. Him, Tails and Knuckles don't interact enough with the young Rogues to justify their presence. It could have been a great character moment where Jet's father says something like "I see you've made good friends" to tease Jet, but actually noticed spending time with Sonic has made him grow as a rider and a person, and would help bring out the moment where members of both teams team up to stop the adult Rogues. Secondly, I feel Amy's story is too short. I like how she gets back at Eggman by doing the tornado thing with her board, but she hasn't really earned that moment as we never in the story have an allusion to her training at any given point. I mean, it's not much and it's believable here, but even a single line of dialogue would have hepled selling the idea. Also, seeing her trying to reconcile Jet with his dad, she could have done the same with Wave/Tails and Storm/Knuckles, to flesh out the character arcs they needed and to justify their teaming up later on. Plus, it would have made her totally earned her victory over Eggman, as by helping others solve their personal issues, she ends up a bit more like Sonic in a way. But honestly, what you came up with is still miles above anything Sonic Team has spoonfed up in like ever, so I can't complain, those are still minor gripes.
This feels pretty natural to a Sonic story of that era, it's also a nice way to end this one in particular... Damn it now im sad that we are never getting more Sonic Riders game officially, I mean Tournament edition and DX are amazing, same for Regravitified and Free Riders without kitnet... But still until a really good fan projects comes this is it for the riders series... And while i like that majority of the sumo racing games... Unless we have all of Sega characters involve, after playing Riders for so long, it just doesn't feel right for Sonic.
Fantastic story. Got me emotional at the end with the father and son relation. Love it. Amazing work, the fact you actually consider it as a game story and embrace that, was stellar. Keep on, my most sincered and deserved congratulations.
Giga Chad move of Pariah for INTENTIONALLY forgetting that Knuckles is supposed to Guard the Master Emerald on Angel Island. He’s truly staying true to The source, and I mean that genuinely.

Yeah, that was really cool :D!

And he's a freaking sigma for that
As a die-hard Riders fan and amateur metaphor writer myself, I need this as a real game yesterday.

To be fair, the Riders' storytelling was more on the nose with its themes than the mainlije games at this time.
Also, he's just telling us the story. There's no cut scenes for this hypothetical game.
this video is more so a verbal storyboard rather than a finished product. he’s actively explaining things to us that would probably go unsaid had it been fully animated.
Really like the detail that both Mute and Talon have a very washed out color pallete, meanwhile Gale has that really contrasting orange. It goes to show that he is the main deal of that team, while the other 2 characters don't matter much compared to him. (I don't mean this as a bad thing, both of their designs really rock, especially Talon imo)
Needless to say the story was fantastic. I especially really liked the thing with the comet, like as soon as I realized what that scene with Amy and Jet was setting up, I couldn't help but smile.
you genuinely have a great grasp on what made these characters so appealing to those of us who became fans in the 2000s. I could picture so many of these scenes in my head and all the setups and payoffs were really satisfying. by the end with the comet I couldn’t help but smile lol.
you should seriously pursue writing for the series in some way officially
yeah this is one of the few times i feel like unironically saying “sega hire this man!!”
The story is sooo engaging to where the story makes you want to picture them so badly
It’s soo good to where it makes it feel easy to picture in your head
Finally, the Pariah Movie is now in theatres.
Youve now showed your hand, and youre "showing us what youre made of."
I am thoroughly impressed and entertained.
I imagine that he’d really love and appreciate this wholesome comment and genuine criticism. Completely agreed overall 🤞
Yknow, this story has the perfect amount of characterisation about the old babylon rouges. It almost made me shed a tear at the end
If this were in an actual game, I would've cried. This video made me come really close to it, though.
I'll probably never become a proper writer, but I'll surely make a plenty of little stories for my short animations
till I or the animation industry will die.
Thank you, Pariah ❤
Happy to hear that man. Have a happy Christmas.

Man. That ending. That is pure 2000’s Sonic. I love it.
The OCs look insane btw, some of the best I've seen
Going forward Jet's development can be that he doesn't care about comparing himself to others like being the fastest or faster than Sonic, and instead just wants to do his best for his own sake
The flashback with the security is actually before the mission that got them killed.
We don't really know what happend there.
sonic doing nothing is probably intentional since this story is VERY clearly jet's story first and foremost.
BlackDevilX passed away last night, rest in peace
Coldsteel is a parody of Sonic OCs, not an actual OC someone made genuinely

I really like this. It manages to hit all the emotional moments properly and handles the absent parent plot in a mature manner. Plus, it progresses Jet’s rivalry with Sonic to something he can genuinely enjoy.
I also really like Mute. He’s the kind of guy that has one gimmick to his character but it’s entertaining.
i noticed that there's some clunkiness to some stuff characters say,but that was probably a byproduct of how you kinda did the bits of dialogue like the actual sonic game dubs of the 2000s,which feels very authentic.
It absolutely was intentional

@themissingbits6375 ... Sure
This was very well-thought out, feels very authentic to the 2000s Sonic stories, like the ending especially. Well done.
Pretty good story! Just 2 problems:
Sonic doesn't really talk much
Honestly, point 1 is not really true, most 2000s games don't focus a lot on Sonic, in SA1 they focus on the other character, Sonic barely affects their stories, in SA2 he does get a bit more attention, but still, the story focusses on Shadow more than anyone else, and this story is not about Sonic, is about Jet and his Father, and Sonic does serve a purpose, he is the reason Jet has this problem.
and for point 2 this is supposed to be a follow up to the previous riders games, so unless you haven't watched those or paid much attention then what he did here is fine.
Dude it sounds fantastic. I'm genuinely bummed that this most likely will never happen
I REALLY love the new characters and the ending to this story. Wonderful job here, Pariah!!

@WhATUpmAN301 Pariah releases videos early on his Patreon.
07:00 The gimmick actually sounds interesting as a gameplay concept. Reminds me a lot of Motor Storm
Holy peak that ending was soo fuckign good. The emotions were so right
This is loads of fun, and makes me nostalgic for the first Riders game.
Gale is the one that introduces Eggman to the Breath of Terra. Guess I didn't make that clear in the explanation here.
@@Pariah6950 Nice. This story is excellent, it deserves to have its cutscenes produced as a fan animation.

Mr. Pariah, you’ve cooked up a banger story right here. Well done! I really like these new characters, and I WANT TO PLAY THIS GAME, FUCK!!!
This was really nice, it would be cool to see you make more of these original story videos
Love the story, excellent setups & payoffs, the ending even got me a bit emotional, very well done & very Sonic.
I was expecting something a bit awkward, but it's very decent, even good, there's clearly thought behind it, that's encouraging
I love the thought that went into your OC's. Jet's father surfer motif, His soap opera with His son and their farewell at the end Is beautiful (also at the end I got an AD for a song called "Pa que te fuiste" by Elena Rose and it's ironically funny how the lyrics fit...)
Mute's gag doing what owls do Is morbidly funny, and oddly enough I had my own Babylon Rouge Croe design with purple clothing idea, so I love Talon too jsjsjs.
Very easily my favorite riders story and I'm kind of pissed it's not actually real
@@BakuganRey right lmao
Speaking of:
GAAAAAAHHHHH I LOVE THE LATE ROGUES!!!
It's so ironic that I'm watching this video while it's super windy outside
Holy crap this is such a solid plot I really like the whole amy comet thing and the plot of how the original rogues are actually dead that was insane I wish Sonic had more to do in the plot but I understand that this is a Jet focused story
I also really like that you focused on a parental figure and dad-son dynamics which is something sonic doesnt do that much gayle reminds me of characters like ging from hunter x hunter
Good stuff right here you cooked.

After this story I think Jet should be faster than Sonic when they're racing on extreme gear, as his own little victory over him
Would love to hear more about these stories! Almost shed a tear in the end… Great job!
This is insanely good.
Now we wait for someone to make a fangame of this.
Beautiful work, I really enjoyed how everything came together!
Finally, a proper dilf in the sonic series.
I Can now 100% confidently say that you need to be a writer for Sonic. Great work, dude!
I just gotta say i love that design for jet's dad it's amazing, and i could totally see it. And this story is really good too i would love to see it or something similar in a game, or hell the fact that we have official and you have fan designs of the characters you could make a whole fan comic with this.
Thank you for sharing your Sonic Riders fanfiction with us and maintaining integrity with the spin-off series
But seriously this is fun, thank you for sharing your ideas
This was very enjoyable to listen to, you did a great job with it
Not goanna lie might animated this into a movie

Very on point, very in line, Very Freaking Cool Stuff
"Sonic Riders: Inclement weather"
i think my biggest compliment to this story is that i have nothing to say
it's just a real sonic story to me, the characters added feel excellent - i love everything going on here, i'd love to play this game and i love the theme you got going for these tracks
it's a third sonic riders story
Well, someone needs to animate this, now
Someone needs to show this to SuperGoTails animations fr fr
Loved it
30:15 Legend of Sonic: The Wind Waker
Can we get another story please
One day Pariah will be the writer of official Sonic games.
Pariah isn't really an official author yet, so for now it's very unlikely. Maybe if he finally publishes a work via a publisher SEGA will keep an eye on him.
He doesn't care about that and im sure Pariah doesn't want to work with sega
@@joaquindiaz3621 I asked him on his first stream of Shadow Generations and he said that he would adore working with them.
Sega hire this man pls
Unless we have all of Sega characters involve, after playing Riders for so long, it just doesn't feel right for Sonic.
this was very good
Fantastic story. Got me emotional at the end with the father and son relation. Love it. Amazing work, the fact you actually consider it as a game story and embrace that, was stellar. Keep on, my most sincered and deserved congratulations.
The amy being jet girlfriend bit
Was genuinely funny 😂😂😂
the girlfriend gag reminds me of the boyfriend gag from chowder
