There are, actually! A whole team is behind our channel, writing, researching, directing, and working with all these amazing concepts. The lyre ecosystem has evolved steadily over the last decade, and we are very happy to be part of this musical evolution! :)

Hello! I already have a Chelys Lyre of Hermes and am thinking about getting a Lyre of Sappho (You gotta love those Barbiton Lyres) I wanted to know, what sort of evidence do we have for how Plectrums were made? I am not a huge fan of the one that came with my Lyre, as it is a little bit cumbersome and uncomfortable, but I wanted to know if we have any ancient sources talking about the make of the Plectrum (other than Sappho's supposed invention of it).
Also, is Lutheiros Perhaps thinking of making variant Plectrums? I would totally buy one!
I can't wait for more content!

Hi Greene, and thank you for supporting our channel so actively, adding value to our audience with your comments :)
Sources regarding plectrums are mainly ancient amphorae's depictions, where you can analyze how they were used by the lyre players, and how they might look like. Then, you need to test all the experimental plectrums with musicians, gather feedback, and gradually make small meaningful improvements (at least this is what we observe they are doing at LUTHIEROS all these years). And the last step is not the end, as you need to do it again and again (as more musicians discover this instrument, the more insights a luthier can gather for the plectrum's usage and practicality).
A good example of such an amphorae's depiction is this one: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plectrum#/media/File:Alkaios_Sappho_Staatliche_Antikensammlungen_2416_n1.jpg
As for your last question, we know for sure that LUTHIEROS Workshop is constantly experimenting with different types of plectrums. We have seen at least three different types during our video recordings the last two months, so hopefully, more options will be announced soon. We will let their Master Luthiers know of your inquiry! :)

Hello! What's the name of the lyre you use in this video? It has the beautiful curved arms of the Aphrodite/Apollo/Olympus lyres and the beautiful turtoise body of the Hermes lyre, but on your website I cannot find a lyre that combines both.

Thanks for watching, Vincent! This is an older version of the Lyre of Hermes. Since then, many meaningful changes have been made to all the LUTHIEROS lyres, ending up with enhanced instruments, more stable ones, and, of course, superior sound. Let us know if we can help you further!
What's more, many videos like this premiere on our channel every week, so subscribe here to stay tuned: ttps://ruclips.net/user/seikilo
