It‘s definitely basswood. Currently i‘m carving this kind of spoon of olivewood. It takes some time but it‘s doable.

What type of wood is that?

I did some investigating and it's produced in Ukraine so it might be from that area roundabouts .

The kit was made in Ukraine so that narrows it down in types of wood possibly

They claim it to be basswood, but it carves really really nice!
