IMO, the major sins that Peter Jackson committed, were making Faramir a completely different character, and making Frodo tell Sam to leave before Shelob. They make up reasons like "we needed to have some reason that Frodo and Sam were separated" - okay, so do what they did in the fucking book?
Great video bro, I always get excited when you drop something. You may not be the biggest channel, but your content is just as awesome as the big RUclipsrs like Nerd of the rings and the rest of them. Please keep it going, brother. I would eventually get another mic, but this one is MORE than passable for now.

Thanks so much for the support mate, it genuinely means so much (especially considering that Nerd of the rings is one of my favorite youtubers as well).
As to your point about Frodo and Sam, whilst I do somewhat understand the reasoning from PJ, i honestly feel so betrayed because of how hard I cried as a kid watching that scene, completely oblivious that it never actually happened 😂

@@CinemaLoreYT About the support, No problem man, I wish I wasn't such an introvert and had any kind of social media because I would share you if I did lmao. Your content is 100% on part with NOTR. You are just as educated on what you are speaking about as he is, you are just as articulate as he is, and you are just as thorough in your explanation as he is. You make excellent content.
My only piece of advice is to one day when you see a deal on a better mic, grab one. It's not important to the point where you need to starve yourself to buy a mic, because your mic is 100% tolerable, no exaggeration, the mic is okay for now, and I don't want to seem like I'm shitting on you in any way, I'm just giving a little advice lol. II'm also an audio engineer, so my ears are probably more in tune to hearing things than others.
Hahaha I skip it every time, I wish it were filmed, so I could take the movie and edit it out, but because of the way it was adapted it just doesn't work. All of a sudden, Sam would just be gone, LMAO.

enjoyed this analysis. i think even in the film denethor does come across as having more depth (like i can totally see that he used the palantir at some point and his personality changed, etc.). i actually feel sauron could have been fleshed out more in the films beyond just the 'big bad' - the personification of him as an eye is brilliant though

You just have to understand the limitations of making a film. They compressed denathor because there was no time to develop him and show his transition to madness.
So I stand by the film 100%. There was no other way to do it without having a ridiculously contrived character arc like something from got season 8. And we do not speak of got season 8.

I don't think he works well in either book or film. In the books the nuances you outline are understood by very few and he serves largely to slow down the pacing of the book. In the film he just seems to be there as a buffoon and the omission of the Palantir feels like a big miss.
