My sons head was flat and every single appointment I would bring it up because it bothered me SO much, but it shaped out on its own! Once they start sitting it helps a lot!

My son had a flat head around 4 months old, his pediatrician just advised us to do more tummy time and constantly turning his head so that way he wasn’t on the flat side of his head. He grew out of it so try these suggestions! It’s normal and nothing to worry about! You’re doing a great job, momma!

My daughter spent 40 days in NICU had a perfectly round head.. I was in the nicu holding her 12 hrs a day. When she came home I held her all day she would slept tho 12 hours a night and started having a flat head.. I got so nervous dr said don't worry about it and her head is perfect now at 11 months! It just rounded it self out. Her head looked like Stella!

Thanks for your openness about her head! My son is 8 now, head flat af but so so so handsome and so so so healthy! My 4 month old now has some flatness from developing a preference to sleep on his left. I keep him off that side and have noticed a difference. I also take him out of his car seat as soon as we hit our destination and try to space out our outings so he isn’t always on his head. Hope you get the answers you’re looking for. My daughter is 4 months and I used olive oil for her cradle cap. All i did is put olive oil on her head and get one of those thin combs, and start combining it back. Do that for 5 min and than give her a bath . I only did it 3 times( a few days apart ) and now her head is all clean.

Please get little Stella an appointment to see a physical therapist! plagio can be very serious, but it’s a very easy thing to fix and pediatric physical therapists are sweet angels on earth! There are many steps you can take to resolve it prior to a helmet! Like you said, the earlier she sees a PT the easier it is to resolve!

Trust me they told my parents that and now I'm 22 and severely self-conscious. I got bullied for it and even had a ex-girlfriend point it out. I can never find a haircut that's right, I'm 100% it has nothing to do with genetics and all with how babies sleep. Either way, it messes alot of people up when they grow up and if I'm being honest looking in the mirror at my profile makes me depressed.

My son had a pretty severe flat head. Helmets were recommended, but I decided to try a couple things first before we dove in to using a doc band. We ended up getting a dock-a-tot for him to sleep in at night and it completely worked itself out! We also went to a cranial technology office, and I do feel like they are biased to wanting you to buy a helmet. Just my opinion! Do what feels right to you momma! ❤️

  • @littlewifethatcould

My little man is 5 months as well, over 14lbs and nearly 26” long. He’s just about to be in 6m clothes. He also is the happiest baby ever. He laughs and smiles all day. He also basically cat naps all day and sleeps from 8-9pm to 5:30am. Then asleep again until 7-8am. I can’t wait until he naps better because I need to be able to get more done in the day. I wanted to say I was also worried about my baby’s head. To me it doesn’t look that bad, but I worried about it constantly because it looked like it was starting to get flat. I was told by his pediatrician and chiropractor that his head is perfectly fine. I was told that the flat area is where the plates of his head are forming together and it’s giving a flat appearance. Because I’m still not convinced, I try to do more tummy time and such. The thing is, he is held or sitting up most of the day. Has been since he came home from the hospital. He had such a perfectly round head until he was like 3m old, then all of a sudden I swear it looked less round. I was told because he sleeps in long stretches in the night, it can cause a flat head. I was told to try and have him sleep on his side and alternate sides every night (I did that with my daughter, but because she loved sleeping on her side, she had the most perfectly round head, still does at 5). So I would say maybe just try having her sleep on her side? I’ve been trying with my LO but he loves sleeping on his back, with his head facing to the right. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I was told once they sit up more and such, it’ll fix itself. Here’s to hoping.
Also, I’ve thought about cutting my hair too because my hair won’t stop falling out. I feel like my pony tail is so thin now. Haha. My husband refuses to let me cut it though. Ugh.

You are doing a great job Mama! My daughter had a flat head and the pediatrician didn’t seemed very concerned. I knew in my gut it was not okay though. We took her to be evaluated for a helmet and she fell in the “severe” category. She wore it for 5 months and it helped tremendously. I am so glad we did it. The earlier, the better. I felt guilty too, but it’s absolutely not your fault. 💕

Hi there, do you have a pediatric neurologist for your baby? You should really get an appointment with a neurologist if you haven't already. I hope you don't think I'm being pushy but getting your baby checked out by a neurologist cannot possibly hurt her. They will just check her reflexes and lots of other things like is she meeting her milestones, etc. I have a 25 year old who was born at 4lb 4oz.
    Btw your baby is adorable.

My pediatrician recommended Selsun blue at our 6m appointment the other day. He said it sounds weird but it works for that lingering cradle cap. My little guy was starting to scratch his though and he had little scratches all over. Coconut oil wasn’t cutting it anymore. I got the naturals kind and it already looks so much better and he’s stopped scratching.

The crown and back of my head is flat (mostly my back head) and as a grown woman, I cannot wear any headband, they just slip off, and I can’t wear a low ponytail. But, it is what it is 🤷🏼‍♀️😊 I just have to limit the hairdos I can pull off, and make the best of it. 😊

I love these updates my son is 2 days older than yours and he’s is doing the exact same things as Stella. I totally get that your waiting on 6 months to try solids I wish I waited because it seems every other food we try he brakes out into a reaction it’s very unsettling 🙈.. and as nice as the dr may have been the fact that she didn’t try to comfort you in letting you know more about why her head maybe like that and what will happen next and that she didn’t want to keep an eye on it just seeming to brush it off I am completely with you wanting to get a second opinion even if it is okay you’ll feel so much better. You shouldn’t feel any stress and worry about something that could end up being serious in the long run I’m glad your getting a second opinion very curious to hear what they will tell you. I pray everything goes fine!😉

My generation (born late 80s) was pretty much the last of flat head Asian babies after the use of a ceiling-suspended sarong (hammock) bouncer was axed from most households. Today, most of us Asians with flat heads are a result of hours left in those sarongs.... I have a super flat head as if someone sliced off a part of my skull and seriously makes any hairstyle really bad on me. Even a pony tail was bad... Layered hair cuts didn't work either. We just spent too much time in those hammock things (up until 3 years) so it never gave our skulls a chance to grow out.

I exclusively pumped for 3months and held hope for my son to latch. A little after 3months old, I gave it a go again again (I would always try daily/weekly) and BOOM!! He latched and I’ve been breastfeeding him since! Unfortunately he won’t take a bottle now, surprisingly. BUT I know that will take time as well like it did with latching. Thank you for sharing your video. My son has a flat head and I hold guilt that I didn’t do things correctly as a mom to prevent that:/

My daughters head got like that too. My daughter was 5 lbs 5oz when she was born. She laid on her back a lot and since their heads are so formable as a baby it can make their head flat if they are on it too much. I just had to put her on her tummy or put her in a toy that stood her up. She’s 2 now and her head is normal we never used a helmet or anything

Im having thr same problem with my 6month old son my pediatrician said to sitting him in the baby booster seat because it keeps them propped up and supported without having their head get flattened by laying on it or having them sit up more i am also going to try the tortle beanie which i hear work and a anti flat head pillow so 🤞i hope this will work and good luck with your baby keep us updated and let us know what works for you

CzechSilesianMappper who says I’m trying to fix my baby’s head? I’m just saying for health reasons. Her doctor already told me so that’s why I thought so weeks ago if you don’t know anything just kee your opinion to yourself. As a mother I do what’s best for my baby. Little do YOU know.
