Sweet bumper! I've already got my XL7 bumper about 50% finished, but I'm probably going to do some modification to my design and steal some of your ideas if that's cool!
It's been a busy start to the year here at Balmer Fab so I haven't had much time for videos lately but I'll do my best to add some more GV content ASAP! Thanks for your views!
@@BalmersWorkshop take your time I totally understand what it's like to have a lot of projects and things of course are coming up why you're trying to get those projects completed. You doing a great job and I just recently found you so I appreciate everything you're doing which is awesome. I just wish I could find myself a nice GV limited 2.5 , 3.2 (09'-10')or GV XL7 (not that stretch equinox fwd mess) in great condition, but not so many miles are being overpriced. You're awesome
10,000 lbs pull??? The owner obviously wants to stretch this truckster into an XL7 😂. I fabbed my own on my XL7 using the stock bumper and skin. It simply uses a Warn tray with the stock bumper cut out to the profile of the tray. The tray is welded to all the edges of the bumper and bolted through the Suzi's frame. I cut the skin at a 1 cm bigger clearance profile of the winch and made an opening to the clutch control. Painted it matching silver to the truck. It's a 4,500 lb winch with a snatch block. Many people don't even notice it...I like that. These trucksters are a bit delicate. I never liked the idea of adding wieght to the front of it. I estimate it added 35 pounds to the front end. I likely swap the steel cable to synth at some point to save a couple of pounds. I'm also old enough not to want to pimp out my ride. A 3 inch lift gets me over the BC cross ditches and decommissioned forest service roads. I don't mind pine pinstriping or body rock rash. Function over fashion. I've already parked it on it's passenger doors on a power line road. These trucks are tippy right out of the factory. Going too high is a lifetime of weekends doing body work.
Mine '04 would love a beefy bumper. Just got a (regular)? '04, Vataira. 4 door, v6, 4x4- guess they all are? My 82 yr Mother has it as her side by side farm buggy.
Thanks for your comment! I didn't install this lift - it's offered by my competition. I may wind up producing my own lift kit for these vehicles so please stay tuned to the website: www.balmerfab.com
Hi Rodrigo, how's the weather in Chile? The vehicle has a 4.5" suspension lift and a 2" body lift. I believe the tires are either 31"x10.5" or 32"x.10.5
Another great DIY video by Darrin. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for your comment! Yours sounds like a nice, subtle rig. This customer wanted something a bit more eye catching and unique. Each to their own ;)
You can winch this into an apartment while towing a loaded trailer!
Outstanding work.
