I'm not gonna pretend to know how pro table talk works but at an amateur level saying "I don't think you have a queen" means "please, please call me with a queen", meaning he can beat them. And sure, you could think through that and do the opposite but that's a lot of logical steps for how quickly he responded "not a queen".
absolutely... the body reacts... even when you don't... your opponents still have to pick up on that (or not) AND interpret it what it means correctly (or not)
F'ing A... I haven't played in a long time, but I recall flopping the nuts and my heart rate was so high anyone paying attention would be able to tell.
Maria gets a read after asking what the board was. Even if Charlie stays quiet I think Maria folds for lack of info. Just knowing its only the first hand and there will be more. Pro stuff.
(haven't watched to find out) I think she finds a fold not because anything Charlie did wrong but because she's a VERY strong player and has been for years longer than Charlie's even been able to play legally.
9:45 This might be an editing trick, but it looked like Carrel was panicking when the clock was running out. IDK how Maria found that fold. She bragged once about folding quads in a cash game, but this is no weak reg she was up against.
but its a game show tournament , If you didn't say anything during the hand , it just boring , the speech is important to make game show more interesting.
So, you try and get a lot of money in with hands that are usually good but vulnerable to being outdrawn...then what do you do when flush and/or straight cards come in? I feel like if I stop the aggression, it is a sign of weakness, and they will often steal the pot. If I continue the aggression, I am betting into a better hand. How do you cope with this tricky situation?
Stack depth determines strategy. The deeper the stacks relative to the size of the pot, the more valuable draws become and the less aggressively you should play made hands. The reverse is the case with shorter stacks. Ideally with made hands you want to get most/all of the money in, but that's rarely possible, so in high stack-to-pot ratio situations you're better off playing cautiously on draw-heavy boards and aggressively on dry boards.
he could have bet more on the turn too... a pot size bet (anywhere from 430-500k) on the turn over the 350k option sets up a pot-size shove on the river.
@TrustMeIKnowEverything Funny. She plays poker at the highest level and usually makes wrong folds eh? What level are you playing? I would bet my left nut you have no sweet clue how to play poker.
Seeing as how I've seen her tank and fold like the second nuts before where she was wrong, I'm guessing she is going fold again. I don't know the structure but the question for me would be is he bluffing on the very first hand? If he isn't, he most likely has us beat. I'd probably just call though, trips HU is a monster, if he has my hand beat so be it. I don't think as an overall strategy you can fold this hand and be profitable.
I think she is going to fold. If Charlie had actually watched all her videos then he would have seen her making some big laydowns, and even some stupid laydowns. I'm predicting that all the guys watching the video are going to start high fiving/fist bumping each other. Now on to the video. Edit: I didn't see folding by mistake, but it could have been on purpose and played off like it was a mistake. Only two guys did the high-five thing. So, I think I was just half right.
maybe i play online too much but it seems like an easy fold. i doubt he'd go all in the first hand with a missed draw like 10 j hearts. everthing else she loses too, higher queen or a set
I think it's one of those situations where if you make the right choice u look like a genius, and if charlie was bluffing she would have looked bad. Even the pros in the backroom would have called. That being said Mario Ho is a great player so naybe she did make a good live read.

First of all, I do respect your poker skills. But man You're wrong here, Maria knew her hand would be dead. The reason she folded is because she put Charlie exactly on a Queen here. It seems you can still make a lot of improvement in your live game, Maria is just legend, almost on par with Daniel regarding live reads. I will explain the situation here. Charlie's game is simply much weaker when his opponent happens to be a gorgeous woman. Guess who's game also gets real fishy against a gorgeous woman. I find Charlie particularly annoying. So go Maria!
That guy is a smug a-hole
"a weird ass dude charlie is" - yoda
I agree
He was kinda weird on that/those show(s). They clothes that he wore...wasn't he shirtless on the first episode?
he is creepy for sure and on the other side of the bell curve Maria is amazing!!!
The fact that Charlie specifically pointed out there's two hearts on the board killed it

no he said that because she was tanking so in his mind it's unlikely she has a Queen
Charlie is creepy af
I 100% agree with you, dude definitely gives off chomo vibes.

This table talk is dire. Not sure there's anyone more cringey at the table than Charlie.
An Aussie twitch poker streamer called KakiTee completely dismantled this charlatan. Carrell is a fraud.

Absolutely !
absolutely... the body reacts... even when you don't...

She definitely picked up on something there.....Maria has always been a top level player - she knows when to fold em'
My read is telling me Charlie is a weirdo
F'ing A... I haven't played in a long time, but I recall flopping the nuts and my heart rate was so high anyone paying attention would be able to tell.
I agree the table talk resulted in a little more thought. I think the glance at the clock made her fold.
Charlie his table talk but also when he watched the clock was a clear tell that he was strong.
The title says she folds…lol
I know so dumb of this idiot to give it away in the title

She’s just looking for a read through speech . He shouldn’t have said anything after she asked twice
that s why hes a fish

Sometimes you have to get stacked when they get there. Sometimes you can check/call. But they get there way less often than they miss.
I dont know, but i dont think someone who wants a fold is bringing so much attention to the clock as it runs out. Maybe that swayed her?

8:00 I've already seen it, so spoiler alert, but she clowned just about everyone on the show, Carrel perhaps most of all!
We know Maria likes to fold. Charlie talking too much as usu…
When he said u have a 9 that means he beats a 9... what beats a 9 here effectively is a stronger queen
bingo
10s/JJ could value bet here
@Matzes but with an over pot size bet? I don't know i think tt or jj would bet 1/3 pot as a value
could also imply he thinks a 9 will fold genius.
maria breaths big folds so if anyone can find it

Charlie is just pure cringe
Is this contrived?
Charlie's double take look at the clock ment to me he's quite relaxed. Someone's who's nervous would only take one look and pray like hell
really hope maria took him for as much as possible

I could not fold. The fact that Maria could fold, even might fold, means she is better than me.

Maria is the one who folded quads live didn't she...?
She folded set of 10s on the flop after she called huge 3bet preflop.
Maria is kind of nitty (for a pro) so I think she would have found the fold.
Great fold. If I was her. I would think he had Q 10 or Q J and her kicker is too low
Very good fold.
She will fold she got him talking she knows her kicker is bad
Maria also folded a set of T's OTF. Because 4-way flops are scary.
Charlie didn’t to himself. What a weirdo.
