Miss Minutia Write a letter to Hollywood about it to tell them. No one thinks she was the “villain” but you and maybe a few others. I’m sure the ones with enough interest to research will find out that she was a good, charitable woman with no plans of settling during her career.
I'm so excited to have found this! I am related to Jenny Lind and I'm a lyric coloratura singer too. Although we will never be able to hear Jenny Lind on recording we can imagine that she sounded as beautiful as Elizabeth Parcells. I also anticipate finding more recordings of this voice. Brava!
Jenny Linds voice was much more divine( as I know her soul being a medium and sound healing vocalist) ...this singer sings nice but doesnt have that divine connection in her voice, ...now check out Frieda Helms from 1910..she had it and sang Jenny's music.
Karen D'Angelo I just stumbled across your post on this video. I also am related to Jenny Lind, being her great great granddaughter. Her son Walter Otto Goldschmidt and his wife were my grandmother’s parents. My grandmother was Eve Goldschmidt. I am also called Jenny, and have written several songs which I used to perform in public and have a high soprano voice. I would be interested to know the details of your lineage to her as I am currently delving into making a family tree. Hopefully, you will get this reply as I see that you comment was over three years ago! Thanks 😊
First time I have heard this lady and it will not be my last! She not only is a beautiful singer but has an aura of gentleness & humility. I will be searching for her story. Thank you so much for sharing her music. Just lovely!
Just bought an 1860s Jenny Lind Calabash Flask in Gettysburg and am glad this is on youtube. And dang, youtube was hardly a year old when this was uploaded.
Bravo!
Absolutely beautiful aria and voice - the late Elizabeth Parcells. I'm surprised her talent did not take her so far as it may have - but its lovely to know her talent wasn't completely unwasted.
Actually you're wrong. Do you hear her control and get close shimmery sound. You're used to screaming and pushing. Callas had a horrible wobble that ruined her singing because of pressed pronation.
@@jimbuxton2187 HOw the HELL do you know WHAT I am 'used to'? I have sung professionally for over 30 years, sang with Sutherland and Sills. I also have a DMA. And you? Nada......
I’m here because I watched the Greatest Showman 🔥

ditto- sounds nice tho
How sad we don't have a recording of Jenny Lind 's voice. Thank you for all the information about her.
Listen to Frieda Hempel..she sang her
So there is no real recordings of her?

Listen to Frieda Hempel she was divine like Jenny.. and sang her Songs in early 1920s
Amazed!!!! This is true opera at its finest. 🙌💗

So beautiful, so much feeling I could cry.
Her voice in Und Ob die Wolke reminds me so much of Elizabeth Grummer , my favourite Agathe! Parcells does a very lovely job here. Brava...
Beautiful!
ものすごく美しい歌声です。
こんなにすごいソプラノは滅多に見つからないです。
今日、私は初めて彼女の名前を知りました。
Oh my, her voice makes German as light as clouds. What a sweet soprano!

Did Jenny Lind perform this opera in German or her native Swedish?
German
wow here she is again with that absolutely perfect coloratura soprano..the best voice in that register in a long time
Have just picked up this piece to work on - I'm delighted to have come across this rendition - thanks for posting - :)
Her supremely gentle singing of this Freischutz aria reminds me so much of the great Elizabeth Grummer! Two Elizabeths and both wonderful as Agathe.
Ich bin tief begeistert..
Wonderfully pure singing. In it's truest sense this is indeed bel canto.

Me too, although I'm currently training as a mezzo-soprano.
many more recordings on www.elizabethparcells.com
i am here because i wanna hear the Jenny Lind's operatic version of Never Enough. I love Music.
Listen to Frieda Hempel do Jenny's concert
Is it true? there is not a record of Jenny Lind?
Correction: That her talent wasn't completely wasted.
She was real
r Ray of course. Didn't you know that?
This is what I was expecting in the movie, I mean never enough is a good song but is not opera.
I am confused. Why isn't she singing Never Enough?
LOL JK
Beautiful! Too bad The Greatest Showman had to completely butcher Jenny Lind's image for me to find this.
It ruined the whole movie for me.
Not even close to Jenny.....Frieda Hempel felt Jenny's soul
majutsu
Are you serious?
high larynx, pressed phonation. Lovely dress.
