I told my daughter your peers are not interviewing you, MINE ARE!!!
ABSOLUTELY!
Amen
Yes this was said perfectly and thank God. I can’t take anyone seriously with blue hair.
Facts ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
There are plenty of Millennials out there hiring people, but none of them want people with blue hair!
If she recently graduated, she is not a Millennial. She sounds like Gen Z.
That's a clip from an old episode.
@@SammySam316Steven didnt have this talk show 10 years ago lol. Millennials graduated college like in 2013 at The lastest lol
People can go to school at any age. I’m a physical therapist assistant and decided to continue my education and graduate this week. I’m 30.
@@alyssahopkins1799true. But she sounds immature . No 30 year old is speaking about their parents the way she is
@@alyssahopkins1799 I guess it’s never too late? 🤷🏽♀️
GenX here. I had blue hair in college, in the 80s. I didn't have blue hair when I went on an interview with a Fortune 100 company. The problem with younger generations is that they expect the world to conform to them.
@gingeroxendine2288 I disagree with hair, I am 53 years old and I work in HR, trust me if I must by the law conform to hire the LGBTQA+ candidates, and individuals with disturbing religious beliefs I can certainly hire a young girl with blue hair, tattoos, and piercing if she's qualified. We must accept people's differences.
1969 Gen X here - one either infiltrates and changes within or creates their own paradigm - ive done both - this blue haired young woman is seemingly lacking any real sense of self and worldly experience for asking an otherwise ridiculoos question.
I hade a skunk Mohawk in the 80’s. In 88 grew my hair out to military style and got a $5 hr job. Military didn’t want me.
He is CORRECT...
I WOULD NOT HIRED HER
The problem is we're getting taught by Satanists that the world should conform to our inverted sense of reality.
But.
It's us that need to conform to the Will of God Almighty and become humble enough to follow Jesus Christ.
You say break the boundries, employers hear lawsuit, grievances and negative media attention.
How entitled can one be? Great answer, Mr. Harvey.
She's not a millennial, she is generation Z.
No she's not gen z. The episode is from 10yrs ago
If your only assumption is that she said she just graduated. People go to school at different ages.
I’m confused on why she’s associating being a millennial with tattoos and piercings. That’s 💯 her personal style & not a millennial thing. We don’t claim her🤣
Because she is a millennial!! lol
Lol you are funny
really we kinda normalized that just saying
Tattoos and piercings have been around long before them lol I’m 39 tattoos and pierced. I don’t like corporate work and I did construction. One time my boss asked me to take my piercings out for the customer. I said no and good luck finding someone who can do the job as good as me lol. Needless to say I wasn’t fired and kept my piercings in. Construction ain’t easy he wasn’t gonna find another guy 🤣
It’s Steve’s faces when the questions are crazy that are killing me 😂😂😂. I love Uncle Steve.
Sounds more like a gen z ( age of 27 or younger) if she is speaking about what her parents think.
Millennials are ages 28-43.
Urrrrr no, I’m millennial, and she’s the type of millennial that makes me never want to identify as a millennial.
Imagine that but 3 times worse, it exists and it's called Gen Z
@@tommylap01 agreed. The audacity to think that they’re the center of the universe and everything else has to revolve around them is moronic at the least and delusional at best.
Thank you!!! I'm ashamed of some of the younger generations.
It is not that serious! Her hair is just blue. She’s a college graduate and clearly intelligent….your generation is overly sensitive and dramatic like your statement. That should be more embarrassing
@@christinatoliver statements, questions, the way one speaks, the way one holds oneself, the way one articulates oneself, all these things reflect the inner thoughts of a person. The audacity to think that the world has to revolve around her and change to suit her preference is idiotic and narcissistic.
Just like your reply, which suggested to me that you're an ignorant.
Thank you Steve for once again reminding us who the best generation is.
A simple question to her question: are you good enough at what you do to even break the rules and still succeed? She talking about no one takes her serious because of her hair. Focus on producing amazing results first, then i guarantee you people will start taking you serious. Trying to break the rules should be the last thing on your mind if you have no results yet.
I don't want to work with anyone who comes in saying the rules shouldn't apply to them.
Do as thou wilt

You've got to spend a lot of time, doing what you have to do, in order to one day, be able to do what you want to do
I vote for 80's millenials to be separated from 90's millenials cuz the expectations and life experiences are polar opposites 😕😒🙄🤦🏾♀️😩
We are separated from them. We are called xennials.
Me too. I like to refer to myself as an older or mature millennial cause I want to be absolutely sure i am lumped in with this foolishness
@@ShowtimeSynergy12 Ok! Ok! I'm wit it! 😅😅😅😅 Thx for letting me know so I can tell the others!
@@tigger12486 Yesssssss! We're the last ones who were outside for real! 😞
I second this. My sisters are 80s babies and I’m a 90s baby and we have totally different experiences.
She’s not a millennial! Us millennial graduated college over 10 years ago lol. We doing the hiring.
Lmao exactly
I know a millennial age 39 who just finished nursing school.
Some people start late
At what point are people going to realise that this is not a recent episode?? 😅
This show aired between 2012 and ended in 2017. It no longer airs.
The episode is from 10yrs ago.
@@sensimania that’s not true. 1st air in 2017 ended in 2019. Most millennial was still well out of college by then
@@red515ify So you assume that this episode is from 2019 just because the last episode (apparently) aired that year?! Would it not be more logical to assume that the episode aired around the time when most millennials were typically graduating, since at 0:21 she said that she's a millenial and she's about to be graduating?!
Sounds like someone needs to go back to college to learn about assumptions, fact-finding, and logic.
You ain’t going to be working 😂😂😂😂
I guess I really got lucky because I interviewed for a supervisor position for the City, I had dark blue hair. Changed positions within the company, (had to interview for it) with a green pixie. This year makes 17yrs.
You probably didn't go in thinking you were the whipped cream on the diet iced latte mocha pumpkin swirl.
😂😂😂😂😂The level of entitlement is ridiculous😂😂😂😂😂
I am in my mid 40s now. In the late '90s, we dyed our hair and made styles to say that we will not conform to the societal norms. Now however, with the over abundance of narcissism as a commonality. Those who dye their hair now demand that's society (and all those in it) conforms to them and demand that this becomes the norm.
The last two generations have no clue that sacrifices are needed to become successful.
Steve talking about waking his babies up killed me😂
I wouldnt have a problem hiring someone with blue hair, but I would have problems hiring someone with that mindset "I am a millennial and you don't understand me and you should change"
That’s a good point. If she instead said something like “Blue is my favorite color. I feel it compliments my personal style and brings me joy.” That might not be a deal breaker depending on the particular corporate sector she’s interested in-this would probably be fine for many of us millennials hiring now BUT agreed, not with that attitude. 😅😂😮💨
She’s not conforming to corporate m, she needs to conform to what will make her successful. She needs to think outside the box, outside her sandbox. At least she’s not angry with an attitude. She will be successful if she listens to Uncle Steve! Good luck to you young woman!
She isn't a millennial!!!!
Millennials: I want to be different like everybody else.
As a non-American I’d like to let you know that this problem doesn’t exist outside of the states, at least not to this extent
I am Gen X. We did all this sort of thing too when we were young. Millennials did not create any of this. However, we understood that they were going to be people older than us, interviewing us and having certain expectations of us. Many of us conformed enough to get work, or we created the work for ourselves. If this young lady does not have investors or capital to start her own firm, then she may want to use her natural appearance to work and wear a blue wig on the weekends to express herself.
Do you remember the times we heard about Punkers dropping aspirin in coca cola and wearing diaper pins in their faces?
Loved that idea for her! Entrepreneurial blue vibes! Go girl!
I hate my generations thought process…. I swear i came from the last class of “sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me “. So disappointing to hear about the kids where I’m from nowadays, so entitled to everything and everything.
You ain’t finna be working 😂😂😂
His faces says it all!!😂
Love this! Steve is the BEST! He’s always my go to when needing advice ❤
That's scary
You must be single !!
@@christopherclyde7791 Nope! Married over 30 years! It’s my go to to help single people when we converse lol
@@tinacurlyq naah .. you single
@tinacurlyq Steve Harveyvis not even married for 13 years much less 30 years... but you taking advice from him.. If you're really married for over 30 years, you shouldn't have to take advice from him to relay to single people. You can do it much better.
Being a mom is a very difficult job... if you don't discipline your children, if you let them think that they run the show, and simply because they are children they do not have to obey any limits.
It is, indeed difficult as long as they are small and very needy, it is atrocious when they are 2-3 because that is when they try to assert their will and if you do not make them understand THEN that the parents are running the show, things will get uglier and uglier down the line.
Love Steve he speaks with common sense 👏 👍!
In marketing, IF she was good at it, she would see that you only have 30 seconds or so to effect the buyer. No time to change the people to simply change for YOU. If she cannot see that, she will not be hired
As a millennial who also loves to color my hair, I can tell her right now she aint getting that job😂
I am a millenial who has worn almost every color on my head but a rainbow itself. It depends on the field/profession you are looking to pursue.
2:20 The first young lady needs to apply for marketing jobs at the hair coloring companies that she buys from.
the hair is perfectly fine but you better be prepared for the interview and the job.
tell them you know your hair is not usual but you will be extra prepared do an excellent job for the company.
questioning if a company should conform to you is the problem. it's your job with your expertise and drive to make them accept you.
I’m millennial but I don’t wear clown apparel. It’s not complicated
She should dye her face blue and I might take her more seriously 😄 🤣 😂 😆
Never watched this show before because I grew up watching cartoons/movies way more than talk shows. But man, those were some very wholesome answers and now I see the appeal. Kudos to wise Uncle Steve!
Very wise words, gotta spend a lot of time doing what you have to do to get to spend time doing what you want to do.
If a man is really done with a relationship he will do whatever it takes to get away from that woman! Yeah she need to wait and see what’s going to happen in Feb. As a matter of fact if she really wants to know if the relationship is over just go over his house and asked the ex, bc if they truly not together you will know then!!
The fact that she thinks it's an option that anyone has to conform to her is what's wrong with this generation
I'm a millenial. This girl is pure Gen Z 😂😂😂
I totally understand that I had twins at 20 and I had one on my back one in my hand rocking allllll night. It’s a beautiful thing through
Her best bet is entrepreneurship. Corporate America is a game and the fastest way to lose is by trying to stand out in an unconventional way.
Apply to marketing jobs at unique companies that support “freedom of hair expression”. Be prepared to have less options. Work as a barista or do something else in a creative field while your look for your dream job because it could take 3 to 20 times as long to locate this kind of company. Don’t complain or say it’s not fairvwhile you wait because you chose this path for yourself.
Brilliant!
Sometimes it's better to be alone, No one will hurt you.
I have a coworker in her 60’s with light purple hair and our boss is flexible. If you don’t have to work with customers, it’s easier. I don’t think she started with the interview with that hair but there’s a strict no discrimination rule in some places now.
Except corporate America has started to conform to the current lunacy, unfortunately.
Just draw unemployment for life
Steve is the best guy on TV or YT !!!!!!!!!!!!!
IF they listen to Steve.....they will be FAR better off !
Want to “go corporate?” You have to play the “corporate” game. “They” aren’t going to conform to the ideals of anybody they’re cutting a paycheck to…
I’ve seen many people around me living under the same roof with their exes which is crazy!
Their logic behind was because it wasn’t convenient to rent a full apartment. So, they had to pay twice the amount or they still had a few months until the end of their contract and wanted to take the advantage of it.
Hello pretty lady.. how you doing today
she can keep her blue hair and start her own business.
Instead of giving money to the poor let me Spend more money on my Privileged Self!
Good answer for the blue hair girl.
She just wants some attention 🙄 BLAH
That man thought raising kids was easy 🤭
You can see a goof a mile away,
Thanks for the
Confirmation again.
She isn't a millennial she is Gen Z. Millennials have been out of undergrad for 6 years. We DO NOT does this crap.
It really depends on if the firm is okay with it. And what you can bring to the table.
She wants to be in marketing but does not understand how to market herself.
He just told her build a business and discriminate in the hiring process and everyone clapped. lol
You are allowed to discriminate based on hair color. I'm retired now, but I hired dozens of people over the years and exactly none had blue hair. Of course no blue hairs (or several other demographics) ever applied for a job because we were doing hard work.
He said start your own business.
She'll be working at McDonald's flipping burgers soon!
2 Months isn't long enough? By the time you find out a girl you're interestrested in broke up, she's got herself a new bf. Happened at school, happens at work. "We drifted apart and finally decided to call it quits." That's not the Red Flag.... them living together? Yup.
Mam sit down 🤦🏾♀️
I agree she should wait until the end of feb (last case), to see where he is at. Ive known a lot of couples that the romance was dead long before they were officially broke up so the 1 month per 1 year rule doesn't actually apply 1 to 1.
No.. She just doesn't care. No boundaries. Completely Clueless 😢
I work at a Defense Contractor. The place is overflowing with all kinds of different hair colors (not to mention pronouns). However they do tend to be lower paid positions. But facts are we need bodies and HR understands that Gen Z is built different. I don't get it ... but I don't have to get it if I want that paycheck.
Expecting society to conform to you is the wrong way to go about it. Most people are stuck in their ways and you won't change them. Conform enough to society so you can get and keep a job. And like Steve said once you make it then you can start to change things up a bit but in the mean time you won't get a job with blue hair.
Notice the difference on the questions between the man and the woman. Her question was more about feelings and what society owes her. The man wanted an answer to a pragmatic question that impacts not just him but ppl he cares for.
You think this level of entitlement is ridiculous? Then you will be absolutely fuming when you see what Gen Z does.
You're exactly right, gen z is a trip and I know because I have one.
Lmao 100%. Parents thought we were bad. Well my nieces and nephews are of age now and they’re no where near ready!
Katt William is LOL at steve harvey advice LOL
As a Gen-Xer who is permanently disabled because of MS, I can't go out there in the work force ever again. I am politically Conservative, but I have blue hair. That means after 25 years of working jobs, being on time, staying late, doing whatever my boss told me to do, the government agreed to the contract I signed and now they pay me according to the contract for 25 years of work. Therefore, if anyone should be allowed to "freely express" themselves, it should be me and people like me.
They are claiming something they never invented, but we did something they never want to do. That is actually find a job and go work at it.
its the client perspective of the company you are working for. Blue hair probably is a red flag in most clients.
She's not even a millennial, she just graduated college. She's GenZ
She is a millennial, this ep was from 2013. You'll talk as if everyone in your generation was responsible. And even if it was a recent episode some people start some things in life late
How does she not even realize that she's conforming to the ideals of her own group of peers. We all have to conform, when we are actual adults, to different places. Attorneys need to wear suits, high-end restaurants generally have a dress code etc. Nurses wear scrubs and Dr's generally wear a white coat, imagine not being able to differentiate medical professionals from everyone else in a hospital! Or the confusion that it would cause in an emergency situation if you couldn't tell police or firefighters apart from citizens or criminals-etc etc etc
The faces in the background always tell a story.
Work isnt about what you wanna do, its about doing what you have to do
Want a job? Conform or no job. It’s that simple. Follow or get out.
Or, if she's expressing herself, why can't everyone else in corporate America express themselves? Maybe the way I express myself is by NOT coloring my hair? I think, at this point, if you get tripped up by blue hair, you're missing it, especially in marketing. Why wouldn't you want someone who could appeal to a certain demographic?
I'm in my mid-50's and I'll tell you what I saw in her: a cheerful young lady who makes an effort to look nice and who communicates charismatically.
BASED!!!
She's Gen Z, not Millennial.
I’m fuming over the ridiculous questions these women are publicly shaming themselves to ask!!! Firstly, if he was with a woman for 7 years and he is living with her because of rent, that’s bull but aside from that, the sheer fact that after 7 years this guy would disrespect his ex and the history they shared by dating another woman in her face speaks volumes about his character and his views on women. The end. Wtf is happening!?!
She might as well be working for the Smirfs. 💀
Entitled girl: So should I conform to the company, or should the company conform to me?
Me: That depends. Do you expect them to pay you, or are you somehow going to pay them? 😂
Blue hair = TRAIN WRECK
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤yo azz ain't going to be working😅
Stee is right.
In the question is the answer: "should she conform to corporate America or corporate America should conform to her?" Why would someone hire a person that thinks has the right to a whole structure align to her?
Also, what are her motives to dye her hair blue? She said "brake the boundaries", an interviewer will spend half the time of the interview wondering if that intention is in a constructive and innovative way or in an anarchist way.
That's an employee problem waiting to happen right there
The problem with piercings, tattoos, blue hair is that they project the person wants to rebel against the norm and the majority, so it makes you wonder if they'll have that attitude in other subjects besides their bodies, and in a harmful way
Then create your own job luna!
McDonald's corporation will hire her as the next female Ronald Mcdonald
If blue hair is what sent them over I don't wanna be working for you! Plenty of jobs out there! Her hair is beautiful anyways
Blue hair girl will find out pretty fast if corporate companies will conform to her millennial standards ha! 😂
So here is a bs argument. "Put yourself aside until later, " no. You will never experiment later when you're comfortable. All those brilliant ideas will die
