Hi Louise. I became aware of this video through Andrew. These are sounding towers that were once used by the Spanish fleet for deck soundings during military exercises. I always call them obelisks because they remind you of them first 😉
Ah brilliant! Thanks so much for enlightening us about the ‘obelisks’. That’s so interesting! I will pin this comment so that it will be seen by everyone watching 🤗
That was an epic walk. Alcúdia beach is my favourite with it being nice and shallow. Unfortunately I wasn't well when I was there in may & didn't go on the beach beach so it's lovely to see it again. 😊
So true Faith!! Out of my two weeks there, this was the only cloudy, breezy morning. I was so pleased as it happened on exactly the day when I was free to film the video.
Great video Louise! Beginning of the video is definitely a great time of day to get a sunbed ;). Also this walk has such stunning views, even on on a cloudy day.
Oh Louise you never fail to put a smile on my face😂. They should prescribe you at the Doctors for depression. Just watching you getting all flustered due to the wind and then getting all the pronunciations wrong and with your constant giggles you are a joy👍😂. Also I finally did the Cawsand to Cremyll walk today and it was amazing I would like to thank you for showing it as it was on my door step and I never knew of it....keep up the good work you are a star😁👍
🤣 You always put a smile on my face with your comments too! It’s always a pleasure to read them! Oh nice!!! So pleased you got to do that walk! It is a really lovely one. It’s really nice to know that my exploring of the South West inspires other people to get out and see and explore it too.
@@SouthWestSundays well then Louise I am going to have to really put some serious effort into these comments from now on. I have got to help maintain that smile on your extremely happy face😁👍. I am working on my Sunday comment as I write this, the pressure is on😂👍
Awww so lovely to watch this Louise. I wish we were still there together! We didn't make it up to Muro so thank you for taking us on your beach walk! 😊
Those towers were really interesting and fascinating! The first one is definitely like the one in Somerset. I loved seeing the canals too - lots of little piers dotted around which means you can walk out into the sea. That's good that you can get a ferry from there to Barcelona - I wonder how long it takes? A lovely chilled out video - that was quite a long walk too - I always find walking on sand more tiring than walking on soil. Great video! Hope you have a good week. Take care, Paul
Thank you Paul. I believe that the average sailing time between the two is about five and a half hours. It was such a lovely and refreshing walk with the water over my feet most of the way on mostly firm sand. I thought you may enjoy seeing the canals!

Hello Louise. That beach really does go on for ever. Unfortunately, it's all much the same, cafés, restaurants and sun loungers. What was that pointed hill we saw early in your walk? It looked almost man made, reminded me of a spoil heap. I still prefer you back in the UK. Take care x

It is so shallow there! Sorry you were unwell when you were there and really pleased that you enjoyed seeing it on here 🤗
That was a great walk, you would have struggled to do it in the heat of the day a few days before that. The wind really whipped up at points.

Ooo.. I must look into what that pointy hill is. Thank you for watching and I am excited to bring lots more South West UK content soon. 🤗
Those obelisks were apparently for submarine training and naval navigation exercises many many years ago
Thank you Tommy!! That’s really interesting to know. 🤗
