What A Great Video, I was A Mackinac for some forty years on cars and Outboard Motors Johnson and Evinrude now am 80 years old in a wheelchair so your video,s brings back a lot of good memberys thank you very much!!!
The International Harvester Super A was a work horse in its day. I raked many acres of hay with the Super A, pulling hay wagons and it worked well connected to the milking vacuum system when thunderstorms knocked out the power. A neighboring farmer bailed his hay with his Super A. Your video brings back old memories working on my uncles farm.
You can center your implement up on your drawbar. The pto driveshaft can be at an angle with no problem. That is what the u-joints are designed for. This video really made me smile to see. I love those old tractors and to see one back in use is great.
That little tractor is a keeper, sounds like she loves to run and is in beautiful shape for a nearly 70 year old machine, much better condition than my 68 year old body. Your girlfriend's face when she first drove it was priceless, she's a keeper too!
This actually makes my heart happy. You guys are such an amazing couple. That smile on her face as she was driving that around can never be replicated. Good job. Ps, always glad to see you guys on here.
Great find and a great video! You may want to check the left and right differentials as they probably have to be drained separately. You have a lot of great knowledge regarding that tractor! Keep em coming!
Kudos to Victoria! She did extremely well for her first time! That’s a sweet tractor. I’m impressed how straight and in good shape it is for it’s age! Thanks for sharing.
Good vid and good memories. I drove a similar (Cub) for my grandpa about 65 years ago. No hydraulics but a sweet little tractor. Great experience for a rural kid.
great video guys enjoyed watching nice old tractor I have a 1953 super A also was my Dad's he got it 57 have a back mower and two sod plow for it haven't had it running for a couple years it's always stored in side needs new tires and the gas tank cleaned used it in the woods a couple years ago have to crank it to start usually one flip and it starts good job getting it going and changing the fuilds nice old tractor and I also liked the cabover freightliner sitting in the yard was truck driver for almost 50 years thanks for sharing take care enjoyed watching
It's called a Belly Mower on the Massy. FYI... The Super A side seat was designed to cultivate and allow the operator to look directly at the dirting sweeps. You could do a lot to clean a grassy crop with that rig. Even today, it works great for small food plots that you want to farm without herbicides. You might ask if there is a cultivator out the weeds somewhere that goes with it.
Nice job! Pretty cool to see how happy Victoria was! You may not want to fill it right up to the spreading tines to give the PTO a chance to start and let the conveyor feed it in.
Those Little A Farmalls are handy and durable tractors. We have three of the Farmall A's in the collection. Two are regular A's and both have busted blocks from rain getting in the exhaust and freezing. The third is a super A like yours. It has a 59 inch woods belly mower. And I swapped the engine. It now has a engine from a 200 that has a M&W increased bore sleeve and piston kit. Plenty of power. We used to haul with a 66 ford F600 with a dovetail and a 40,000 pound PTO winch. However insurance began to cost more than we wanted to pay. So we now use a tilt top trailer. I just subscribed.
Nice looking tires on the rear, she got 50% of tractor stuff nice he knows how to get more out of his tractor 🚜, lolol and Victoria did an amazing beautiful job, thanks BigAl California
Get them both!!! I would have poured a couple gallons of diesel through the top of the engine to dilute some of that sludge. First put half and half diesel and oil and run it a little. Won't hurt anything. Then drain and refill with good oil. That is a good straight tractor. The tires are worth half the value of the tractor. Few odds and ends and some tlc and it will be a good tractor for Victoria...
That is so cool. I learned how to drive one of those in 1966 when I was 5 yrs old on my grandparents farm. I pulled the hay wagon when my grandparents loaded it. My other grandfather had a 130 which was supposed to be the commercial version. That brings back memories. When I was 6, I wrapped one into a tree discing our yard. Bent the tie rod. Dad then taught me how to use the turning brakes.
What a fun video! I love how you will just jump right in and start fixing anything, your skill shows and I am always confident you’re going to get it going. I think your GF is a keeper. When two people can enjoy each other and the daily activities you all do it makes for a good match. Peace
Yes sir I so enjoy seeing older equipment come to life and go back to doing what they was built for. And I'm right proud of Miss Victoria also she done a fine job. She looked all proud up on that tractor. Good luck to both of you
Nice tractor 20 years ago I used to have a formal M good old tractor always start sold it because I didn’t have no use for it but we’re in the process of moving again and I’ll be getting another tractor 🤣
this vid just came on my home feed, saw the CT plate and then the girl all about the tractor and said to myself gotta be from Durham, sure enough i was right lol, greetings from North Branford
I love to see tractor restorations, at least restored enough to run and have new life. Let's see, I was born in '51 and I'm 72 so your tractor is 70 years old. Cheers from eastern TN
Update May 2023: I have purchased a manure spreader, almost similar as yours, bit larger but still a fairly common one over here. Works like a charm! :D I got it BECAUSE OF YOU! :D. Thank you so much for the inspiration. I hope you'll have many good runs with this adoring Super A.
I like Victorias style.. ""Fill it up all the way and then off in 4th Gear" That's something we must see.. Well done guys, it's great to see these old timers back at work.
The owner is right/ 50%. Those tractors are fantastic. I pulled a Farmall Cub out of the woods and got it running years back. I learned all about tractors and Farmall and being a mechanic, told my wife “ I’m going to get it running “! She said “I’ll bet you will “, long story…. 3 tractors and everyone calls me Tractor Dave! There addicting, Note: I do own 18 acres of woods. The are awesome to use.
First gear and let the Ole girl sing. Them small pull behinds need all the rpms you can throw at it to spread good. Love the setup though. Can't beat a old farmall.
Great job bringing that old girl back to life! Don't forget to service the spreader too! Grease it and buy some spray chain lube for the chain! When you are done using it for the season, power wash it off really good, and grease and lube the chain before you store it! Save you a lot of grief next spring!
Really nicely done! Could tell you wanted to surprise Victoria with the tractor running as you did right on the truck at the house before driving it down the ramps, thanks for the great video!
They only lie when it need to get out of his way in his shop , lol nice love this vlog thanks I can’t wait till you get her on camera on her tractor, nice thanks BigAl California
Sweet find - congratulations- i have completely restored 2 old farmalls - 1 a 130 and other same as yours a super A- bit of advice- change the oil in the final drives - What i do with mine is when i am done using it and it’s going to sit for several months- I turn the engine by hand (fan blades) and set the points so they are opened- i have found the corrode if left closed- to do it- park it- shut off fuel- put in neutral - turn ignition on- Grab fan blade and very slowly turn engine until Amp meter goes back to the middle & turn ignition back off-( Batt. not discharging from points being closed) - and when it’s time to fire it up- turn fuel and ignition on and 1/2 choke and start her up-
Persistence pays off. Flush the gas tank. Tribute to the family members that maintained that beauty. They knew how to treat their equipment. Keep it going. Head mounted go pro would help your filming.
I would love to have one of these but I do not have a piece of ground upon which to use it. Great job! Those old tractors are practically bullet proof. My Great Uncle had a Farmall M and an H model.
I love your Lady's joy in her new tractor. You may find STP oil treatment may help. As a kid I heard it speed up the idle of a very worn old Ford tractor. The idle speed went up as it was poured in. An Engine rebuilder friend of my dad said he could tell if STP had been used in an engine. STP engines would have oil in the top end, ready when started. Your Pony seems like the farmall cub, one size smaller than the Farmall A tractor. I miss my time on my grandparents' farms. Those visits saved my sanity away from my alcoholic home. I hope to see much more of this tractor and perhaps the other one from the same shed. I believe that is a non syncromesh transmission, so some gear grinding is natural. This is my first time on your channel and I hope to see much more May God bless and comfort you both.
Yeah my dad worked I ate and made parts after that year and stuff for him tractors all that yeah I remember my day used to talk about making parts for all kind of ice tractors thank you any work in Springfield Ohio
Nice tractor, be careful using it with a lot of weight hooked on it. The actual drawbar is not on the tractor. It is connected to a bar that goes between the final drives in front. Those tractors had a habit of cracking the rear housings. The bar helps prevent that. The actual drawbar is attached to the bar and swings on what you are using as the drawbar. I hope you can find and install that. I love the video and seeing your lady so happy!
Good idea on flushing and changing fluids. You will need to do the same with the final drives as well. It is separate from the trans fluid. Also, your clutch needs adjustment or possible replacement. The first adjustment to check is down by the pedal fulcrum. Then look into the bell housing from under the tractor to check the clutch pressure plate. It is adjustable as well A&I sells a cheap manual that will tell you all you need to know. Have fun!
This is a great video and made me smile a lot. I loved seeing your girlfriend so happy driving that thing, and she sure learns fast if this was the first time driving a manual transmission on a tractor. Thanks for the fun.
Fantastic job Mike! 🙂👍 Nice to see it run without much headache. Always handy to have a small tractor with a PTO around. Take care and happy wrenching 🔧🔩
Love the As and Super As. If you haven't found it yet the transmission oil check plug is on the left side of the tractor by the brake rod, the plug is 7/16 should be fairly easy to find.
Do you remember what I told you ?? , if you need to check for water that can’t be seen by the naked eye , you get some of the oil in question, and pot it on some thin metal and hold it I’d fire 🔥, If it has water in it it will steam out , and it will sound like bacon 🥓 friying, lol nic3 remember that now , thanks BigAl California.
Fantastic! I am a new subscriber and I just found your channel. I really love the way you document everything you do. You guys are a real class act!! I have a Marvel Scheibler carb sitting on my bench right now for my Oliver 550.
Cool video! Be sure to check the fluid level in the steering gear! There is a plug on the top right side next to the radiator. Be sure that the little breather hole is open in the plug, or drill one in the side if it’s been replaced. A lot of people paint over the hole not knowing. Also, don’t be surprised if nothing comes out when you drained it, because they filled it full of grease instead of 90w oil, due to a bad seal underneath! Ask me how I know! 😂
Suggest you do a soak carburetor with kit, take gas tank of and steam clean. Change to 12 volt alternator, change to 12 volt coil, same starter, go to negative ground. Complete new electrical wiring, new switches. Flush cooling system, check condition of transmission, rear end lube. You might try putting on a swinging drawbar. Next up,have her load it by hand with a fork/scoop, so that she really appreciates the loader.
Always great to see old iron getting saved!!
Ah the revival guy!
What A Great Video,
I was A Mackinac for some forty years on cars and Outboard Motors Johnson and Evinrude now am 80 years old in a wheelchair so your video,s brings back a lot of good memberys thank you very much!!!

great video, espacially the patience you show teaching how a lady should drive an old tractor like that. great job!!!!
Fantastic video..thank you!!!!!
Thanks for saving the old girl. Victoria is a natural, not everybody watches back at the implement at first.
This actually makes my heart happy. You guys are such an amazing couple. That smile on her face as she was driving that around can never be replicated. Good job. Ps, always glad to see you guys on here.
yup i had the same big smile when i got to drive my old cub cadet for the first time.
Great find and a great video! You may want to check the left and right differentials as they probably have to be drained separately. You have a lot of great knowledge regarding that tractor! Keep em coming!

Definitely need to check both final drive boxes ,, I think those are chains in old CORNBINDERS ,,,
Nice job! Pretty cool to see how happy Victoria was!

I work at a Tractor dealer in NY and I still see customers bringing farmall"s in for service! Love the vintage stuff!
She was so pleased with herself. Would make a real man proud. Great tractor to, love it. One day I will have a project one of my own.

Nice set up can't beat them little tractors there good for a lot of things on the farm
Well done getting her up and running and your daughter looks like a professional tractor driver
Yes sir I so enjoy seeing older equipment come to life and go back to doing what they was built for. And I'm right proud of Miss Victoria also she done a fine job. She looked all proud up on that tractor. Good luck to both of you

Nice rescue .... BRAVO ! Respect to Victoria for jumping on that old beast and running it like a pro.
Awesome video man thanks for spending the time making it!, awesome to see somebody learning how to drive these old machines
she is going too have fun with that. that smile says it all.
First gear and let the Ole girl sing. Them small pull behinds need all the rpms you can throw at it to spread good. Love the setup though. Can't beat a old farmall.
of course you know that the only piece of equipment a farm implement dealer won't stand behind is his manure spreader
Enjoyed every minute! Nice patient informational.
Awesome,my dad had a 1964 super A it had the one point hitch on it. That video brings back some good memories.thanks
They stopped production of Super A's in the early 50's and replaced them with the 100. The only IH offsets produced in the 60's were 140's and Cubs.
That looks like a great purchase. Somebody kept good care of that tractor. she should be proud of herself.
Great job bringing that old girl back to life! Don't forget to service the spreader too! Grease it and buy some spray chain lube for the chain! When you are done using it for the season, power wash it off really good, and grease and lube the chain before you store it! Save you a lot of grief next spring!
Thanks for the movie you guys make a good couple good luck with your projects
Nice job! That is a sweet tractor.
She's beautiful. Good looking tractor, too.
What a beautiful little tractor. You can tell it's 50's, got an almost steam punk look about it.
Really nicely done! Could tell you wanted to surprise Victoria with the tractor running as you did right on the truck at the house before driving it down the ramps, thanks for the great video!
That's a fun little tractor specially in the snow,
Every body should have a Lady like this in their lives
They only lie when it need to get out of his way in his shop , lol nice love this vlog thanks I can’t wait till you get her on camera on her tractor, nice thanks BigAl California
Sweet find - congratulations-
i have completely restored 2 old farmalls - 1 a 130 and other same as yours a super A- bit of advice-
change the oil in the final drives -
What i do with mine is when i am done using it and it’s going to sit for several months- I turn the engine by hand (fan blades) and set the points so they are opened- i have found the corrode if left closed-
to do it- park it- shut off fuel-
put in neutral - turn ignition on-
Grab fan blade and very slowly turn engine until Amp meter goes back to the middle & turn ignition back off-( Batt. not discharging from points being closed) - and when it’s time to fire it up- turn fuel and ignition on and 1/2 choke and start her up-
Really nice video. Good work, and happy to see the two of you enjoying life
Looks good, those tractors are infinately rebuild able/serviceable. truly built like a tank.
Persistence pays off. Flush the gas tank. Tribute to the family members that maintained that beauty. They knew how to treat their equipment. Keep it going. Head mounted go pro would help your filming.
The little knob on top of the oil filter is going to need to be cut off , nice sound good I love the sound of the ol IHC tractors good job 👏 thanks b
hi there looks good nice john
You got lucky with that oil filter o ring coming out that easy. I've had to sit there with a pick and chisel out bits of o ring at a time
Just found your chanel. That little tractor looks great for the age.from seeing plugs not using oil.great find.
That was good, you and Victoria did a great job......................
I would love to have one of these but I do not have a piece of ground upon which to use it. Great job! Those old tractors are practically bullet proof. My Great Uncle had a Farmall M and an H model.
Those are great little tractors. Great video!!
Those front tires are wonderful for farm work. Just if they go down in a couple days pump green slime into them before you drive it around.
Also, check with Case dealer to update fuel cap. It's free. Take your serial number. Those old ones leak.
Awesome!! Beautiful tractor!! She done good!!
Loved the vid Mike, thankyou...................the v8 in ya truck is nice sound too

She'll be doing donuts in that tractor in no time :)
That's a good straight tractor. I still cut my grass with a 1940 Farmall A
Awesome bro and great video too. Safe travels
Yeah my dad worked I ate and made parts after that year and stuff for him tractors all that yeah I remember my day used to talk about making parts for all kind of ice tractors thank you any work in Springfield Ohio

Good job you’re driving that tractor with the Brewers brother at it you did a OK job
30wt nondetergent oil, non-etheinol gas and don't let anyone tell you it won't make any differance.
Nice paint job ur have a sweet tractor guys 👍
That is a good looking tractor!
What an enjoyable video. I learned some stuff too. Thanks.
Super a is a good tractor, got to work on ours. Wish the back tires looked that good on our super A.

This is a great video and made me smile a lot. I loved seeing your girlfriend so happy driving that thing, and she sure learns fast if this was the first time driving a manual transmission on a tractor. Thanks for the fun.
Happy to see yall enjoying it
The smile on her face is priceless.
Great find
Nice work the best story you have done loved every minute thanks 😊

Like them tractors Good content just subscribed looking forward to more
She's great and the tractor ain't bad.
Nice tractor, runs good !
Fantastic! I am a new subscriber and I just found your channel. I really love the way you document everything you do. You guys are a real class act!! I have a Marvel Scheibler carb sitting on my bench right now for my Oliver 550.
What a great little tractor, I really enjoyed this video. I hope it serves Victoria well, she's off to a good start!
Awesome video loved every minute
another great clip keep them coming
Cool video! Be sure to check the fluid level in the steering gear! There is a plug on the top right side next to the radiator.
