This is an awesome toy, I have 2 in my house, 1 for me and 1 for my mom. She cried when I gave it to her, the at at is her favorite Star Wars vehicle and when she was younger she wanted one of these but was told she couldn’t because girls couldn’t like this stuff. She was so happy when I bought her one and restored it piece by piece hunting for parts off eBay
Just gorgeous. I have the toy and the Empire box that you show having received it for Christmas 1981. It was one of toys I found early and had to wait a few weeks to pretend I was surprised when it was given to me. Fantastic video and it’s so nice to see the ones in your video because of the excellent condition. Thank you for these videos and thank you for your book which I also have.
Many thanks for your kind words, much appreciated! I’m so glad you like the videos & the book! Back in the days in France with had to wait spring 1984 to really see the AT AT on the shelves. A few were available in 1983 with an Empire Box (Palitoy packaging) but when you see it for the first time as kid, it’s just an amazing experience and souvenir!
Amazing videos. My obvious question is how do you have all of these vintage toys in such pristine condition?! Inserts, box, unpunched decals, etc. Absolutely incredible, such an amazing toy line during such an amazing era, thank you for the videos!
Thank you for your kind words! Rome wasn’t build in one day and what you see here is more than 35 years of collections. step by step I was able to create this collection and I'm glad I can share these videos with other fans and also with my book about Kenner toy line. this book is a good addition to the videos too. Have a nice weekend!
Great review. I think this is my favourite of all the Star Wars toys. I didn’t get this one but I did get the Power if the Force 2 Version. I also bought the Vintage Collection big AT-AT which recreated the Empire packaging.
James Whitehouse Thank you so much ! It is a wonderful work of engineering here and one the best toy ever made. I have so much fun as a kid with it. So much good souvenirs with the AT AT.
You're right, back in 1982 several vehicles were released with a bag of accessories like AT AT, Rebel Transport even Dagobah playset was released with what we call a Yoda back pack for Luke Bespin. You can consider those as overstock left from the survival kit offer in 1981 and also a good promotion to help sold AT AT over stock. In 1983 you can also found the AT AT with a Return of the Jedi packaging plus extra baggie as well. Notice that the amount of accessories are different compare to the Survival Kit offer and the regular one sold with the AT AT.
Hello Sir, I'm sure to understand what do you mean by Bell cover. AT AT's head got 6 detachable pieces (7 if counting light bold). Starting from the top you have: One Cockpit Hood, Two laser chin gun on the sides, Two movable transparent laser cannon underneath head and one light bold cover underneath head too. Let me know if you are looking for one of these item. Take care !
Hello, 3 large vehicles were created for the Star Wars Kenner toy line between 1978 to 1985. 1 for Star Wars (Millennium Falcon) 1 for The Empire Strikes Back (AT AT) and on for 1 Return of the Jedi (Imperial Shuttle). So the 1981 AT AT was the second largest vehicle into the Kenner Toy Line. Have a nice day.
@@doctoronishispsychosislab1474 Back in the days, I was lucky enough to get the Falcon and AT AT as well. Falcon came from Belgium as it was hardly available in France before the end of 1983 and AT AT shows up in spring 1984. So much fun souvenirs are connected with those toys.
I got one of these for Christmas around 1982 or 83 it was my favorite toy for many years.
It's a wonderful toy indeed! thanks for watching!

Wow! That's an awesome story you have here! Sure girls can get an AT-AT and I'm glad you both are happy to get one. Take Care !
Girls can like this stuff it's their opinion what to decide
@@ChroniqueVintageDoes the ATAT walk on its own too?
Great video
Thanks!

Thank you again! Personally, this is my favourite of all the Vintage Star Wars vehicles. It's the one I always dreamed of owning as a child.
It is the most sophisticated vehicle ever build by Kenner, I do love it too !

Awesome video on the 1981 AT-AT , one of my favorite toys of all Time , so much so that I never had the 81 version however I do own the 1997 version,

Wasn't the AtAt coming with a baggie full of accessories also?

Esto es una chulada de video¡¡¡
Muchas gracias por el cumplido y disculpe mi respuesta tardía.
Finally found one of these and wanted to figure out how to move the legs... Guess I just gotta be less careful, haha.
I'm happy for you you've got one. Take Care
Never knew it was to have the orange sticker on the front. Felt unnatural seeing that! Mine doesn’t have all of the stickers, understandably.
It was easy sticker to loose unfortunately but it looks very mean with it! It is a real master piece from Kenner.
Nice attempt at stop motion walking!
Hoping Phil Tippet will never see what I've done :) But it was fun to try . Thanks for watching!
Sooo coool!
Thank you so much for watching !
What was the piece after the cockpit hood? Bell cover? Where does it go?

It is true that the "complete set" of the AT AT is with a INT-4?
As far as I know, no mini rig were sold with the AT AT. You had some special offer weapons pack but no other vehicle. thank you for watching!
@@ChroniqueVintage Thanks. I believe that because there is a photo in the package of the INT-4; and shows it inside of the AT AT:

Chronique Vintage ok thanks
Any one know how much this cost back in the 80's?
Back in 1981, AT AT cost around $US 35. Same price as the Millennium Falcon and that was an expensive toy at the time.
@@ChroniqueVintage Thanks. Turns out i was a spoiled brat. i had both and an ATST amoung other stuff
