.. being a English Brit, I rarely agreed with Alex Salmond but I always listened when he spoke and he was without doubt an impressive political force that you simply had to respect. Todays politics is a desperately shallow place without him. Well said Mr Neil.

Pre independence referendum there was so much preparation work done from both sides it was an informed population that voted. Something that really wasn’t present at the Brexit referendum. Listening to the speeches in Westminster today, regardless of political stance, he knew how to separate that from the individual. When even political rivals, but friends, are tearing up kind of shows the true standard of the man!

Alex Salmond was given the impossible job to convince turkeys that Xmas was a good idea. No-one is going to buy or invest in a company that is losing £22.7 Billion per year, but despite the overwhelming odds against him, he absolutely gave it his best shot and so nearly succeeded!
I think he missed his true vocation which would have been in Sales or Law, as not many got the better of him in the debating chamber. He would no doubt have been disappointed in the demise of the SNP Government over the last 16 years which has consistently failed to deliver it's promises, whilst overspending and missing deadlines!
Independence is completely dead in the water and as a Scot that is a blessing. 2014 caused so many family rifts that I never want to see a repeat of that in my lifetime. I know a few who have gone to their graves having not repaired the damage and having never spoken again to mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters!
For better or worse the UK is definitely a much better product worldwide with NI, Wales, England & Scotland all bundled together. Lang may yer lum reek and to Alex Salmond, may you RIP!!

@@edwardcampbell7513No - Aberdeen. A coma is probably more comfortable. Leaders probably have to pretend to give a shit if you live in a coma. People notice if you're alive or dead if you're in a coma. Though, I guess right wing grifters like Neil would probably happily switch you off, if you're in a coma, just like they'd wipe out anyone else below £300k.
Independence is supported by the majority of young people, consistently. I might not live to see it, and I'm sure you won't, but it is coming. The only way I see it headed off is true federalism in the UK, but I don't think Westminster has the foresight or the balls..

No currency , no central bank , out of nato , out of the Eu , out of the UK ....no plan on a trade deal with the rest of the Uk. No £15 billion annual barnett block transfer from the Uk Gov . For a man as experienced as Andrew is it is sad that he has to read these words from a sheet and not glance at the camera once. And personally I don't think that all 10 of those women were wrong.
