Logitech 3D Pro vs. Thrustmaster TCA - Which Is right for you?

- Today, we're firing from the hip comparing a Logitech 3D Pro and the Thrusmaster TCA Side stick. Watch for a side by side comparison! They're good. I give the edge to the TCA Thrusmaster because it's way more versatile. But the Logitech I give the budget edge being 20 dollars lower at the 40 dollar price point.
Pertinent information :
The Logitech has a much lower price point, but isn't as versatile. It's got a decent range of motion but you can't hard disable the twist if you don't use it. It's basically right hand only. it's more made for fighter type games. It can work in other sims however with no sweat.
The Thrust master - It's the first Civilian Sim side stick to my knowledge. It's a great feel in both hands. It's modeled after the Airbus A320 side stick, and it's officially licensed by Airbus. There is a hard switch to lock the twist motion. Like the Logitech, it can fit in both sim types, but it's definitely a better fit for civilian planes than the 3D Pro.

I got totally confused at first when you referred to the Logitech being a Right handed stick but your view showed your left hand. Thanks for clearing that up. Good comparison. Wondering about the weight ‘feel’. I have the Logitech and it is quite stable on my desk due to its fairly heavy base. How does that compare with the Thrustmaster? Thank you.
The TCA, is pretty light in comparison, but that doesn't present much of an issue for airliner type use. Fighters, it may depending on the speed and force of input. However, they did built it in mind for set ups where you can secure it with screws in the base to mounting plates which the Logitech doesn't have, or at least mine doesn't.
@@ReiTsukinoVT Thank you for the reply.
ROFL!! I got confused if you were a lefty or not because of that weird inverted camera view. Thanks for the important info! It's great to see the TCA Airbus is ambidextrous. :)
but why was the camera inverted? Also the joysticks are pointing forward, so i think its not inverted.
Which is better in precision ?
Between these two, easily the TCA from Thrustmaster. It's got way higher DPI on the different axis'.
@@ReiTsukinoVT Logitech has only 10 bits precison (1024 x 1024 values),
Kinda like the Logitech a lot cause it has a lot of rests for the hand which prevents your hand from getting tired it also has more buttons but the thing that I like about the side stick is that the throttle on the side stick has a reverse thrust position
The TCA also has a rest, but it's more geared to Airbus style commercial. The Logitech was built more with fighter type in mind I think.
How do u use reverse thrust in Logitech?
You'll probably need to configure a button to toggle reverse thrust. Some have a button built in at the bottom of the axis for this function, like the Logitech Throttle Quads and Honeycomb Bravo. But the logitech and Thrustmaster Sidestick for sure don't. The only one I know of with reverse detents is the Thrustmaster Airbus throttles.
Is there anyway to hard mount the tm airbus stick?
They actually designed it with mounting in mind. It's on their site along side the stick and throttle.
if u play dcs or il2 Battles. and dont have track ir or vr to look around fast, the 3d extreme would be the better choice! and also u dont need that extra quadrant for throttle too!
Which one is best for war thunder?
While I haven't used mine in the flight side for WarThunder yet, based on specs i'd recommend the Thrustmaster TCA out of these two. But for mil-like sims i'd recommend checking out the Thrustmaster Warthog series. It's more tailor built to combat style controls.
I am so hesitating buying these or the thrustmaster 16000 for dcs
The 16000 is basically the same as the TCA in terms of components, the only difference is it's bound to one hand or the other (depending in you get a left or right hand version)
Do you use twist on the Sidestick, if so is it still holding up well? I'm thinking about getting this one but apparently a lot of people are having problems with the twist starting to fail after a very short time, at least on the t16000m but apparently this one is the same.
I personally don't as I have rudder pedals. But I do have to calibrate it from time to time to get rid of jitter in the axis assignments.
I have this sidestick and can unfortunately confirm the issue with the twist. It's more of an intermittent problem (for now), but the Z axis is definitely noisy. I believe its internals, specifically the pot that controls the twist, are the same as the T16000M.
Logitech for left hand !!!!!! ????? Where ?
The camera was reversed for the video, i can't remember the problem it was solving off hand. It's indeed a right hand stick. The TCA though is built for both left and right hand grips.
Where did you buy the left hand Extreme 3D Pro Joystick ?. I can only find for right hand. Thank you
At the time I did this video the camera was upside down. Its a standard right hand side stick. However the T1000 and TCA both have left hand options.
@@ReiTsukinoVT Thank you
that 3d pro is a left hand control Most are right hand
The video is mirrored, it's very much right handed.
Logitech all day for me ! It has a natural smooth resistance feeling !! People are buying thrustmaster because it is airbus but the plastic to plastic rubbing feeling is horrible !
To me the Airbus feels solid and no an issue with it's operation and I don't personally feel a plastic/plastic friction on mine. But it's advantage is being friendly to left and right hand grip where Logitech is easier on the wallet. So there's no wrong answer, it's mainly preference ^_^
I have the same feeling.Tried Logitech and got super surprised with its weight and stiffness. It feels so solid and real.Never tried TCA but I believe it will feel more of a toy than the Logitech. Is the difference in sensors so big?
I apologize for the late response, RUclipss terrible at notifications for me. But the TCA is way more precise and a lot less jitter versus my 3D pro while being comparable in the tension ^_^
Cant find any Hotas anywhere all sold out lol. I will give you $100 right now for it
Look for the TCA From Thrustmaster. A lot of places have it ^_^ Thats the one in this video with the airbus blue.
@@ReiTsukinoVT Yes sir I been looking all day, on their website it said it won't be available until next month. 😞
@@houstonb9646 I'd suggest checking out CPT Canada, he's got a few give aways coming up, I think one of them is the TCA.
@@ReiTsukinoVT Cool thanks bro, I went on ahead and preordered the officer pack. I will just get a cheap hotas in the meantime
@@houstonb9646 Overall the pack is probably the better deal financially speaking. Well worth the wait.
WOW
I like u, ur very cool person I subscribe to very cool person thank you very cool person
Thank you ^_^
Logitech left hand ??????????? Where shopping
I thought the same thing but then realized the keyboard is backwards shi that's a mirror image...
why is your video reversed? confusing
I think it turned mirroring on. It's been corrected since then.
