CORRECTION: For crops you don't even need to set a tap near them they autofill from the intake. I think there was a slight delay in the connection when I was placing them down. But you don't need a tap for crops. The crop plot just needs to be in the range of your intake
Thanks a lot , i was looking for a range extend mod on my server but i'll add your video on my discord instead :)
Ngl I’m gonna miss having all those pipelines and cables going all throughout my base, makes it look cooler to me for some reason, but this is much easier so im not that sad about it. Although I wish there’ll be an option where you can turn needing to build those pipelines and cables
Maybe someone will make a mod. For sure getting piping to an Indy cooker was always a pain. Some people love the struggle. I can see this reducing a lot of clutter
Now THIS is what I mean by straight to the point, helpful AND easily explained. Subscribed 🔥
I hate guides that waste my time too so I can never make them 😂
How? Stone irrigation pipes arent a thing in ark ascended, this is stupid.
I'm brand new to this game and have been having trouble finding videos like this one. Thank you. I see tons of Ark videos but all of them assume I've played all 100 previous versions of the game and have basic knowledge. I've been playing for a week and learning as I go. Having a great time with it. But quick, simple videos like this really help. I'll be reviewing your other videos.
Thanks Billy I’ve been doing a series that focus on new players but will also have tips for experienced players too
Thanks Crabby! I wondered if you could use mutliple to cover longer distances so thank you for the demonstration!
No problem!
Super simple guide and straightforward. Love it
😊
Im so glad they removed those terrible lines of pipes. It was such a pain honestly
They were ugly too!
New player here. I love dinosaurs and just seeing a game like this really made me intrigued by it. I also appreciate how you got straight to the point on how this can be done so thank you
Yup I like straight to the point information
Thank you! Straight to the point, explained well! Appreciated! Subbed!
@@cardenrow Very welcome
Great guide Crabby. Learned a lot! Haven’t had a chance to mess around with water yet.
I did a little on stream then went into full test mode
what a great guide, Thank you !
Very welcome
4 days... 4 FREAKING DAYS!!!!!! and you got my farm up and running in 4 min.
Sub earned!
Yes! So glad I could help!
Thanks a lot for this video. I was wondering how to get water to the base, which is further away from the water. And thanks to you, I do. Thanks
Very welcome
THANK YOU for the good and easy to follow guide, I’m new to ark and don’t have a lot of knowledge. Keep up the great work 🔥😁
Thanks Josh!
As a PVP player that is the base builder. This is a godsend. And ty for the easy vid.
A lot of pvp don’t seem to like it. Idk why they kiss the pipes this is so easy! What do you think of the electrical
I do enjoy the quality of life this change has brought. But there was something immersive about having to figure out and plan how you are going to lead pipes back to base. Being forced to do tricks such as building a basement in your house to hide the pipes and electrical wires. Or hide the wires in between wall pieces so they blend in made us get creative in our base designs. It was a limitation that challenged us to design bases that got around it. I do think the game is better off without it though. All those pipes and wires, especially with a large base caused excessive lag. And only needing 2 engrams (the intake and the reservoir) made your crafting menu less cluttered and also allowed you to use those engram points for other things. Same with the changes they made for structures. Instead of needing 4 separate engrams for a wall, window and it's door variants. You only need the wall now and can cycle through them when you go to place it down.
I 100% agree with you. I kinda miss the old challenges but at the end of the day all the engrams and giant laggy pipes were problematic especially pipes stuck in the ground you could not pick yo
@Crabbytron since they removed pipes all together does that mean that trick where you build a pipe grid and then connect a bunch of water tanks to it and then leave render to have the tanks slowly fill with water doesn't work anymore? You now need to have access to a water source that's actually on the map somewhere?
@@myself8354 Did you watch the video you just need an intake and tank and you can move water to your place
@Crabbytron yes I did, I was talking about situations where you are far away from a water source such as the red zone on aberration where its not very practical to build pipes all the way to your base. In situations like that you could build a bunch of water tanks and connect them to your bass via a pipe grid and then leave render and the water tanks will slowly fill with water to irrigate your base. But since they removed pipes from survival ascended I didn't know if that trick still works or not. That trick was very useful because you can have all your water tanks and pipes inside your base where they couldn't be attacked by players or wild creatures. Without it you now need to have a trail of water tanks leading to your base from a water source. Making it easier to cut off your water supply.
@@myself8354 how did the tanks fill up on abberation with no rain?
Thank you much. Been trying to figure out the new way to run water, since they removed pipes. The other couple of videos I found on the subject didn’t mention the arrow on the water tanks. I thought it was just the direction of the intake.
Much obliged.
Very welcome glad I could help
thanks this will help a lot. Too bad ark doesn't have instruction tell how to play.
There is no tutorial for sure
THANK YOU I have been losing my shit trying to figure out how to transport water to my base
It’s quite different but very simple now glad I could help
Thanks for this guide! :)
Very welcome
Excellent concise and quick. Love this type video!!!
Thanks 😊 I have a lot more just like it !
Thank you sooooo much for this! Quick and straight to the point. Subbed! :D

This was amazing! Thank you for getting straight to the point! New subscriber right here
Very welcome
LOVE THIS!! I was wondering so much about the pipes that people were mentioning but not clarifying!!😁👍
edit: Does putting the tap on the primitive cookpot actually feed water into it?!
I don’t think so I think you can just stick it on
@@Crabbytron Thanks Crabby! you're the best!!
Incredibly helpful! And thank you for being succinct!
Very welcome!
And i was wondering what these blue arrows on the tank were for. Thank's, that was really helpful. :D
Glad I could help!
You made my grind so much easier! No more running away from raptors just to get by the river
Yeah man water is super easy now!
Great “how to”. Thanks!!

Yay! No more crazy pipes running for a mile!

This vid helped me out so unbelievably much lol. Took me forever to get the materials (cementing paste) for the tanks though :(
So glad I could help 😊
thanks for the straight to the point explanation!
Very welcome
holy this saved me from a brain aneurysm thank you so much lol
Ha ha ha we don’t want that. Glad I could help
So if I have a water tank and a crop plot within the range of the tank I don't need a tap OR an intake pipe. Although an intake will fill the tank up quicker I guess
@@fletcherhemmise7236 you need and I take you don’t need the tank if the crop plot is close enough to the intake.
If it’s far you’ll need a tank to move the water closer to your base
very interesting how they changed the way you irrigate, great guide though really helpful
Thanks no more pipe mazes now !
Very helpful! I'm glad they simplified the water mechanics. Can you use water wells in The Island? Or only Scorched Earth?
No wells on the island
@@Crabbytron ah, wish they would change that! Thanks for the input!
Oh good I was hoping you could still build away from water. I was getting very concerned for when Scorched Earth came out if we'd all be forced to live around the oases.
This will be so much easier on scorched
I was wondering about this! Pipeless water and wireless electricity. Now I can build without making 100 pipes to get to my remote home.
Yup !
Thank you 💕🙌🏾
@@Ms.AshleyHoney very welcome
Can't say I like this new system it's going to make it harder to find the break when someone messes with your water system
For pvp I think if use use multiple tanks you have a lot of redundancy. Better to hide your base too instead of a giant snake of pipes
I really dislike this change 😂
Thanks for the guide, working on it right now.. gotta get some cementing paste now
It is different but I’m the long run I think it will be easier
@@Crabbytron I noticed it is not that bad now, the tanks can be quite far away from the initial irrigation pipe 👍 finally water on my cliffside 😂
@@k3x478 yup it’s actually pretty good and simple once you know
Ah that's useful though I will miss the pipe system, I'm gonna need some water tanks then, does it matter what kind?
Nope I’d go stone for over single player unless you are in a spicy area then metal
nice video, very concise! thanks 😄
Very welcome
Great vid. Really helpful.
Happy to help
Thanks for sharing !
New to game but seems the remooved things that made since
Yes and no. They made sense but also caused problems too
I think we found that we didn't need to have the water tap on the crop plots so It might have just taken the UI a sec to update.. great guide though Crabby.. The lads and I were wondering about how to do water away from the water source without pipes..
A couple of tanks and you should be golden…. I def needed a tap but will test it
@@Crabbytron I didn't put it together so can't be 100% sure. No taps over the top of them now though.. Large crop plots and metal intake if that makes a difference for your testing
Every thing I’ve seen says you don’t need taps
@@timbucktoo7547 oh I’ll test it tonight and pin a comment with correction of if needed
@@hobgobblin I tested and you guys are right see pinned comment.
I think I had a little delay on the filling
Thank you very much
You are welcome
Thank u soooooo much 😊😊😊
Very welcome
Good vid siski
Thanks 😊
what will we do on the scorched lands, everyone will be a village next to the oases because the water supply will no longer last.
Not sure how they are doing to do wells or rework them but you can still move water from a source inland
Very helpful. Thankyou
Very welcome
It does not seem to make a lot of sense that the intake pipe has a radius... that absolutely does not matter for the water tank. You were still far away from the limits of the irrigation area when the tank's blue arrow disappeared. That doesn't compute for me. What's the logic in that ?
I know I didn’t explain it in the video but it rank does have a range but I could still connect them when the two blue bubbles were far apart
That’s why the arrows made more sense
@@Crabbytron Hm, I see. It's kinda odd how it's designed tbh XD
The intake pipe radius is for any nearby items that can be directly irrigated. You don't need to place additional tanks if your base is already near water.
@@HuginMunin yup but you do if it’s far
Very helpful thank you! I was like how can I move all the water with no pipes!
It’s a lot easier now for sure 😊
thank you

well done

That’s awesome!
It’s pretty easy now 😊
I guess my game is bugged. I've never had a problem doing this before even on ASA but now my tanks won't irrigate even 5 ft. From a blue water Intake pipe of the same material. Idk
Very strange are you getting the large blue arrow when you place them down?
It's almost like I played the beta for Ark 2.. It was called
Ark Survival Evolved.
Isn’t ascended the beta for ark 2 cause ark 2 is still coming
I am playing on the Island and can't see any stone irrigation pipes or any irrigation pipes at all.
Check for intake pipe
hey what about beer barrels in a raft i cant make the thing work help
You’re trying to place an irrigation pipe on a raft?
Thank you for showing this Crabby. not so much to WC for doing this
Not a fan of pipeless water ?
Pipeless water is great. That i need to place X amount of water reservoar to get water to my base not so much.
@@BedRocker- It's much faster and easier to set up than pipes, and because it's area based, it's way more flexible with less hassle at the site of your base, which might need several individual water lines going in different directions. Now one tank services everything in any direction nearby.
For some reason my industrial cooker is powered and irrigated but it says 0/10000 🥲 any idea why ?
Is this in ASA ? If yes then I’m not sure is it clipped into any other structure. If it’s ASE it will only work when connected directly to an irrigation. Not water tanks etc
Is there any way I can irrigate my crops on a raft?
no sorry. I have not been able to do it. Your best bet is to use large crop plots and fill them with canteens and rely on rain to keep them filled.
I was so confused when I couldn't find connecting pipes
Me too!!!! Then I went to sciencing 😂
The greenhouses are looking ugly af. Idk what they were thinking when they made these you can't even use them as windows anymore
Yeah to be fair they look more like a real greenhouse but I agree they ugly now
Is there a way to get water without having an intake pipe? Like with rain and water containers?
Do the different water container tiers have different radii?
Oh good question I can test metal versus water tonight. I would always pick intake over rain due to consistency and when you get to Indy cooker or greenhouse level having one intake with a tank is more efficient than loads of tanks
@@Crabbytron That's fair. Just curious if it will work the same way for ASA. ASE had the option to gather condensation basically for water containers, which was enough to permanently irrigate crops, even if you couldn't run the industrial cooker. Useful if you built far away from water, which happens a lot on servers with really high player counts or officials where people excessively land claim.
How do I get water to a tree platform?
Use the tanks to get it near the tree the probably put one at the bottom of the tree ten your platform I have mine up a cliff so it works vertical as well as horizontal
how do you make the water jar
In your inventory you need crystal
@@Crabbytron +repp
i cant find the irrigation pipe even when searched for
@@RealBigmanGlaza look up intake I think they changed the name
why did they get rid of pipes??
My guess is clutter lag and too many engram points
What about a water well
I haven’t had the chance to set up water on scorched yet. I’m guessing the well works the same as an intake
Water in evolved is way better, just stick a vertical intake pipe into the ground anywhere and you'll have a supply, no need for long pipework these days or well/tanks everywhere
Evolved had a lot of pipes and you had to connect the intake with water. This is a lot simpler for sure 😅
@@Crabbytron it did and you still need to run pipes across crops, but like I said no more long assed pipes, but wireless water is great, just havin wells everywhere is a pain and soon it will be cryo fridges everywhere too
@@bakerboi1984 the distance for the wells is not too bad
Am i reading this right? 71K likes? Y'all better subscribe!!! Thanks for this Crabby, not me struggling not wanting to build right next to a river 😌
Much easier than an elaborate pipe network
I’m reading 76 maybe you need glasses 😅
@@Crabbytronnot youtube beeing drunk and all because my SC says definetly 71K. Wich you totally deserve. Another vid had the exact amount. And yes, waayyy better pipes!
@@horton200909 it doesn’t even have that many views 🤣
I can't find the stone irrigation pipe anywhere. Looked trough engrams. It's not there.
Look up intake
not a fan of this rework tbh, pipes are easier to hide than these big water tanks
Typically you do only need one or two tanks
Um. My intake exploded? How. Why. I have so many questions 😅
What what happened was it stone or metal ?
@@Crabbytron think it was a stone one? I don't remember lol. I just held down on it to check it's inventory and then boom, it exploded
@@___BenClarke___ did you accidentally destroy it? What map was this on
@@Crabbytron twas on the island map, I genuinely have no clue what happened to it. It just exploded, and almost killed me.
@@___BenClarke___ do you have pvp on?
This new stuff just seems lazy and crappy it’s not a quality of life upgrade the pipes where a real aspect of the game now wtf do we have 😢
I think a lot of pipes caused lag so hopefully this would help with that
@@Crabbytron nah bruh this new stuff is completely unrealistic.. One intake pipe with a tap connected to nothing
@@r.hughes5737 I think they should have made a water pump and well or something
