He only made it sound all dramatic and stuff for effect by taking a page off of old Japanese romantic ballads and the melodramatic terminology that they often use. So people can interpret it as an obsessive type romance tune if they want. 😉

He just sorta lets it slip alongside the fact that the "I'd rather die than say goodbye to you" bit just dawned on him both line and melody when he was returning home from buying yakisoba ingredients.
