Its funny how the USA doesn't teach about some of our wars in school. We only talk about the civil war, ww1,ww2, Korea, Vietnam, the gulf war, Afghanistan, Iraq and the war on terror.... we never talk about the Spanish war that led to the Philippine American war that that started in 1898 and ended in 1911. Or the fact that we were training Chinese opposition forces during the Mao revolution.....
This propaganda used to be played at the movie theaters before the main show. Very deceiving, the voice over makes it sound like the U.S. was involved for the sake of the natives, however, that was far from the truth, Bosch was good for D.R. but the U.S. saw him as a threat, he was elected after Trujillo's assassination, keyword: "elected" in a democratic style election. Back then the U.S. was so ruthless, they covered their tracks and made themselves look like the good guys, the helper of humanity. But it was BS!
I'm Dominican American and I'm joining The United States Marine Corps soon this was in the past and It's irrelevant , Yo soy Dominicano Americano i muy pronto voy aser Marino Americano
That war is the Spanish-aamerican war alson known as the Cubanamerican war that started when "The Maine" was mysteriously bombarded in the bay of Habana 1898, which .lead to the invasion of Puerto Rico on July 25, of the same year, and the Phillipines. After losing the war the Spaniards gave the sovereignty Of Puerto Rico, The Philipines, and Cuba, in the Paris treated, to the hands of the winner, the USA, ...The rest is history.... , .
Amnesty International called special attention to "the numerous political assassinations carried out by Death Squads (such as the notorious La Banda) that have been openly tolerated and supported by the National Police. In 1970 it was alleged that there was one death or 'disappearance' every 34 hours. In July, 1971, Norman Gall alleged that in the post-1965 era, the number of political murders in the Dominican Republic exceeded that of any comparable period under the monstrous Trujillo.
The first characteristic has been extensive and systematic terror. In the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, and Brazil, three client fascist systems that came into being with explicit U.S. connivance, by a strange coincidence pare-military "death squads"
The invasion of 1965 reestablished a firm U.S. grip on the island. As Bosch put it in June, 1975, "This country is not pro-American, it is United States property." What then have been the main characteristics of the Dominican model of Third World development, as seen in a country under close U.S. surveillance and control?
@juniorjones21 no los dejamos entrar porque habian rebeles en nuestro pais y nos ayudaron a sacar los rebeles...lo que me enoja es que mandaron mas soldados a santon domingo que a vietnam y perdieron la guerra de vietnam
They got a litle beat of our poison too no that much like in vietnam but good enough as our army was divided and fighting against each others. The expirience was bad for Gringos any way who never say the real number of dead
