The beaming smile that hides a dark or tragic secret: It's hard to discern a person's true character from a photograph. Sometimes the eyes give it away, or the vacant look. But other times, there is no hint of what lurks behind the image or what disturbing backstory is attached to the subject.

I suppose most photos look normal if you aren't aware of the backstories any photos that contained serial killers for instance like the one i saw of Ted Bundy with his daughter would look like any normal father and daughter photo if i wasn't aware of who Ted Bundy was and what he did also the one of John Lennon signing the autograph for Mark Chapman hours before the later shot him dead on the doorstep of his apartment would just look like a star struck fan looking for an autograph from his idol and if what emded up happening didn't happen no one would ever have given it a 2nd thought

Visiting Chernobyl isnt that bad if you keep a rad badge on and limit your time there. Definitely would not dig in the ground or mess with any machinery that was used in the cleanup though. However, those two girls are probably fine. He showed a picture and said how dangerous the claw is. If they just got in and took a quick picture and got out, its very unlikely they even got sick, let alone died.
EDIT: its estimated to give off 39.80 microsieverts per hour. Those numbers arent great but they are not dangerous for a single short term exposure. Its kept off of the tour because of the radiation, but that is likely more for the safety of the tour guides, not the people on the tour. If you regularly were exposed to it, it would not be good in the long term. Touching it though is not great. I still maintain, that it is highly unlikely that they suffered ill effects from just climbing in for a quick photo, unless they are going there everyday and doing it.
I’ll visit Chernobyl one day, hopefully.

the case of Evans is why I dont want the death penalty to make a comeback in the UK
What happened to poor Timothy Evans was worse than a travesty. I cannot express my sadness and anger that he died in this awful way knowing he was innocent. It's unspeakable what he must have endured; I would probably go insane. I believe the Police and court simply wanted ANYONE to railroad for this and chose the man who loved her. Poor, poor man. How appalling! 😢
John Christie was able to manipulate the court so easily, against Evans who was dubbed "Feeble of mind.." Christie earned himself sympathy from his service in the First World War. There is a book called Famous 1914-1918, which details Christie's, and many others lives before, during and after WW1. I highly recommend it!

Chernobyl has been reclaimed by nature so if nature can survive in the exclusive zone there you would wonder in the not too distant future whether humans would aswell unless the wildlife have some form of immunity to the radiation that humans don't

If you want to test a person's character, give them great wealth or great power. We can attribute Nazi propaganda to the mistreatment of the Jewish communities they policed, but a jailor doesn't have to be cruel. That's a personal choice.
Now that is some pronunciation for Auschwitz. And it isnt some obscure name that nobody heard before, its the most well known concentration camp in Nazi Germany.
I don't know why SOME people are getting so bent out of shape considering his pronunciation of the word is fine. Weird people.
