You should retire in the city like makati or bgc especially if youre used to the city life in UK.Afterall provinces are nearby.You may get in touch with 8miles from home,theyre from UK too or kito family to name a few.And learn from them.theyre in Siargao by the way.such a beautiful island. @@BlightytoParadise im from the province as well ,in the bicol region about 12 hrs from manila by land and 45min by plane.This is were you can find the 8th wonders of the world.well,was once.mayon volcano for its perfect coned shape volcano and because of excessive erruption,in a way the was once perfect coned volcano is no longer that perfect.can google it.
Humidity is a big consideration for me. And I used to live there. I was born there. You can get AC but the power outages are quite common. Not a deal breaker I suppose as your body acclimates to the weather if you live there for a while.

Find somewhere breezy. Even the locals are struggling with the heat now. We are just lucky somehow by dodging direct hit from typhoons.

Understand that, used to live with 90% humidity in the past, it can be very hard to get used too
