As a kid who grew up in a strict christian religious household this brings tears to my eyes. I'm a teenager now and I look up to Katy Perry because I can relate with her christian upbringing. I wanna become a wealthy and successful singer like her but in order to do that one has to give up their christian beliefs. I do believe God has hand on Katy and I and one day his prodigal children shall return home.
Christ was condemned for heresy for reaching out to the world. The "prodigal children" you mention all started out innocent, & what this world does to that innocence is attempt to take the innocents away from them in the name of God. Bible scripture - Matthew 23:13 NKJV “But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men. God bless your young soul dear child of God.
People turn away because they chose to turn away. If it takes another human being to make you Abandoned God then your Faith was not in God But was In Man.
I know! I was a pastors daughter for 30 years..... leaving church was the bEST thing for me EVER!!!! it caused so many mental health problems..... and ended up having a break down in the ACTUAL church in FRONT of people. it was the worst.... I related to Katy so much when I left and the teenage dream album was a significant point in my life and spoke to me in so many ways.... "who am I living for?" was really a message for me at that time. I was restricted too much that it made me want to see the "outside" world way too much, I wasn't used to anything that would help me cope in the real world. that I ended up turning away because it became too much not that I just "decided" to turn away from God - I don't believe in that.... I did have a relationship with God but am becoming less and less spiritual and religious now..... LOLLLLL it's cool being in the real world. it's not like you're really "trying to fit in".... although I do hope people lead to faith and good things when being in the world still.... Katy has truly left a message of hope through inspirational songs still ... I grew up without a TV and she thought she had it bad!!! hahahahaha
Exactly, that's why I never advocate for church, a persons personal relationship with God is much more important than listening to false prophets at a church. God doesn't speak through those people.
