The lesson here for me is: women over 40 need to be okay with being single and ending bad relationships. No shame. It might be painful but it is less pain and trauma than being in an abusive relationship or one where there is no mutual respect. Love and marriage is not by force, let it go...

This was a marriage of convenience, the only person who thought otherwise was the woman. There is a lot of men/women who will appear to be what you are looking for and we need to ask God for discernment.
Discernment !!!? True. However in this case, God didnot speak to her through dreams, a feeling or through other people. He sent physical evidence on the evening of the wedding. The marriage should have been annulled, but she went ahead with it to protect herself, her family, the church. .Almost 2 decades later the Church of God has been drugged through the mud, she is still crying her heart out and I am sure her family is heart broken to see her like this. May God heal her.

Yet another narcissistic abusive relationship, The goal of a narcissist is to destroy and eventually kill all your dreams, reduce you to nothing in an effort of trying to control you. Stress you to a point of committing suicide. This kind never change, they only get worse.
Our people are only beginning to know about narcissistic people. It’s easy to judge wrongly till you understand what someone has gone through. I still believe narcissism is demonic though

My conclusion,9 years after walking out of an abusive marriage is,most men don't like intelligent,smart women. It rubs their ego the wrong way. Once you see the reds flags,run for cover. Once you catch your man cheating ,run fast run. Women should embrace singlehood. With respect, the dear pastor's story is neither flowing nor making sense entirely cos it's all over the place (almost incoherent). One struggles to understand the account or keep up with her. When one is not comfortable with sharing her journey by leaving out key details, all that's left is a half-baked story full of holes. Rather than educating/encouraging the viewers, it leaves them totally confused. Shiru kindly encourage ur guests prior interview to open up or give themselves time to heal, till such a time that they're comfortable sharing their journey fully. It's a rushed testimony that leaves more questions than answers.

This interview has touched me because by the mention of your marriage shook within a day. I find it similar to mine which shook within a month. And now I've been in this marriage for 23 years with a lot of challenges where I've never seen love. I'm born again but what I've been through I can't say I've ever enjoyed in my marriage, be blessed mum. I'm still struggling to date since 1997 when I got married.
Sorry that you have to be so unhappy. I watched another female pastor who prayed and still loved her husband who returned to her after 18 years and now they minister together. God can never give to a trial that you cannot come out of. It is for you to seek Him until you are out of it. 1997 is very long. But never give up.
A bad marriage will rob you of yourself and tear your soul into pieces, and leave you feeling empty and wounded. It's always good to honour God by preserving yourself and choosing yourself over what people say.
