Loved it. Thanks for all the transport information and places to visit. I will be traveling from Ireland to Vancouver for the first time in September. Can't wait.👍😊🇮🇪🇨🇦
If you live in Yaletown, Olympic Village areas you bike everywhere, faster around the Seawall by bike than water taxi. Back in the 80s, before Expo all that space around False Creek was industrial, warehouses and open land where dozens of homeless camps would spring up every night. Seymour Street was about 8 blocks of prostitutes and drug dealers from Robson to Davie, now a 1 bedroom condo in a highrise along that walk costs an average of $1,000,000. And Gastown is gorgeous, I lived there in the 90s, it was a hellhole, crime was rampant and sirens were non-stop. My cockroach infested welfare hotel was torn down years ago, an apartment in the new building with a view of Blood Alley that I had now costs $3.5 million. I see people commenting on how Vancouver was so much cleaner and there were no homeless or drug problems back before Expo or even older videos of the city, they obviously weren't there. It's definitely better now than it was then. Not for the homeless, they're all packed into a 4X4 block area around Hastings and Main.
Nice video. If you stop at Edmonds station between New West and Metrotown and take a 10 minute walk North to Kingsway street there's more shopping, some grocery stores like save on and restaurants. Edmonds is a nice area. I used to live in Burnaby and would take the Skytrain everywhere and explored the areas. Coming back for a trip next month, this video makes me more excited to visit Vancouver again. Lol.
Nice video, lucked out with the weather. The "Quay" in New West and Lonsdale is actually pronounced "Key". I also enjoy sitting at the front of the train like Sam does!
Thanks for the expert tip. If you stay around for some of our other videos you'll notice that Riley loves mispronouncing names of places 😂 it's a different experience sitting at the front!
@@rileysam2586 Outside downtown most of the Skytrain has a bike path either underneath it or next to it. Because the bike paths follow the Skytrain they are (mostly) flat.
I'll be visiting Canada next year and planning to go around town on the skytrain. So i don't need a compass card for a one day pass? And is there is a surcharge for the one day pass if i didn't get the compass card?
@@rileysam2586 I initially said it in my head as “q-way” but then realized I was saying it wrong in my head for years when someone else unintentionally corrected me 😂
The Grouse Mountain tram should be considered public transit. Seriously, $75 per adult, $230 for an annual pass, that doesn't include any of the attractions at the top just the tram ride, you still have to pay to use other attractions such as the zipline, $115, and if you hike up the FREE Grouse Grind it costs $20 to come down on the tram. It used to cost $5 for kids and $9 for adults both ways in the 80s, less than a transit day pass now, now that's Capitalism at work and keeps the average blue collar folks away most of the time. It's sadly become a tourist attraction, rarely see locals up there anymore. That is one very expensive Valentine's date, if your significant other springs for a day on Grouse Mountain ending with a romantic dinner at The Observatory, it didn't come cheap.
Great day trip guys!
Wow thanks Mike! Love your content!
It's really pretty in Vancouver, I love going there even for a day :D

Hope you have a wonderful time in Vancouver!
Visiting Vancouver this summer and I'm excited to travel the city using the Sky Train and Sea Bus. Thanks for the tip on Compass cards and day passes.

Thanks for sharing very beautiful video and useful information congratulations to both of you 👌👌👌
Hey! I really enjoyed the video and it was really helpful especially with the Seabus being included in the video. Great job!

Wow thanks for the expert tip! We'll definitely check it out next time we're in the area 😀

Very nice video my new friend
Nice trip
I've been on the skytrain to VCC Clark only.
There is a bike trail that goes along under a large portion of the Skytrain tracks, which is probably the best use of the space in residential areas
That sounds like a very fun bike ride. We will definitely have to check that out one day! I agree, a very good use of space.

homemade sandwiches for lunch. and apple as snack. damn....you guys...
I like riding helicopters and riding the skytrain to VCC Clark.
Great
Seabus is 400 people capacity. Skytrain is not a tourist train. I've commuted on both for 25 years
Nice video and editing.. what camera and software did you use to edit ?
Canon M50 with a 15-45mm lens. I (Riley) use Adobe Premiere Pro to edit and Sam uses iMovie :)
The 6$ is refundable if you return the card btw

Hi nejroloas, for a day pass you do not need a compass card. It is also on a slip of paper, which does not cost extra! Save $6
I know I'm super late to this, but just fyi, "Quay" in Lonsdale Quay is pronounced as 'key'
That's so funny! We realized this in a future video and corrected ourselves. How embarrassing :p

What is the name of the song minute 8:46? Thank you and awesome video! 👍🏻

So can you get all day pass without buying the Compass card?
Yes. You can save 6 dollars by doing so!
You are very honest
How muvh time skyttain take from surrey to yaletown?
About 35-40mins. Not too bad of a ride.
@@rileysam2586 anhan thanks alot
YOu can get the $6 back if you return the card.
WOOW. Pro tip. Thank you so much! We will be returning the card.
You definitely don't have to have kids to go Science World.
