Growing Butterfly Pea Plant from seeds is also very easy and I already have a video about it where you can see the entire process. Believe me, it's really an easy vine to grow in summer. So, just grow it, either from the seeds or from the seedlings/saplings and enjoy the blooms in the heat of summer.
Thank you very much for watching the video and if you have any questions, please let me know and I would get back ASAP! Thank you once again and have a great day :-)
It’s odd, almost all the educational videos on growing plants I have watched lately have come from Indian people. That’s awesome tbh
Ha ha...thanks! It's mainly because this plant is quite popular India as many people use them in "Puja" (worship)
@@GardeningUpbeat Yeah, well I enjoyed the video! That’s a definite, I just felt the need to share my own experience since you were. I thought tea having healing properties was a joke until I really sat down and thought about it lol
But, yeah I get it. Great video nonetheless!! :)
The unique part about your videos is that you show seedlings grow over some duration and are very dedicated to update the video withers all your updates.
Your videos are always so informative, thanks for your great contribution/content!
Glad to know and thank you So much for your feedback, much appreciated :-) Happy Gardening :-)
Such a helpful video!! I have a sapling and didn't know how to take it forward
Thank you for this
You are most welcome and glad to hear it was helpful. And, thank you so much for your kind words, appreciated!
Me too ❤❤
thank you for your videos on aparajita, just bought some seeds and will be trying to grow them in Canada. Cant wait to see some beautiful blooms!
Where did you buy the seeds from?
Thank you so much. You inspired me to plant this plant.
Your videos are lovely. I have been careless about my terrace garden & have been watching your videos to make it look lush & beautiful. Thank you for these videos. I know a lot of work goes into creating such videos & appreciate it. I have a double bluebell plant with double the petals 😊. If you would want it I can save & courier some seeds to you 😊.
@anitha nayak, Thank you so much for being so KIND and for your ENCOURAGEMENT, I TRULY appreciate and trust me, it's really hard to get feedback like this. So, thank you once again 😊 Of course it would be great to get seeds from you and please save the seeds. I would let you know at the right time. Have a great time ahead and TC :-)
@@GardeningUpbeat I’ll save the dried seed pods for you 😊! Do let me know whenever you need them.
That's great to know and thank you once again 😊 I would 😊
@anitha Nayak, I have the single flower but would love some of the double petal. Maybe we could exchange some seeds? I am in Nw Fl. Thank you so much!
Very comprehensive guide.
Thank you very much :-)
Thanks for including everything in one time also explained nicely and simply.
Good details Glad you speak slowly 👍🏽
Thank you so much 😊
You are a wonderful youtuber. You are a wonderful person as well. I learnt so much from you. Big thank you brother
Thank you so much for your kind words, really appreciated!
Informative video.
I have double petal blue Aparajita plant in ground, and it's growing really well. I noticed that it didn't do well when I manually tried to support the vine with a thread. Instead, it does well when it gathers support by itself. My threads were of no use :D.
It is really a very good plant though and produces loads of flowers.
I am planning to grow white Aparajita plant from seeds.
@ Anupam S, thank you very much for your feedback. Great to know you have the double petaled Aparajita and it looks awesome :-) Look like she decided to stay independent and so avoided your thread :-) Good luck with growing the White Aparajita, that looks great too.
I noticed that if I touch the creeper to give support that stems are getting dry and it stopped growing.
Can u send the double blue petal seeds to mumbai plzz i am search g past season one year plzzzzz reply
Your video is very clear and amazing
Thanks you so much for your lovely feedback 😊
Thank you for sharing this video i have started this plant n it looks pretty cool. One more thing i liked in this video was the creativity u have done with ur balcony grill.. Could u please elaborate how u did that? Is it jute rope? Hope to hear from u soon
@Rupal Salvi, Most welcome and thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOO much for your words, appreciate it :-) You guessed it right...it's just jute rope :-) I just wrapped all the grills with the jute rope just to bring some natural look :-) Thank you once again for noticing that!
i like your video nice vibe and your narration sounds happy
@K RR, Thank you So So much for the feedback, much appreciated :-)
Hi I like your vlogs.. Very interesting i love plants. I am planning to plant more like that. Thanks for your bright ideas. I learned more about your vids
@Trending Post, thank you very much for the wonderful feedback, appreciate it :-)

Great video for beginners
I stay in India
So what season would be best to grow the plant?
Is monsoon okay?
Glad you liked it and thank you for your words! I am also from India and in our place, we can start growing from seeds from March onward! It's July and now also can be grown as they are very fast grower! Good luck :-)

@Tulika's craft kitchen, Thank you so so much for the feedback, appreciate it.
I had a Butterfly Pea at home, my neighbors collect some to make tea.
Terima kasih sudah berbagi
@chdyah wijayanti, Terima kasih banyak :-)
Do you need to trim the branch to grow more branches? Your blue ternatea is very lush.
Not needed actually and they grow well if we provide good potting soil mix..but of course you can do if you like.. Glad you liked my plants and thank you very much for your feedback!
hi there. your plant has grown so well. i have the same plant in a pot on my balcony, and i water it once or twice a week. a lot of the leaves have gotten very yellow. am i overwatering or underwatering?
Hi @Grace Ooi, thank you for your feedback, appreciate it. Regarding yellow leaves, most probably you are Underwatering. But still, can you please let me know how much direct Sunlight it's getting everyday and whether you are letting the top soil dry out before watering? If it's getting at least 5-6 hours of direct sunlight and you are letting the top soil dry out, then 100% it's because of underwatering. Plz keep the soil consistently moist and plant would be happy :-) If the drainage whole is working and soil is well drained, it's nearly impossible to kill Butterfly Pea by watering, even if we water daily. Sorry for the long reply and plz let me know if you have any question and I would be glad to help you. Thanks again :-)
My Aparajitha plant flower is double petal. It’s not growing well and barely flowers
@@GardeningUpbeat can you send me some plant or some seed so i can try to plant . It look pretty cool. Thank you

Not even been through half of the video..but already u made me subscribe your channel! Such a informative video that's crystal clear with instructions. I have found small snails in my pots it's been raining a couple of days here..will the snails die when the sun's up? Or any remedies please help😢 it has already started spreading in a couple of pots and found a couple of snails in hanging pots too......
Lovely gardening upbeat
Useful and detailed ... thanks
@Deepu, Thank you So so much for the feedback, much appreciated :-)
good job thanks
Thank you very much :-)
My butterfly pea (growing in a container pot) is like 2 meters tall already, but has only ever made 2 flowers, a year ago. Doesnt seem to want to flower.
Seems like you arent watering enough, they are super hardy and hard to kill but to really get lots of flowers you have to water more often than you would think, dont let the soil completely dry out. Sometimes with peas in general if you get lots of foilage and no flowers or fruits it could be too much or too little nitrogen in the soil.
Me too! Anyone with advice tell us!
Thank you for the video sir👍 Really helpful 🎉
Good job
Thank you!
Thank you so much - what a wonderful two-part video! You taught me so much! I am growing these in Texas. From October - February, we can have cold temperatures, and even freezes. Should I overwinter these in the garage? Thanks!
Hi Beth, I live in south Alabama zone 8b. These grow wild on my property. These are perennial so no digging or moving indoors required. I collect the seed pods once they turn brown. They will pop open throwing seeds everywhere so they must either be opened by twisting the pod over a bowl or put in a bag. I then store them in the 32 degree crisper drawer in the refrigerator. Mine are an orchid color and single blooms. I saw a video pertaining to the blue double. Seed are available from Baker Creek in Missouri. Hope this helps as I didn't see any response to your query.
No problem
Sir, it grows well under the sun? And lots of water needed?
Yes..Sunlight is needed..at least 5-6 hours for more flowers. And, you are also right..daily watering in Summer is must!
Can we directly put the seed in big pot with potting mix so that I need not shift?
Thank you for this informational video. just a question: can i grow these inside? or will they not bloom.
No ... They need sunlight
İf you want to grow inside you really need to invest in good grow lights and a tiny fan for air flow
They can be indoors but they have to have sunlight
Since I transplanted my plant, it has become dull not showing any recovery. What should I do? Any suggestions. Thanks for such a informative tutorial.
Thank you for the nice video.
What home-made fertilisers can l use for it? Are tea leaves useful?
Iam try this I like this video I have this plant at home IAM from Tamilnadu in Chennai I don't no English little bit
@Tamil ganesh channel, Thank you for liking the video, appreciate it :-) It's okay to know little bit as English is not the first language :-)
Beautiful
@linjeeC, Thank you very much 😊
Hi! Thank you for this. I have all green coloured seed pods on my Aparajita Plant. When do they turn brown? Can I remove the seeds and sow them when the pods are green? They just seem to be the same colour for weeks now! Thank you!
Nice information
Hey @Garden Globe, thank you very much for the feedback, appreciate it :-)
I liked ur video about aparajitha. I have white and blue. They r growing well. I have seen multi petalled blue pea and other colours in the video. Do u have other colours with u?
hello chandan ji... thank you so much for this second part of growing blue pea...

have a great day ahead.
@Bhavana Soni, thank you very much for the feedback, appreciate it :-) Thank you again for the request, I am working on it and hopefully I would be able to show the result soon. Have a wonderful time :-)
nice
I just came across your video and the main attraction was that jute frame...can you explain how you made it how it helps the plants nd is there any chance of rust in the balcony railings?
Hi, very informative video. Thanks for sharing. Do you pinch the plant from the top to increasing branching or just let it be?
Nicely explained.I hv ordered red, yellow etc colour in hybrid. If I collect seeds of hybrid plant will it germinate ?
Thank you for enlightening videos. I saw that you said to remove seedpods because flowers won't bloom well ... why so?
And the green seed pots are edible? How to eat them? Raw? Just the seeds or with the pods?
And what benefits for eating seeds pls?
Lastly if I want to get more seeds to sow more .. how mature should the pods be pls?
Wonderful
My favourite flowers(than q very much)
@BHAGYA LAXMI, Glad to know it's one of your favourite flowers :-)
Hello sir when and how did u prune seedling so that plant becomes bushy
Can this plant tolerate to harsh sun and hot??? Can this plant grow in shade?? Or which sun light is the best morning, afternoon... as I live in Australia. Thank you.
Bogor hadir 👍🏻
, thank you so for this video
Most welcome and thank you so much for watching :-)
Nice Job, what did you say the fertilizer was? I could hear that good.
Hello. Thank you for sharing this video. It was very helpful. May I ask what the sun or light preferences are for the Butterfly Pea Plant? I live in the Philippines. Can it take full, direct tropical sunlight or does it need to be placed in partial shade?
I speak this from experience, but I'm not an expert so take it with a grain of salt: Put it a place where it can get direct sunlight, but also where it can get shade (like a porch or a balcony. Bonus points if there's also a place to climb!)
Ur videos r very informative plz a request if u don’t put music when u talk in video it’s difficult for me to understand
Thank you so much for your feedback...I am actually sorry for using loud BG music in my old videos..now a days, I don't even use them whenever I talk! Once again thank you for watching :-)
Is this plant can grow in the hot climate only or it plant any where in the US.
Ideal temperature is 66° to 82° F and if temp is favorable, definitely you would be able to grow. It also tolerates cool and moist climatic conditions to some extent but wants frost free conditions. Wish you all the best!
Does this plant need lot of sunlight
Sir can you guide on (gulmehendi) balsam plants from scratch. It'd be a great help...sir

@Rajalakshmi Mohan, Thank you very much! Sure, you can :-) You would need to keep Pruning and make your plant bushier. TC :-)
hank you so much@@GardeningUpbeat
Hello, I live in europe and I have the seeds. I am worried about the limited sun we get here, mostly in summer and spring time, the rest of the year is cloudy and rainy. What is the temperature you recommend? and how is the exposure to light done?
Thank you for this video!
Hi @Eugenia Robles, thank you for your question. Sorry to know about the Sun exposure but for us that's like a Heaven..lol..Sun is burning the skin and temperature in place is around 95°F (on average). Anyway, Blue pea or butterfly pea grows well in tropical region and it loves the heat n humidity. But still, it doesn't prefer too hot either like more than 95°F. It does well when temp is around 80°F.
Direct Sunlight Exposure - I would say that it would need minimum 2.5 - 3 hours of direct Sunlight to bloom well. Saying this from my own experiences and morning sunlight would be great but it's also okay if it gets the afternoon Sunlight. Last year they did great in my Balcony and my Balcony gets only the afternoon sunlight from around 2 - 5 P.M. (in Summer Season).
I hope, I have answered your question but if you believe I missed any important thing, plz let me know and I would get back to you asap. Thank you and have a great day :-)

@@riyachandra5777 welcome happy gardening.
Hi friend, it's rainy season here. Can I still water everyday? And why are my flowers bloomed and then suddenly folded out? Big thanks for your feedback.
@Nurse Rexi, Sorry for the late reply...No, during rainy season you don't need to water everyday. Anyway, they would signal you when they need water - by wilting the leaves. The rainfall is doing that to the flowers...nothing to worry about :-)
I really like your tutorials. Suggestions for future teachings: do part 1, part 2, etc to show sequence.
Nice..
Is pruning of Aparajita plant needed in regular manner?
Can moss stick be used for support or simple wooden stick will serve d purpose, can it be trail downward in hanging baskets
@Shilpa Mittal, Moss stick is not needed as they don't produce any Arial roots...Simple wooden or bamboo stick would work well. It would be tough to trail them downward as they tend to grow upward. If you are looking for best plants for hanging baskets that trail downward, then please watch this video - ruclips.net/video/d4ncCOCye1s/видео.html (List of 25 plants and I would add more soon) Thank you :-)
Can you help me. Mines got too much sun and wilting. Idk what to do now
Which month is the best to plant
the seed pods are actually edible You have to harvest them when they're still very soft
Can I grow them on full sunlight?
Can I grow aparajita as a bush?
We can, frequent pruning would be needed. Drawback - flowers would be less because of less growth of vines. I am already doing with some more modification. Would share very soon, thank you!
Why my aprajita plant so thin how to make it healthy
My aparajita plant is growing very slowly in a pot kept in shade. It gets sun light about 2hrs per day. The temperature outside is 40degC with very high UV. After 30days of sowing it is just 4 inches tall. I water it twice a day. Please comment.
Can they be left outside all year long or do I have to regrow them each year?
They are hardy plant .. although their flowering might pause in winters
Do vermicompost expires as I have 1packet of last year but I haven't open it yet
How to differentiate different colours flower
Hi.. will aparajita dry out .. is it a seasonal plant
I live in NW Louisiana super hot and HUMID I have clay soil, Ive lived in my home since 2014, the yard was extremely neglected. I would see these out by my wooded area which is very shaded and assumed it was just a pretty weed. I reverse photo searched a flower yesterday and learned it was this plant. Im surprised they are still trying to grow.
Can two or more Aparajita plants be grown in 8inches pot?
