  • In this episode, Tony WB6MIE (SK) demonstrates how to build a very inexpensive UHF ground plane antenna from materials you probably have in your garage. This tiny antenna is meant to be mounted outdoors, and is virtually invisible. The performance of even the most modest HT will be greatly improved. You'll be able to hear more stations and talk to stations farther away! Join us at W7HEN.ORG

Excellent presentation. For weather proofing consider using duct seal putty. It stays soft and malleable. Very cheap to buy at Home Depot in the electrical dept. I use it to seal up outside PL259 connections. Cheaper than "coax seal".
