    I have a huge jar of the sweet and sour sauce in your book. This is the third batch I have made and its just brilliant. I know you said you shouldnt eat it every day, but its soooo good, we probably almost do! I have tried a lot of the recepies and they have all been pretty much spot on. Keep up the great videos, and yes please, cod in vodka batter sounds amazing.

    I love Cod, yet the only time I get to eat it is from the chip shop. Having another avenue to eat it would be amazing. Especially cooking it for my family and not telling them. They would be blown away. So yes. Please could you show us. 😁👍

    Looks like a great sauce. I could freeze it in bags and have it over a few months. Please do the Cod goujons recipe. I guess it would work with anything from Pollock to Monkfish!

    Oh no.. another one that looks amazing! I just made a shed-load of the other 'quick' version. :D Husband is asking for the Kung po & egg fried rice again for dinner (2nd time this week)... (that Yeos hot bean sauce is amazing!!). I was amazed to learn that the sweet and sour seems to be the base for so many of our favourite chinese meals.

    Got your book last year and it's amazing. I made this sweet and sour but it was mega gingery. Do you guys have a recipe for a more common takeaway sweet and sour please? You know, the sticky bright red stuff ;-)

    That cod looks amazing. The green bag of self raising four you use isn’t available here. Is there any other option we could do to make normal self raising flour work?

      @@ZiangsFoodWorkshop that would be great. I am sure the Chinese restaurants here have some secret to get that perfect puff and crispness but alas I don’t know any of the staff personally to find out. I have had some success adding potato starch to my normal fried chicken which gives a great crunch but when I try this style of cooking, the normal self raising flour kind of puffs a little bit but gets quite soggy and a bit deflated at which point it falls off the protein underneath.
      Also I recently made the jumbo spring rolls from one of your videos and they were a big hit everyone loved them I can’t wait to try some more recipes soon.

    Don’t know if you will get this but can you freeze this , if so what stage is best before you thicken it or after

      It will last months in an airtight container (unthickened) you only thicken when your about to use it

    Brought the book and lots of bits from your online shop, this recipe seems different from the one in your cookbook? Is the book an old one or the newest recipe?
    Got myself a rice cooker and I think I’ve eaten some kind of fried rice every night for two weeks 😂😂😂

    I love sweet and sour but my wife doesn't. That means that when I make the sauce I will only use a small portion of it at a time. So how long will this sauce last in the fridge and can it be frozen without degrading the flavour? Oh, and yes to the cod things! ☺️

      no it wont loose to much, some place making batches and store it for up to 6 month

    So quite a few recipes in the cookbook call for using the sweet and sour sauce in the book as part of ingredients, can this one be used instead and will the quantity be the same if it can? or will it change the taste of the dish to make it wrong?

    I got the book, it's not that clear on the steps 12 to 14, once simmered do I leave the ingredients in for 48 hours, then sieve, re boil and thicken ? Smells amazing, so far

    Question pls: Whats the differences between corn starch and potato starch?

      Potato starch is more chemically stable so it stays crispy longer in a batter mix and doesn’t cook out like cornstarch

      This is less than 1.5 ltrs thus will only make 4-5 dishes and will last for months
