In 1979, I bought a ‘68 Fury III convertible red, with white top and interior. It was an awesome summer ride. Saw it’s share of parades. Thank you for posting this remembrance.

    Lou,
Thanks for doing the story on my 68 Plymouth Fury and for sharing my love for cars and the hobbly. While the shows are a lot of fun, the reward is getting to finally have it on the road after the countless hours of wrenching on it; and being able to drive it to events like Chryslers at Carlisle.

@@loucostabile Great video for Mike Ryan's 68' Fury III GREEN Convertible. I inherited my Dad's blue 68' Fury III convertible. Just rebuilt the carb with help from my friends. Have it running again, but it needs some additional work and a new roof. This was bought in NJ by my Dad off the showroom floor first & only owner. Found you when I was searching help for the BRAKE SYSTEM LIGHT staying lit.

The 1968 Plymouth Fury was among the last cars with stacked headlamps for several years. In '68 the only other cars that still had them were the AMC Ambassador and the Cadillac DeVille/Fleetwood. I also like the dash, and you can easily ID a '68 Fury from the rear by those hairpin taillights. BTW, there was yet another '68 Fury series that Mike didn't mention, the VIP, which at that time was Plymouth's LTD/Caprice competitor.
Thanks, again, Lou. I'll be watching lots more of your channel.

To me, the most attractive aspect of any car is the interior. I'm kinda weird that way, I appreciate the exterior design, the engine makeup, but it's the interior that does it for me. Every time I hear about a new car edition the first thing I google is the interior. So, this 1968 Plymouth car is a good example, it's all square on the outside but the interior is gorgeous! That's how you get me to spend my money.

Iiiii Like it! Super clean car too! That engine and the engine bay is so squeaky clean I could serve family dinner in there and they'd love it! Mike would kill us, but to dine in such a fine clean area like that would be worth it. Speaking of 318s., my old Plymouth Satellite had a 318 in er., and I thought it was great! The only thing was - the motor mounts kept breaking. Seriously! And that was the only thing about the car that was a problem. I guess I went through 3 sets of motor-mounts before I got rid of er. High Fives to Mike and His 68 Fury!

Beautiful 1968 Fury lll...... Please fix your taillights, I think you have a few bulbs out??? Also, you have to straighten out your tailpipes??? They never stuck out way past the rear bumper... in fact you barely seen them at all unless you stepped back a few feet!

I had a 68 fast back light blue with 383 2 barrel. I would like to have a convertible version.

Niice looking car, but setting points on the 318 was a pain. Beside that one of the best engines in the line-up.

I think this is kind of between the Fury II and the Sport Fury...

Was it me or did I hear lifters sticking?

I thought I heard the same thing. Thought maybe the belts and pulleys could have been the noise also- just guessing.

In the video it sounded the same to me to, but the lifters are nice and quiet. I replaced them all only about 5k miles ago when I freshened up the motor. Maybe just the way the microphone picked up the exhaust sound.

BTW. The 1958 Plymouth two door hardtop in the film version of Steven King's novel "Christine" IS NOT a Fury. It is a Belvedere. Mr. King may know weird but he doesn't know shit about cars. The 1958 Fury came in just one color - Sandstone beige with gold anodized trim not two tone white over red.
