Nooo His Promos Weren't that Good! i'm 52 & Wondered Why growing up in Atlanta i Knew of his Name but Never really Knew his Face that's because He was Only oK. Easily knew by Face & Names like Ernie The Cat Ladd & others from that Era like DUSTY RHODES But Thunderbolts his Promos just weren't Complete. He couldn't make Complete statements!!
Yeah Dusty was inspired by him for sure and no disrespect to Thunderbolt but Dusty just took it to a whole other level. Nothing really touches “wined and dined with kings and queens” promo and so many more
His in Ring work sucked. He was completely horrible as a wrestler. Ha e you ever even watched a match he was in?. He was a good promo,he could talk people into the building but was not good in the ring at all. He was very limited and they had to put people in there that could work around him.

I'm so happy for him going into the HOF. Happy he is still with us to experience it. I watched him a lot in MidSouth growing up and most intense feud I saw was with Ernie Ladd who in this video he used to tag with. The heat between them on promos had communities fired up for their matches.
I had the honor of meeting Thunderbolt Patterson in 2011 at a fan fest in Atlanta. A great man, and I am so happy to see him inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame.!

This was before my time, so I'm not familiar with Thunderbolt Patterson or anyone else in these clips (although I've heard plenty about Ole Anderson). I must say, if this is the "best" of Thunderbolt's promos, then he was far less then great in that regard. Of course, promos are just one aspect of pro wrestling and it's about much more then just that. I understand he was over big time in Georgia. I don't know if he's quite HoF material or not, but I'm not really against him going in. The legitimacy of WWE's HoF is kind of iffy anyway. For the most part, it's just a show.

I don't know if he's quite HoF material or not, but I'm not really against him going in. The legitimacy of WWE's HoF is kind of iffy anyway. For the most part, it's just a show.
