I now have an online store where I sell replacement parts and components, as well as some of the items I fix in my videos. Please check it out over at www.consolefix.shop
Loved the bit where you said you couldn't remember where the test pads were off the top of your head and all we could see was the top of your head, LOL!
I think Phil said "If I fix it I'll send it back" just incase no one heard, Not watched the whole vid yet scrolled just enough to make a comment saying nice fix dont doubt your skills for a second like a ninja fault finder lol
There is something awfully weird about YT where there are some channels (yours included unfortunately) that even though I subscribe, then maybe the next day when I go to watch another video on the channel, it shows that I'm not subscribed. If you've got anyone helping with the channel at YT, can you mention this? Cheers. Great channel and great content. Learning all the time from watching.
Those 1R5 Power Inductors.. Are they common for failing? I have a laptop that randomly turned off while in use, and now wont turn back on.. It gives power light, But nothing happens.. Inspecting the motherboard when powered, I get a wierd noise from one of those 1R5 power inductors, Sort of like a Coil Whine, High pitched noise... So just wondered if they were common failure? Thanks
Definitely should save this board it has the screen printing of the layout of the circuitry .... I haven't came across one that has the printing on it For the board view I'm looking for the board view layout on this Any idea Where I can find ? ?
@@TheCod3r I have Schematics myself too But that 1 that you are working on is kind of precious.... It has the board layout do you still have it to take pictures high deaf pictures of the board And upload That would be awesome Have you came across other ones with the printing on it ?
It really kills me how many console failures wouldn't happen IF the manufacturers worked on making PSUs quieter. ALL those redundant filter caps are just bandaids for cheap design. One fails and you get short to ground. It's almost the first thing to check these days.
Great videos, I have watched so many of your videos over the last week or so. Never attempted to look at a console myself for repair or modding, but have done some hobiest soldering. I was wanting to ask are there standard 12v and 5v rails that you know to go to for testing power coming in on all consoles? Patreon and Twich subbed.
@@TheStickman234 I have mate yeah. I have fixed that issue but one of your analogues aren't working so I had to order some in. Am I OK to give you a call tomorrow?
@@TheCod3r well, you need one CPU for every socket, at least most important ones, then SDR, DDR1-5 memory, and one motherboard with PCI express, and one with Universal AGP slot, and PCI. Then one power supply, and you're ok. :) Rest is the same, same resistors, capacitors, same electrotechnical logic, on PCBs. But ok, anyway thanks for answer.

Loved this one Phil! It was a real pleasure watching the methodical approach and learning stuff along the way like the TP board numbering scheme.
Cheers mate, glad to be of help to people 👍
Very kind of both of you for your generosity.
Your fault finding skills are truly remarkable
I enjoy the preamble of your repairs, and the repairs! Thank You. 😃

I don't think board views are available, but we do have schematics on discord. I've come across stacks of these with the silkscreen on them

You said you had a link for the voltage injector you used in this video, but I don't see a link for it.

That's weird mate. Maybe contact discord support and find out what's going on or buy a burner number for £1/$1 on ebay
